She tries to catch the stray tear as quickly as she hears her half-sister approach. Though not quickly enough, it seems, as Maysun’s attempts to comfort soon follow. Her name of affection toward some sort of familial bond. Maysun was perhaps the only one of their siblings who actually seemed to like her, and that may be only for the fact she had practically raised the other by herself. Hand slips from a porcelain cheek she hopes the reddened handprint of their father has faded from. She had let him down, he was naturally disappointed. She would do better next time, she promised. “I’m fine. Stay out of matters that don’t concern you, Mays” She murmurs in a low, near robotic tone. One she had perfected to keep the wall up around her.

Even if she hadn’t been the middle child, Maysun still would have loved all of her siblings - half siblings, she often has to remind herself, because that was what they all are and - even if they do not love her back. She sees Serena’s hand slip from her porcelain cheek and she frowns as she puts two and two together. Maysun is no fool. An assassin is many things, but no fool. “Forgive me for saying so, but you do not look fine.” Anger burns deep within her, but she manages to keep her voice level, and quiet. He has raised a hand to her older sister, has he not? Far too often, Maysun thinks about cutting them off so he will not be able to hurt anyone ever again. Maybe Jen had been right. Maybe they all should have left under the cover of night. But Serena is Serena and Serena is loyal. And Serena’s head is warring with her heart. And Maysun has long since decided to be there when it is either Serena’s head or Serena’s heart that wins. No one else will be. They have to keep each other afloat. She does not fault Huelo or Jen for it. After all, Maysun has winced too when Serena sounded more like him than herself. “Come, I am sure I have something that will... alleviate all of that.”

It breaks her heart to see her sister like this. Their maker father - the word tastes like ash upon her tongue, still, even after so many years - will never love her, or them, like they deserve to be loved. Maysun’s figured that if their father maker will not love them, she’ll just have to fill that void to the best of her ability. “Ukhti, is everything all right? What did he say?”

This is literally exactly how I imagine Aro to handle this whole situation post-Breaking Dawn. I’ve never jibed with something so much in my entire life. It’s literally the most perfect piece of fanfiction ever. I may or may not have giggled happily when Aro pointed out the weaknesses in Edward and Alice’s abilities, and how that would be the Cullens downfall because they are far from infallible. That really spoke directly into my soul. Wow. 10/10. Seriously.

I especially love the idea that Renesmee manipulates people into protecting her via projecting herself + her thoughts onto those she touches (i.e.: I want to be safe and protected, so you guys are going to do that for me). It makes Amun look significantly less paranoid for not allowing Kebi to touch her. I think Alistair didn’t touch Renesmee either, or at least he had extremely limited contact with her; that could explain why he was the only witness to bolt once he heard the Volturi were bringing out the whole crew for the confrontation. In addition, it could explain why they seemed so unattached to the situation compared to the others. It could also explain why Bella’s POV in Breaking Dawn became so …judgmental and weird? And why her views on children changed even though she had expressed no interest in it prior to her pregnancy.

Seriously though. Thank you so much for sending this to me! I’m literally in love with it. I can’t stop reading it.

he never really did return her visits but despite this, maysun adores her brother; she wants only the best for him. all she wants is his happiness. and if it comes before her own or at the cost of her own, then so be it. she’s long since made peace with that, anyway.

even though she misses her tremendously, maysun is so very proud of jennifer for standing her ground and not allowing their father to bulldoze over decisions she’s making like he does to others. like he does to her. she tries to meet up with jennifer as much as she can and tries to keep her father’s attention off of her as best she can.

look i know that the wikia says that serena is the most like joham ‘cause she’s the oldest and everything but serena - or reen, as her younger sister calls her - is maysun’s okhti. her sister. serena knows that maysun isn’t very good at verbally expressing her emotions but that she does it through physical means. serena is the one who secretly went along to dance battles with maysun, who gave her a hair tie and told her to go get ‘em.
