Lycantropy is a dramatic shift into a more animalistic appearing form triggered by external stimuli. This event always triggers an extreme surge in appetite, and lowers the host's cognitive abilities , overpowering them with stronger "instincts" for the duration.(*)

Documented cases of lycans include:

wolves - full moon shift - territorial

bears - cloudless noons - foraging

Iguana - thunderstorms - rest

Crow - strong winds - hording

Rabbit - high stress - panic

Spider - darkness - craftsmanship

Beaver - the sound of flowing water - stopping the sound of flowing water.

Snake - heat - burrowing

Boar - overeating - rage

Rat - condition contested(**) - teathing

Turtle - boredom - well... (***)

Drakolycans, despite having lycan in the name, are considered their own thing, as they are capable of switching at will and without cognitive decline.

* with the exception of turtles, with some claiming lack of self control and others claiming lack of focus. Yet more claim they do not experience any change in mindset whatsoever.

** the current leading theory is discomfort, although some rats have shifted and later claimed no distress at moment of shift, and other rats have been in extreme discomfort without shifting.

*** generally, after the hunger, they just kind of lie down and zone out. Sometimes they go swimming.If there's water nearby, but overall they don't seem to do much.

The species page for the Colban's

Colbans

Body type: partial Humanoid

Lifespan: 100-150 years

Common features: Backwards bent legs, wool around the neck, horns that spiral forward from the temples and side facing eyes along with leathery skin that comes in dark black. This species is the shortest standing at 2’ 4 to 3' 1. The males have horns but less wool while the females have no horns and much more wool as well as generally being a foot taller than even the tallest male.

Background: the only species Herms are friendly with, this species is the smallest in population making up only 4.95% of the global population. Colbans are commonly found in climates that allow for more mild temperatures, neither cold nor hot.

Additional notes: Colbans as they age have their wool get progressively more gold as well as grow darker in pigment, as well for males their horns full over time until they stop growing at around the age of 140.

here are some facts about eden, louisiana:

as i said, it is located between cajun and plantation country. due to the town not being very large, there are only two plantations in the town itself. one of the plantations is owned by the rutherford family (the mayor and his family) and the other is owned by the jackson family (though it originally belonged to a different family that one day vanished without a trace).

the town part of the st. martin seat, despite being between st. martin and lberville, and was created from the st. martin parish.

the town was established in 1809.

the town is 1,013 square feet miles / 2,6237 kilometres squared.

the town has a population of 11,564 people as of 1980.

despite its age, it is not part of the original 19 parishes.

the official name of the town is: éden and in the early days of its establishment, it was called d'éden.

the average rent during the 1980 was $243 a month. while the average home cost was estimated at $45,000.

almost all of the homes date back to the original days of the town, though not all of them. some were destroyed during hurricanes, and new homes were built.

the town hall, which is also referred to as the parish archive, in eden doubles as a library and a place where all important documents are kept.

eden has a small jail located right next to the police station, and it has ten small cells.

More misc. Werewolf headcanons.

For @tornsaviors specifically, Hybrids are not common at all in my world. They are very rare. But they do happen. (We can go into greater detail on this later. I haven't worked all the issues out of it just yet).

They still have superhuman strength and speed. But they also have better stamina and reflexes.

Their healing is even more accelerated than pureblood werewolves' healing would be. (This can also be made faster by consumption of blood, still iffy on this one).

They are not immortal like their vampiric side, but they age even slower than their normal werewolf counterparts.

Due to how overpowered hybrids can be in the media, my personal twist is that anything that could kill either a werewolf or a vampire will kill them. They are not immune to either side's weaknesses.

Hybrids do not react to the full moon like normal werewolves do! They are still forced to shift but have full control over themselves.
