today I burnt my thumb while being an idiot with matches 💀

so I have like

these candles in my room right

and since I'm shit with a lighter and I don't trust myself not to burn the house down with them I went and dug up a box of matches

now usually I am just fine with matches, I've used them before they're not anything new

but today I was just fuckin struggling or something, cause I strike a match right, the I try to light the candle and it just- doesn't work?? I think it's because it's a new candle and I'd never lit it before, but istg the match is burning like all the way up to where I was holding it, and I sure as hell wasn't gonna drop it, so I just kinda frantically kept trying to make it work til the stupid candle finally lit. I finally was able to set the match down on the little plate I had brought over there for that specific reason so it could burn out cause I'm not the biggest dumbass in the world, but burning my thumb sure wasn't fun.

also that bitch of a candle is working just fine now, i really do think it was just the fact that I hadn't lit it before, cause I relit it earlier and had no trouble at all.
