âNo! Itâs science!â
âJust stand there and close your eyes!â
Raven sighed and closed her eyes as the other four moved around in front of her like a magician would move his cups on a table.Â
Robin had made an off-handed comment of him and Raven always knowing where each other were, even if one was on the other side of the city. The other three had a moment of confused and excited yelling about how dope that was, how incredible it is, how did they never know that?
So naturally, they wanted to test the talent. They had Raven stand behind the couch and the other four in a line in front of her. She was to close her eyes and pick out which one of them was Robin. They thought they were making it difficult for her, moving around so much, but-
âThere.â Raven pointed to the Titan on the right end of the line, it indeed being Robin.Â
âNo way!â Beast Boy exclaimed. âYouâre cheating. I bet she peeked. Turn around!â He demanded.Â
Slowly, not caring to play their game but finding it slightly amusing, she turned around to face the tv and windows.Â
âMove, move, move!â Beast Boy rushed the others.Â
âGod, gimme a minute.â Cyborg swatted.Â
âI find this skill quite impressive.â Starfire commented.Â
Robin just stayed in place as the three switched places around him.Â
âOk Rae,â Cyborg called, âhow âbout now?â
She didnât need to turn around to tell Robin hadnât moved. And she didnât.Â
âHeâs still in the same place.â
âProve it.â Beast Boy challenged, not fully believing her. She could after all have looked in the windows reflection.Â
She turned around with her eyes still closed, took four steps and stopped in front of the spiky haired teen who had a grin upon his face.Â
Starfire gasped. âIt is like the videos of the blindfolded children asked to locate their mothers amongst other women.â
âPretty neat right?â Robin asked.Â
âAnd you can do that too?â Cyborg asked. âThis isnât just a Raven following emotional signatures thing?â
âYes.â Both birds replied simultaneously.Â
Raven opened her eyes to meet the masked ones in front of her while the others looked back and forth between the two.Â
âYou know you gotta have a turn now Rob right?â Cyborg asked. âBecause this is just-holy shit.â
Robin nodded, moving around Raven and placed himself in the spot she previously occupied, facing the windows. âI will admit, Iâm not as good as Raven is.â
The others tittered as they moved themselves around, switching spots trying to make it harder for the leader.Â
When the noise stilled, Robin turned around, eyes still closed, and walked slightly to the left, arms wide open and closed them around the empath. âBut I can always find my best friend.â He exaggerated dramatically.Â
The others lost it. Hoots and hollers howled through the room as they tried to fathom how the hell they were able to do that.Â
Robin grinned at the chaos then smirked when he looked down to meet the eyes of the girl he was bonded to. âWhat?â
âDonât you think that was a bit dramatic?â She asked.Â
âThereâs never such a thing as being too dramatic in this house.â He countered.Â
âThen can you at least get off of me.â It was a statement more than a question.Â
âI know you like it.â He teased, knowing fully well she was happy from his embrace by the feelings being sent through the bond. âAnd is it a crime to show my friend my affection?â He emphasized the word âfriendâ again and watched as her cheeks colored. âBecause I had some things planned for you tonight, but if you donât want them thenâŠâ
She rolled her eyes and pulled out of his grip effortlessly. He laxed his arms at the feel of resistance.Â
âYouâre lucky I love you.â She whispered.Â
âIf you didnât then I donât know what you would call what you did to me the other night.â He whispered back.Â
She could only deepen her flush as Robin chuckled, the other three completely unaware of their conversation as they continued to try to fathom the experiment they witnessed.Â
