start working out now. make that hair dresser appointment now. let your next meal be the healthiest youâve ever eaten. move the furniture in your room right now. text that old friend or crush. make a new playlist. go on a run. open a window. it doesnât matter what you do, no matter how big or small change is; change is change. and it will always, always, always help you to turn your life around and clear your head. it gives you that boost, that confidence to be a better version of yourself, no matter the impact it has.
âBut the 8-hour workday is too profitable for big business, not because of the amount of work people get done in eight hours (the average office worker gets less than three hours of actual work done in 8 hours) but because it makes for such a purchase-happy public. Keeping free time scarce means people pay a lot more for convenience, gratification, and any other relief they can buy. It keeps them watching television, and its commercials. It keeps them unambitious outside of work. Weâve been led into a culture that has been engineered to leave us tired, hungry for indulgence, willing to pay a lot for convenience and entertainment, and most importantly, vaguely dissatisfied with our lives so that we continue wanting things we donât have. We buy so much because it always seems like something is still missing.â

Could I just say something real quick?Â
Itâs all coming. Whatever youâre starving for, whatever that ache is that stings your bones, itâs coming. The love, the happiness, the adventures, and the creativity that you are seeking, it is all coming for you. Hereâs the thing, donât let your right now get away. The things you find mundane, keep them. Store them in the pocket of your favorite coat like found pennies. They arenât futile. Do not let them cause you to feel empty and hollow. They are going to be worthwhile. Keep the hunger for what is coming, but please, keep a tight grip on these little ordinary moments that are happening right now, because they â these tiny pieces of this ordinary affair you find yourself in â are the foundation to your extraordinary. And I promise you, if you begin to recognize your right now, youâll see your extraordinary coming. Â
working full time is terrible why do we just accept that having 8 days off a month is normal and okay........ being alive could be cool but we waste it at our JOBS.... sorry iâm just heated about capitalism again iâll be fine
