matcha originated in China about 1200 years ago, açaí has been consumed by Indigenous communities in the Amazon for centuries, and Dubai chocolate was invented by combining chocolate with knafeh, an 1100 year old SWANA snack.
western (usually white but seemingly not in this case) people love to call nonwhite foods suddenly becoming popular in western mainstream culture "industry plants" as if they haven't always existed.
this is orientalism.
#you don't hate these foods you hate capitalism <- ooh there it is!
in a crazy twist of events, senshi has just won the world cup
I learned baybayin, today- really interesting writing system
Recently discovered that the Da/Ra consonants are the same, which is peculiar for me to learn since during our lesson- we learned about a Ra consonant with a specific but similar character to Da.
I'm still pretty new to this, so forgive me pls
Okay so, so far, I know that spelling in baybayin relies on how the words sound- so no silent letters.
Obviously my penmanship in baybayin is bad since I never wrote in it before. I just wanted to write in it more because I genuinely think it's so interesting
- So, all consonants always have an "a" at the end.
- Dot at the top of a consonant means you're changing the "a" at the end of it into either an "e" or an "i"
- Dot at the bottom is sort of the same, except it will either be changed into an "o" or a "u"
- Cross at the bottom of a consonant means you're removing the "a" at the end.
Gonna decorate my phone case with stickers hol' on
Gonna redraw some old btd6 fanart I made, I'm not really..? Feeling them anymore so

Guys if you’re donating supplies for the Venezuela earthquake relief please try to scratch out the barcodes of the products 🙏 it looks like sadly some of the donations end up being resold instead of provided to people who need them in some cases so this is for now the only way we know to prevent it from happening. Thank you so so much to everyone who’s been helping ❤️🩹
Important information
Hi, sorry for being inactive these past few days. Maybe not many of you know that I am from Venezuela or maybe you do, if you saw the artwork I made about the election fraud in Venezuela. The thing is, last Wednesday, June 24, Venezuela was hit by two consecutive earthquakes, the first with a magnitude of 7.2 and the second of 7.5. Our country is not used to these kinds of natural disasters, and that has become very evident; there are thousands of people missing and injured, as well as many houses and buildings completely destroyed.
Fortunately, my family and I are doing well, though the experience has been completely traumatic for me. I spent two days unable to sleep due to fear and the uncertainty of whether my house would be the next one to collapse, especially since some of our walls have cracked.
Please, I invite you to inform yourselves about everything that is happening in Venezuela. I will be leaving a link to a masterlist here in case you want to help my country in some way. On my part, I am considering opening emergency commissions to cope with this situation, as well as to help family members and acquaintances who were left homeless or whose houses were severely damaged.
If you read all of this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time. I would also really appreciate it if you could help me spread this information; any kind of help is deeply appreciated 🫂💖💖
I missed my ocs so much, you don't understand
I never told any of my friends this since I'm embarassed by it but when I was younger, I really REALLY liked singing
I don't sing anymore, it's rough on my throat

We decided to celebrate Jimmy’s birthday today and we ordered sashimi for jimmy to celebrate him…
And well…
Happy (late) birthday Jimmy!!!
About ten years ago I decided that the next step I needed to take in my life was to accept and explore what it meant to be a failure and to have failed. This infuriated almost everybody in my life and clearly terrified a lot of people. People do not want you to accept failure. They dont want you to like... Sit with and think about it and pick it up and turn it arpund in your hands and really examine it. They want you to keep throwing yourself against the impossible walls until your body explodes! They do not want you to say "alright then, I've failed. What does that mean for me? Im still here. What does the life of someone who has failed look like?"
This makes people very angry and panicky.
My mental health improved in ways it had not in the previous DECADE once I stopped. And. Sat. With failure. And thought about what my failure ... Was. And looked at the structures that produced it and examined them critically.
It is so taboo to fail and admit it openly and talk about it. It is so taboo to talk about or think about failure in an accepting way rather than hiding it shamefully until you experience a degree of success in some area which allows you to present the past failure as "a stepping stone" to your current situation. Fuck that. We are put in positions of guaranteed failure by society every day and then punished and shamed for it. Lets fucking talk about failure
To be honest, although accepting failure when it becomes a stepping stone to success is good and all that- but I appreciated op for saying that even if there is no degree of success, it's okay to accept failure.
We often say that we are not perfect beings but sometimes, I feel that we don't... fully understand that. Like that phrase is easier said than done.
I suck, I really suck at different stuff- I fail and will continue to fail and accepting those facts will technically help me in success but also with parts of me that I always saw as shameful.
