InsomniaHyena here, (Or just Hyena), author and illustrator of the FNaF Fanfic "A Wound Left Bleeding"! This is just a little side blog to put everything pertaining to that AU in one place, and a place for people to submit questions and whatever else if they want to! :3 This may be home to other FNaF AU's in the future too! PLEASE NOTE: Aside from occasionally asking for things like suggestions for expression/draw the squad/etc type memes, I DO NOT take art requests.

Hello! And welcome! I'm Hyena! (He/She/They/It) This blog here is where I post and keep up with everything to do with my FNaF AU's! Currently I'm actively working on three of them!

AU 1. A Wound Left Bleeding:

“A Wound Left Bleeding” Or just AWLB/FNaF:AWLB for short is my current main project, and part 1 of the fan fic can already be read in full, here! (Link) I'm currently working on part 2, and in the meantime, updating FNaF:AWLB Remnants, a fic that's a collection of one-shots taking place in between parts 1 and 2, Remnant's updates on a mostly monthly basis (Link) As for the fic itself: “Shortly after the Missing Children incident was left unsolved, Henry Emily plans to pack up what's left of his life and try to move on elsewhere, what he didn't expect was bringing Michael and Elizabeth Afton with him. The allure of the familiar, and of false hopes however, can do more harm than good, and old wounds are left to bleed can inflict new harm on others when not properly faced and allowed to heal. AU 2. What Was Lost, What Was Found: (Title may change.)

“What Was Lost, What Was Found”, Or just WWLWWF/FNaF:WWLWWF for short is the AU I've done the second most for so far, after AWLB, There's currently no fic for it, but a link will be added here when there is. However, for a small taste of it, I did write a “Non canon” first chapter that sorta gives a small idea of what it may be like, here's the link to that for now! (Link) As for the fic itself: “If there was one thing this generally unremarkable town has to its name, its the countless urban legends and local folklore stories it has to its name, and the way that just as they seem to fade, something happens that makes them feel like they have at least a little merit to them again... Within the span of a few years, Michael feels as if his entire life has fallen apart, after he and his younger brother sustained life altering injuries, on top of their mother falling horribly ill. Michael is ultimately left to step in as a parental figure to his two younger siblings, Evan and Elizabeth, to spare them from their neglectful father. Seeing him obviously stuck in a depressive rut, Michael's two closest friends, Charlie and Sammy Emily are determined to try and pull him from it. On a whim, they convince Michael to team up with them on a school project to investigate some of the local folklore, a project that ultimately leads them to far more than they bargained for, and yet, perhaps just what they needed as well.” Related Tags on this blog: FNaF: What Was Lost What Was Found AU

AU 3. Through The Static:

Through The Static (Sometimes just TTS), is a “species swap” AU of sorts, with most of the animatronic characters being humans and the humans replacing the animatronics (with a few exceptions here and there), At the moment it's the AU with the least to it's name here, but I'm working on it! Similar to WWL,WWF, there is currently no fic, but there is a “teaser” chapter you can read here! (Link) As for the fic itself: “Freddy, and his friends and roommates, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy, live a relatively uneventful life, working weekends at a generally rundown pizza place/arcade, “Pizza Circus”, owned by a man who simply has better things to do than keep the place in tiptop shape it seems. But it stays open all the same. Things take a turn for the strange however, when Pizza Circus' aged animatronics suddenly break down, and are replaced by new, top of the line machines that are a bit too life-like for comfort, and begin warranting all kinds of curious attention from all kinds of colorful characters in the local community. Mysteries begin to unfold around these oddball animatronics, and in turn, add a lot more excitement to the lives of Freddy and his friends. So… This yeen’s been thinking. Quite a bit really. I do apologize for not posting in March but, I don’t think I’ll post this month either or, really, any month for the foreseeable future aside from Art Fight. I know I’ve said it before, that in some capacity or another, I’ve been posting online for around 1 and a half decades. I got to thinking about that more, about me, my art, and just, why I’m doing this at all. In the beginning, I did it cuz I wanted to improve my art via a community, via finding people to share and enjoy art with and, even then that didn’t really happen much if at all. And over a decade later I don’t feel like much has changed except for the fact I second guess and get more anxious and feel more down about my art when it’s time to post than I did when I was just a kid throwing my little pencil doodles up on DeviantArt, lol. Now, I get excited to create something, only to feel saddened by the potential quiet or worse, potential backlash if what I make isn’t good enough or has a problem I didn’t see or so on. I love creating stuff still, but, I seriously asked myself last month: What would I make if I had no intentions of posting it to the public? And… I couldn’t answer myself, I couldn’t decide what I’d make if I was truly just making stuff for me, for my friends, for the areas where I know it’s not just being tossed into a void of online spaces. I couldn’t tell myself what I’d make with no one else in mind but me. I draw what I want to, yeah, but, always through the lenses of it being for “someone else” in some capacity too. I’ve basically stun-locked myself when it comes to writing because I’m so scared of making a mistake. I haven’t been able to do much of anything with my FNaF fics in ages because of that. Always worried I'm just not good enough. In general, I’ve found myself wanting to even bother with online spaces less and less and less these last several months and well, at this point, during March and into this month, my mind just seems to have settled. “I’m done.” I think. I’m just done trying to have a presence with my creative work online. I still wanna do art fight, but beyond that, I run down the lists of places I do post and have posted in the past and I just don’t feel like posting again. I don’t feel like I’m getting much out of it anymore if I ever fully did. I feel I never found my place, my audience, my “community” in the art spaces. Nothing. I appreciate those who do on occasion leave a few nice words for my work and can never thank ya’ll enough for that! So again, thank you! <3 but overall, reflecting on all those years spent trying to find and figure out “When do I find my space here?” and never feeling like I found it and now, not even knowing what I truly want to put pen to paper to make just for me when tasked with making something no one else ever has to see, it’s a sad thought to me. So, yeah. Idk. TL:DR: I’ll post art online for art fight/art fight related stuff. But otherwise, at least for the foreseeable future. I think I’m just done posting things online... Maybe one day I’ll come back to posting online, with new, shiny and improved art and stories and a more positive and hopeful look on finding whatever that space I fit into is. But for now, don’t hold your breath for new work from this tired ol’ Hyena aside from the yearly art fight. Till next we meet! Sorry again for ultimately skipping the art post for February. While I'm still pretty happy with the TADC art I'd done, I just typically get the vibes no one wants to see me draw TADC, so I'll refrain from posting any fan art I do of the series moving forward. That being said, while they are still simple doodles, I will actually have some FNaF stuff to post next month in March. Speaking further on FNaF stuff. I did my best to get my thoughts (my anxiety, riddled thoughts.) together on why I've backed up and held off on continuing to update my fanfic, I won't bother re-posting the whole thing here but it is over on Ao3 as the latest update to Remnants. Thinking over it more since making that post earlier in the week. I think I'm going to make the choice to keep postponing the next chapters of FNaF: AWLB, and am, in fact, going to rewrite the whole thing, well, the whole thing as in the remaining Remnants chapters, and part 2 at least. Idk when I'll have that done, but, yeah. I think that's the plan going forward. To use the version I have now are a reference and just, redo it. I think it'd work out better to use the current version as a frame work and do a whole redo, rather than trying to edit bit by bit what's already there. As usual, I'm still very much up for any tips or resources that might help when it comes to writing, a medium I am still very clumsy and uncertain with.

What websites and/or books do you typically use for like, just generally learning about things you want to include in stories? Whether it's more general things like idk, injuries or illness, or more personal experiences, emotional or mental health for example. Sorry if I'm not phrasing any of this well, I just genuinely don't know where to start and don't really know where else to ask/how to find ways to better start. A big concern I have with my fanfics, is that my inexperience isn't allowed so to speak, I'm not allowed to give it a try and be given guidance on what wasn't the best so I can do better next time. a lot of the times it seems like the mentality is "get it perfect the first time or get "Canceled" and like, I'm struggling to get eyes on my work in general and I've been posting online in some capacity for 16 years now. >.>;;;; and AWLB part 2 is, in my opinion, quite a bit heavier than part 1 was. As are some of the remaining one shot chapters. I just want them to be both what I set out to make, and something acceptable. I know I can't make something that makes everyone happy, as no one can do that, but I don't want to make something that crashes and burns so hard that I unintentionally sink what little bit of attention I can get for my work. ^^; I'm not the smartest, but I never mean to cause harm. simple as that. Anyway, that's pretty much it, writers, fanfic, general, nonfiction, whatever, if you happen to see this, what kinds places do you look to learn more? Thank you kindly to anyone who answers. :3

Lil update: I'm gonna try and get my post for February up sometime this week, but no promises, been pretty distracted from drawing by lots of things so far this year, but I do have some simple TADC doodles to share over on my other art blog for February, just gotta get some finishing touches, watermark, etc on em first. Secondly, about the FNaF Fics. I'll keep this short but the gist is: I'm still very attached to them, and still plan/hope to have them in a state I feel I can share the rest of AWLB one day and relocate my motivation and attention and energy for the other fics I want to write one day too. but the main thing is, again, as mentioned above, my mind is in a ton of places rn. and just, in general... idk if it's good enough anymore either. Last year some instance made me feel more and more worried and uncertain about my own writing, that it's not good enough, that if I don't do things in a way that can please everyone, I'll have what joy I find in writing ripped away from me. I could sit and articulate the why and how and etc as best I can for ages on all the anxieties I've ended up with, but in the end, I don't think it'd do any good. So I'll leave it there. I love my fics, I want to finish them and share them one day, but rn, there's some big ol' mental blocks that just say "maybe, this isn't worth it" and "you've not done it right, Hyena! one wrong move and it's all ruined!" and the like. So for now, fics, sadly, will remain on indefinite hiatus. But all the same, I do want to get back to them one day, if for nothing else, for better or worse, to let more than just myself see how AWLB was going to end. Thanks for reading! Sorry I really haven't had any new FNaF stuff to post, I still love the series! The motivation and inspiration to work on my FNaF AU's just hasn't been there lately. I dug up some older sketched from AWLB AU though. At the time I was gonna try and make a bunch of little keychain designs of as many AWLB designs as I could. Got a good several sketches made and, then lost motivation. ^^; But I figure it won't hurt to share the sketches regardless of if I return to them or not. :3 So, here's the main Funtime animatronics as they appear in AWLB. The top image of Funtime Foxy would've been how these were going to look finished, was going for a kinda pencil coloring style similar to the ones I drew of the Glamrocks a while back too. I still find the sketches pretty cute, so maybe I'll return to them in some format eventually. :3
