I don’t either. I would be in total zombie mode. Still a lot, but better. Mhm, they’re the first people to get to a scene. They clean people up for doctors and nurses, and they lose a lot of lives. Cops would get more traumatic scary stuff, with threats and guns. If that was what?

It sounds like an awful idea. Definitely. Yeah, so really they likely see the worst of it. Most people don’t realize that I’m sure, like you said; it’s probably not something many think about. Mhm, I know I couldn’t do something like that. Medical emergencies are one thing, that’s completely different. Hm? Oh nothing really, I’m probably just reading into things. I’m good for that.

Me too, I don’t function well without sleep. It’s amazing it took them as long as it did to cut back. 80 seems much better. Yeah, I mean I didn’t know that much about them until I started researching the medical field. But you’re right, first responders see some bad stuff. I think it’s common for cops to get as well, that’s not medical field, but still any first responder, y’know. Oh… I wonder if that was what Jor- I’ll be fine, promise. I’m not always careless.

Oh, I could believe that. I think any traumatic experience could cause that, or characteristic of it at the very least. And first responders see a lot. Why?

Very zombie inducing. Understandably so, I would be making mistakes with less working time than that. Compared to 100, though, 80 seems good. Yes, for sure. I just don’t think a lot of people see paramedics as work being that traumatic, but in reality, it’s gonna be more traumatic than doctors and stuff. Because I’ve already lost my luck at a party, and I don’t want that to happen to you.

I think it used to be 100 plus hours worked weekly, but they made it drop down to like 80, with a certain rest amount required between shifts or something. It’s still a lot, but not as bad. Well that as well, yes. I was thinking more about the guilt, so I think I’d be better off a nurse or doctor. Unless I get sick of it but that’s unlikely. I still say you don’t need to worry, but you’re welcome.

Holy shit, that sounds... Ouch. That’s way too much. Like, there’s only 168 hours in a week, and if you’re working 100 plus more of them... Guilt would definitely eat away at a surgeon. I’ve heard it can do a lot to a paramedic, too, y’know? Like, apparently a lot end up with PTSD. I’m still gonna worry.

For sure. Oh yeah, I think that’s why they cut back the hours some, it was more actually. That, and I mean really if you make one little mistake you could seriously hurt someone. I’m not completely sure I’d want that on my conscious. I guess it’s a good thing I already like coffee. Alright, alright… For your sake I’ll try.

Jesus, how could it be more? Seriously hurt someone and get sued. Yeah, it’s a scary thing to think about, but I think a lot of jobs have things like that that would weigh heavy on a conscience. Yeah, that is good, then you won’t have to force yourself to drink it. Thank you.

Yeah, it makes me worry a little less about the future. Me too, I probably would not have come up with that on my own. No it isn’t, especially not with something that demanding. Still, I guess one day off is better than none. If I go into that I have a feeling I’ll basically live off of coffee. I’ll take it. You’re seriously worried about me? You really don’t need to be.

It’s always good to have a little less to worry about. Yeah, and being that exhausted could be not good when people’s lives are at stake, y’know? I can see why you think surgeon would be too stressful, though. For sure, so you better start getting used to it now, huh? Parties can be dangerous, I don’t like thinking about my friends possibly getting hurt.

They can do everything else, though. Yeah, you should definitely research it, just like I need to actually research law school. It would be, but working 16 hour shifts and being on call 24/7 does not sound like a fun time. I still have a little ways to go before I hit seventeen. Just be careful is the main thing.

Yeah, some ideas are a hell of a lot better than none. I'm glad I could help you build on it and give you some input! Still, one day off isn't a whole lot. Being on call for 24 hours a day, 6 days a week sounds terrifying. Mhm, you win by a few months. It won't, but it's the best you can do.

It’d be more entertaining than sitting in a classroom, that I do know. Mhm, hopefully when I hit seventeen here shortly I’ll calm down a bit, but I’m not fully betting on it.

I think so, because I’ve seen one before rather than a doctor when I was sick and she did everything my doctor normally does, but she had him write the prescription, so maybe they can’t do that. I’m not sure, that’d be something to look into. If it was less school, I’d be totally cool with it. Yeah, I know. I’ve been lucky so far but I’m sure that’ll run out sooner or later.

Yeah, I think that’s the one thing they can’t do. If you include residency as school, I’m almost certain it’s less time in school. Yeah, be careful. The luck will probably run out soon.

It really does. That is something to think about, I never really considered that. I think there’s a lot of work for nurse practitioners as well, though I’m not sure how much school that requires. But it’s something to mull over, so thanks. Hilarious by being idiots, oh yeah. As long as no one gets hurt or too fucked up it can be, I agree.

Mhm, and they can do most stuff doctors can do, right? I doubt it’s as much school as doctors, and nurses get to work in hospitals while still in school. Yeah, it’s another option for you to think about. Mhm, getting too fucked up can be dangerous.

Definitely, since that’s like four years, and then I think med school is another four. Then the three to seven for residency…it’d be a long time. But I guess it would be worth it in the long run. Um, I would enjoy the medical field, I like science and that kind of stuff but I mean both really. I do get them occasionally. Kinda sucks, huh? You can still have fun without drinking, but yeah, if you do, let me know. Honestly I should likely cut back myself anyway.

That does sound like a long time... Yeah, it would be. Well, if you wanted medical field, you could always look into nursing. Less time in school, more time working, and they help people, too. They get more patient interaction than doctors do, I’m pretty sure. Mhm, it does. I will, yeah. Sometimes it’s fun to just go and people watch, because people at parties can be hilarious.

True, it’s better than nothing and I still have time to make up my mind. It would, especially if I was able to help others through it. Maybe that’s another reason I try to enjoy sleep as much as I can now. In case I do take that path, I have a feeling I won’t get much sleep with that career choice. You seem to forget stuff you wish you could remember and remember stuff you wish you could forget, mhm. Well, hey, if you ever decide to go out to one again and I’m there, maybe we can try to help keep each other in check.

Exactly, you have a long time still to make up your mind about med school, since you’d have to go for an undergraduate study first anyway. Do you just want to help people or do you specifically want medical field? That seems like a solid plan. Yeah, that’s what I’ve noticed, too. I’ll keep that in mind. I doubt it’ll happen soon, though, and if I do, I probably wouldn’t be drinking.

I haven’t fully thought out that part, probably just a doctor. A surgeon would be a lot more pressure, I’d think. It’s a little scary when you think about it, but eh. Mine was rebelling, but I still do that so I don’t know. Me too, we just need to find some kind of balance there, I guess.

Well, you have a little bit of an idea of what you might want to do, that’s something. But if you like your job, it would be worth it, just like the schooling would be. Don’t worry, there are many nights I don’t remember, and others I wish I didn’t remember. Definitely.
