@hymntoapollo
The radiance of God falls like rain.
I adore how in every Hymn to Artemis or Apollo the poet takes a paragraph or so to go: And I would like to take this opportunity to say that they have a mum that loves them to bits and that they would absolutely kill for
alcibiades putting ribbons on agathon from the symposium
Agathon and Pausanias, I promise this is the last time I'm redesigning them. They're blue and green coded BUT the colors are interchangeable between them.
The only thing is I'm regretting making agathon shorter here, I actaully want them to be the same height but I wasn't thinking. Pausanias is standing on something okay. Also he has beard troubles this is the most his beard can grow and it's slightly patchy and thin in some areas. Agathon has bangs.
oh hey apollo! 🌞
Little Apollo shrine.
a little illustration of Apollo and his cows :>
kinda been obsessed with Greek mythology for a while now (bc of epic lol) sooo yea i planned to design all olympians gods (wish me luck)
The Olympia Twins
"When fair Apollo leaves Delphi's shrine and visits the altars of the north, Castalia's waters differ in no wise from those of any common stream, nor the laurel from any common tree; sad and silent is the cave and the shrine without a worshipper. But if Phoebus is there, Phoebus returned from Scythian climes to his Delphic tripod, guiding thither his yoked griffins, the woods, the caves regain their voice, the streams their life"
– Claudian, On the Sixth Consulship of the Emperor Honorius (trans. Maurice Platnauer)
Bust of @zaireetoo-draws 's amazing Apollo design. I can't get over the hairstyle 😞✨❤️ it's so good for him.
(my comms are still open with mythology discounts 🙂↕️)
ASK CHATGPT??????? i would NEVER. i ask all my questions to the pythia at the oracle of delphi like apollo intended.
the fact that zeus is not only a paternal god but also one who has explicitly carried and given birth to his own children... i think it's beautiful & i would love to see more depictions of zeus as the patron and protector of pregnant trans men.
alsooo smth smth zeus consuming metis is actually really wild because zeus' mind is such a major part of his power. the mind of zeus is holy and unknowable and the mind of the universe itself. and metis' name literally means wisdom/cunning and there is even a homeric epithet for him coming from that word. metis is the embodiment of that cunning intellect and she is feminine!!!! the mind of zeus is embodied as a feminine being and zeus integrates her into himself and the product of that union is athena, who governs war and philosophy and politics– the realms of men– in the appearance of a woman (and also rules over weaving, the primary activity of women). and she was birthed by the Father King. i mean can you ask for more divine androgyny?
POV: you just lost a bet to Apollo for saying you are better than him in music
