He closes his eyes, pausing. There really was no use getting stressed out over things in Sumaru when he wasn’t there…

With a nod he looks to her, mentally accepting this. It would take a lot of getting used to, but he had no other choice, did he?

“Tatsuya… I’m usually the brother that ends up doing all the worrying. I just hope he’s all right.”

Maya doesn’t give him time to dwell on that, either; she’s using her tie as a means to try and draw the frightened cat out, and she seems to have attracted its interest.

“Really? Is there a pet store anywhere nearby? He’s probably hungry, too.”

Katsuya couldn’t suddenly decide he was going to take in a stray cat, but she was awfully generous to resolve to take it in without so much as a second thought.

“Are pets even allowed in your apartment…?”

There he goes again, although she can recognize his honest concern and need of taking care of almost everything as something good it wasn’t entirely harmless. “You worry because you care, it’s normal. Tatsuya-kun is only more shy than you- but I’m sure he loves you all the same.” She speaks with confidence on the topic, brotherly love is surely a beautiful thing that not many can comprehend. Devotion she can admit envying, as she had no one but her mother but hopefully, could form her own family and solidify a beautiful bond in a later future.

The kitten is like a small step and she doesn’t waste time on bringing it up into her arms when having the opportunity.

“Wanna come to check? I don’t know my way around that well, maybe we can find it faster with the two of us.”

“Here it won’t matter, when I return then Ulala can help me! Yuki too.” Ulala might get mad, though -- Maya isn’t very reliable at times and she’s fully aware but can go an extra mile for certain things. “What do you think?”

“I will be getting to the bottom of this, vacation or not. Abduction is a serious offense…”

What if Joker’s here too? He can’t spend a single moment relaxing either way; but he’ll have to think about those things after he rescues this cat. Just another day on the Force… sort of.

He nods at her in confirmation, ready to respond.

Watching, Katsuya waits just a moment for the attack to do its damage, nearly tripping over himself as he moves toward the grate and the cat only to remember his condition.

And Maya seems as if she’s fully relying on him to capture it.

He really is going to ring in his arrival here with an allergic reaction.

“Okay… here, kitty kitty…”

Trying to coax the scared feline out from the sewer is much easier said than done. It bristles defensively as he gets nearer, and Katsuya does his best to seem nonthreatening.

He’d like to avoid hives and itching and uncontrollable sneezing if he can at all.

“Miss Amano… do you think it’d be okay if we just let it run off on its own?”

She places a hand on his shoulder, briefly.  “We can handle it later. Sumaru city will be fine without us for sometime.”

“Your brother might be worried, though. I believe you need to return to him...” Vocals restrain the lingering sadness that attempts lurking in, looking onto another direction. She is aware here it won’t matter if she speaks about Tatsuya, they won’t meet again but the mere idea of speaking his name is enough to trouble the journalist.

Enough of that, she shouldn’t get upset right now.

Maya loosens her tie and takes it off, placing it on the ground. “Maybe he’ll want to play with this and approach us.” She should ask for his jacket to wrap the feline around but leaving his suit infested of fur isn’t exactly a good idea. She doesn’t try to cut in distance, but knows it’s not a simple task --

“I don’t like this sector for a kitty, it’s dangerous.” And literally toxic.  “That’s it, I’ll keep it!”

Maya– a name certainly familiar for some reason, yet he only shrugged and returned her enthusiastic smile. What a ball of happiness she was, hard to remain upset with that kind of person being around, though he did fear for himself on what kind of adventure she was planning to subject him into and what kind of wardrobe was she thinking of making him wear.

“Maya it is,” he let out a brief laugh.

“Pretty name. As I said, I’m called Lancer. An honor it is ta’ meet a fine lady like you.”

Maya stays quiet, watching him from head to toes after his introduction, the resulting effect was another of her vibrant smiles.

“ パンツ? ” No, it was ランサー !! “Oh, an artistic name? Is this why you’re wearing a bodysuit?” Her awful habit of mishearing strikes again, despite the ‘Lancer’ name is equally strange she would have questioned nonetheless the relation -- her own personal (yet forgotten) experience with lances isn’t exactly a good one to parade around with a lancer-type combatant. “Are you allowed to wear something else? I don’t want to ruin your image!”

“Really? You have to be a hundred percent sure you’re able to tackle the day in top notch form! Obviously you look like that but we can never be too sure! I can get you some candy, sweet things always help me a lot.”

Recklessness is one of her charming points, she acclaims nothing can stop her and thus puts herself in risk. It’s not  like she can’t help her curiosity and the vast information that could be gathered from the acclaimed district Epsilon and the texts safeguarded in it. The structure is weak and seems her acclaimed weight was fairly enough to crumble a part on the floor and make her fall right into the lower part of the building. It’s an embarrassing scene, how she ultimately falls on her buttocks upon rigid cement. There are books and notes scattered everywhere, the only light coming from the upper side she opened. Nothing to be worried until she attempts standing up, her leg not responding other than by the electrifying pain concentrated on her knee --

‘Ah, this is going to be a problem later.’

“It’s good to see you too…”

He receives a single moment to enjoy her smile before his heart drops.

“W-What!? Abducted?”

Adjusting his glasses, he frowns deeply, looking back up to Maya.

“You don’t have to say it so cheerfully…”

This woman! Sometimes Katsuya wonders about her. Her positivity seems to know no bounds. There should be plenty of time to focus on that later, though. The cat is of highest priority right now.

“Do you think it’d be okay…? I don’t want to hurt it…”

Pondering, he wonders if summoning Helios would do the trick… but Agi’s not exactly the safest spell to cast in an enclosed area with a small furry creature depending on him.

“I believe Bufu would be better suited for this situation. Just don’t go rushing in once we get the grate off. It’s probably scared, it may lash out at us in self defense.”

If that were to happen, he’d have to rescue the cat and Maya, and that’d probably involve holding the cat, too… having an allergic reaction is not how he wants to ring in his arrival here.

Sugarcoating things is a given, she’s clueless to her own inappropriate commentaries but can’t help finding amusing the many reactions it can provoke. His quick switch of expression receives a heartfelt laugh, partially glad of it -- such familiarity gave a sense of comfort.

“Sorry, sorry... but just because it’s abduction doesn’t mean it is a bad thing!” It definitively is, she’s fairly aware of the implications but that can drive his worries elsewhere alongside her own. “See it as a well-deserved vacation.”

“It’ll be okay, we can do this! My percent of success increased when you appeared! We’ll have a kitty in no time.” She needs to encourage him, somehow. Possible collateral damage aside, there should be no issue so long as she can control her excitement -- Artemis materializes right behind her and she goes quiet for a second, pondering what would be the best approach. “Now, go!” Smaller ice projectiles are directed toward the grate, specifically its corners --

“I’m a delicate maiden so I’ll leave the handy work to you☆ “

The man could only lower his head at the sight of the woman coming to him to give him some advice– almost enough to make him think of Scathach, except that damned woman was not as enthusiastic and bright– she was simply serious and intimidating and weirdly enough, he preferred that. His current company was too joyous, much eccentric for his taste but he wasn’t complaining– she was quite beautiful.

“Heroine, alright…” he continued to chuckle, accepting her adorableness in little pieces. “I, Lancer, would like ta’ accept tat’ neat offer of yours.” Not that he was allowed otherwise.

She seems excited for the prospect of an adventure into the deepest and shadiest stores within the Hive for the sake of cheaper clothing. Despite her involvement wasn’t suppose to be this heavier, she does not oppose the idea of a greater involvement with a stranger -- she pried first anyway and is quite pleased he didn’t reject the proposal.

“It’s fine if you call me Maya! We’ll get you an incredible wardrobe in no time!”

“Who I have the pleasure of helping out, though?”

“You look so pale...” Maybe the commentary is entirely unnecessary, she can’t hold her tongue back for the sake of privacy and maybe obviates her intrusion once her expression reveals concern.

A scar.

Wounded skin, a mound of flesh accumulated top his features. It should be a matter of nothing, if it were not for what it evoked in her -- steps halt and she turns to follow the passing figure.

‘Sudou Tatsuya?’ Although she rather disregard mentioning it, fear is a very latent emotion and it’s undeniable how much damage can a man of his caliber could do. She knows it’s no time to wonder, relieve or even let certain memories attempt spurting (again the Other Side?) when the Sudou Tatsuya should be dead.

Maybe it’s the sudden rush that causes imbalance and her legs do not respond any further, no support provided and can recognize how she could faint in any second. Her head hurts and the pounding increases, leaving her senses numb and in act of reflect, ends grabbing the fabric of his hoodie --

Unknown to him was the reason behind the sudden act of kindness– if it could be considered as one, he couldn’t really say. Half of him was flattered and another was insulted. Did he appear like he was begging for it? Much trouble for someone not allowed to decline offer when given. “Uh, thanks?” Lancer took ahold of the bill, unsure of what to do with it. He tilts his head to stare back at the stranger, seeking for an explanation. “Who’re you?”

Who is she? A question she so dearly loved answering, the mystery it laced around her identity offered a thrill that pumped veins in her blood! She brims of happiness, almost a strange sense of confidence when bearing a smile. “A heroine at your service!” Her deed was a heartfelt action but she was no one to speak about fashion sense -- a mere glance at her clothes spoke better than anything else.

“But I’m usually Amano Maya! Do you need help picking up clothes? I can help you out, I get mine at one yen sometimes!” Don’t let her.

She observes him in daze, perhaps taking her time to consider what sort of approach would work better. Taking steps closer, she extends a bill toward the male. “Here.” Maybe he can get better, less tighter pants with this.

Being a newcomer here means getting the most information he can, but doing that isn’t as easy when you’re suddenly out of police records and resources. He might as well be a bird with its wings clipped, but Katsuya has enough street smarts to know what to do and how to act.

He’s been playing it safe, trying to gather intel without seeming too lost; the last person he’d ask is one crouched over something, but she seemed approachable enough to warrant a few questions.

“Miss, are you–”

Meow. Oh. It’s a cat she seems to be fixated on. Well, as long as he doesn’t get too close–

Katsuya had a familiar feeling about her, from her hair down to her very unique choice of clothing, but that was only from the back. It couldn’t possibly be–

“Miss Amano…?”

He kneels next to her, looking between the trapped feline and Very Obviously Maya.

“What are you doing here?”

The cat’s cries make him frown, and he eyes the barrier separating it from the outside of the enclosure.

“And what have you gotten yourself into… poor thing…”

Katsuya certainly doesn’t have a screwdriver, but perhaps he can devise some other way to free the distressed animal. He has to do something. He’s not about to leave either of them here.

She ponders in silence, what can. From one Suou to another, at least she could meet him and made her wonder where the other would be -- far away as possible, hopefully. “It’s good to see you.” Circumstances variate, she is aware there’s duty and responsibilities to attend, they can’t nor spare time when Sumaru city awaits but she knows bringing it up will worry him further. Katsuya is easy to read and thus, he receives her brightest smile.

“I was abducted! You too?” So much for trying a subtle approach, delicacy is a quality she can’t grasp for too long. She can ask more, but perhaps when the feline is free they can chat as much as they like -- Maya looks again at it, regaining her pensive look. “Ah, maybe we can use magic! Can you summon your Persona? Or would Bufu work better...?!”

District Beta is no place for animals, at least those having yet to be affected by the radioactive environs. It’s quite the surprise leaving her room because of a sonorous ‘meow’ yet the feline was nowhere to be found. Much to her surprise, it was inside one of the sewers from a wall.

Bending on her knees to watch the cat, she frowned almost immediately. It could be dangerous, even if it was just a stray! Nearing footsteps draw her attention and she doesn’t waste a second on worrying if this will irrupt their daily routine. “Perfect timing! I need to get this little guy out from here, can you give me a hand? And a screwdriver, probably.” She’s slow in the uptake and when her head turns, blinking twice and seems it takes more the necessary to acknowledge the familiar face,

“...Katsuya?”

Arguing may be too much of an aggressive description for the conversation, nothing to gain from a person like this -- she was sad for the hellbent rejection and although knew something pushed the other individual to act this way, she didn’t need to be looked down or treated badly for no apparent reason.

Maybe one day they would be able to understand each other? She hoped so.
