Had the depressing thought of Bingqiu trying for a baby down the line, but for whatever reason, they discover/realize Shen Qingqiu can't be the one pregnant, since it would likely end up becoming a very high risk pregnancy. He offers to try anyway, but Binghe hears 'high chance of death' and says fuck that, he gonna be the baby momma now.
(This awakens things within him.)
So they try a few times, and at some point they succeed. Yay! But then Binghe miscarriages. It's devastating, and Binghe takes it harder than he thought he would, but they try again.
They succeed. He carries for a month or two. It fails again.
Both are left confused and devastated. They try one more time, but this time when Binghe becomes expectant again, they rush to Mu Qingfang for answers- but Mu Qingfang doesn't have any. He is, however, determined to figure this out with them, and so Binghe's pregnancy goes under close observation.
During this, Binghe and his husband kinda...pick up their cannon attitude towards 'fate'. Shen Qingqiu is still there, still supportive, and still very good to Binghe, but behind it all is this growing consuming thought of "Of course Binghe can't carry the baby. Why did I ever let myself believe otherwise? This world revolves around a Stallion Protagonist, it'll never let Binghe carry a child to term."
Meanwhile, Binghe is metaphorically picking up the sword and about to fight God. He WILL have this child. He'll storm the heavens itself, tear it from its lofty pedestal, and force it to bend to his will if he has to- though he really hopes he doesn't. That would stress the baby!
Enter the rockiest moment of their marriage since they first married and an entire Arc revolving around communication, hurt/comfort, and figuring out how to keep this child alive; because if Shen Qingqiu had one thing right, it's that what Protagonist wants, Protagonist WILL get.
