I also honestly admit I just.. generally think that even having a "pitch hitter" role is inherently disrespectful towards artists. Like. You're admitting they're adjacent to the "bottom of the barrel" for you, that you would prefer to have the "artists" participate in the project, but you'll "accept" one of the "backups" if you can't get who you want. In my opinion, this could've been kind of easily fixed. Just have everyone be an artist, have a goal of how many pieces of merch you want to get out, make sure enough artists are doing each type of merch, and that way, if something goes wrong, you don't have to say "can you draw something last-minute to fill in for this person" because they will have already drawn it! If this is a FUNDRAISER, why is there even a LIMIT on merch items in the first place when you HAVE artists ("pitch hitters") sitting on the sidelines not being asked to do ANYTHING unless last-minute someone else fails you? Wouldn't you want to have.. every artist create as much merch as they are up for doing. So that you have MORE art pieces to sell for the FUNDRAISER??

Because I was naive and was just happy to be included without recognizing the massive issues behind this structure until re-examining everything after the fact, asshole. Also, I saw you leaving that comment abt "cropping fig's response." I never did that. I will show the screenshot again for context:

I had to scroll in this position to get all the messages in 1 screenshot, you can see the purple scroll bar on the side of the screen, so I assumed people would've noticed that and recognized from the context of my post that I am specifically talking about the issue that Fig DID NOT REACH OUT TO ME, and I was not notified on the status of this potential promotion UNTIL I REACHED OUT TO ASK. My point was about how I was not told if I was going to replace an artist or not and Fig NEVER told me that. I had to reach out to ask. Yes, Fig answered AFTER I ASKED, but that is not the point, which is why I did not think it warranted taking a 2nd screenshot. It should NEVER have been my responsibility to reach out when you say "maybe we'll promote you." Imagine if this wasn't a "pitch hitter" thing, and I received an email saying "hey, your application is pending, but we think you'd be a good fit for the fundraiser! do you have the time/energy to commit to working for us?" and I said "yes," and NEVER GOT A REPLY. They should be confirming this. They should be reaching out to me to say "yes, this person was not available, you are now chosen as an artist," or "no, this person did join in time, updating to let you know unfortunately you will not be given the promotion we offered you." That was my issue. I should've made that clear, but that does not justify leaving these angry and petty comments, and it's getting to the point where I think you might just be Fig's alt.
