Robespierre's agonizing table things I noticed;
Measuring app says its 426cm, which means probably 4m30.
There's fridgian hats engraved in the decorating metal.
Because the blood dried and the museum put plestliglass over it, it's hard to make out exactly the blood flow. But there's one big spot that takes half of the table and one little spot that I have no idea how it can happen- my guess is that they put a sort of pillow under his head and once it was soaked, moved it.
There's cup stains all over the table which is pretty cute.
Everyone that stopped in front of it were looking at the mirror placed in front of it.
talking about lafayette to a french revolution and an american revolution fan are two very different experiences, to say the least…
the post below inspired me so much and i had to draw it
The first rule of studying history is to always try to look for primary sources to check your information, and remember that even those have to be examined critically
The second rule of studying history is that a person can be both one of the worst people to ever walk the earth and a babygirl
Hope this helps!
what's his fuckin issue
"Autism didn't exist back then" then explain him:
my wife said I should post these stupid SJ doodles inspired by Camille's notes
( highlighted part: "[...]But Saint-Just writes at his leisure in his bath, in his boudoir ; he meditates on my assassination for fifteen days[...]"
saint-just…. i love you but please have pity on the poor historians trying to decipher your notes……….. someone needs to send a laptop back in time for him to use PLEASE
Robespierre my love get behind me 🤺

[Napoleon] had destroyed only one thing: the Jacobin Revolution, the dream of equality, liberty and fraternity, and of the people rising in its majesty to shake off oppression. It was a more powerful myth than his, for after his fall it was this, and not his memory, which inspired the revolutions of the nineteenth century, even in his own country.
From the chapter "The French Revolution" in The Age of Revolution: 1789-1848 by Eric Hobsbawm, 1962.
everything is political and it’s not even the slightest bit hard to understand why that is. im so sick of purposeful obtuseness being the norm now. get fucking real immediately like we do not have the time for this
And from a young age, i knew my favorite activity was obsessing over things

Some stuff you leave there, Other stuff you bring back. It’s our job to figure out how to carry it. Is it gonna be in a big suit case, or in a little man purse. it’s up to you.
not to alarm anyone but we have 2026 next week
I love these two so much.
