He had considered it in brief but the idea of having a child with Aranea in the near future was one he was growing sincere to. Noctis was always lax in her hold, the tension where his shoulders stood broad was absent as he eased out of the long coat - leaving it draped around his queen’s shoulders as he moved inside to request for the bottle. It was seen to quickly, where a servant pours them two glasses of the deep coloured liquid. He hands one to her as he settled into the lounge chair, waiting for her to join him. “ A toast, to our long reign, “ he corrected, holding up his glass in waiting.

A cool draft brushed past Aranea’s skin when her husband disrobed, her fingers tugging it around her naked form as a royal servant made their presence known. After accepting the glass of cabernet sauvignon, the dragoon followed his lead and returned to the safety of their room, away from the view of Lucis’ winter scenery. While she stood before him, her gaze softened to hide traces of inevitable worries; Aranea not echoing the pledge but clinking their drinks together even so.

The rim of the glass met her lips, and she downed half the wine in one go, tempted to finish it yet not wanting the servant to return. Moving to take a seat by his side, Aranea pressed herself against him, her head seeking comfort on his shoulder and her free hand resting on his leg. ❛ Only when you’re ready to be a father. ❜ She mused aloud, nuzzles dealt to his neck and her fingertips grazing his thigh. ❛ Though I’d feel bad for the servants. They would have to tolerate another picky eater. Imagine a little vegetable-hater roaming the palace halls. The poor chefs would go crazy with worry. ❜

Aranea laughed at such a thought, her nails slowly nearing his lower body. A sultry tone suddenly overtook her speech, her focus now on kissing his nape. ❛ Want to make one now? ❜ A jest, of course, but the dragoon wanted to get a kick out of Noctis’ reaction.

Noctis smiled as he took a long drink of his own glass, an arm moving to wrap around her waist as he pulled the cloak over their legs. This leisure was almost a luxury as he pressed a kiss to her cheek. It was a lot of responsibility to be a father, one that he would take up in due time. He gave a scoff at the idea of the child taking on his worser habits. — “ Thats how we know they’re my child. “ He grinned, taking another drink before settling the glass down at the table. The dance of her fingers near his hip and thigh quickly diverted his attention however, his alizarin eyes almost darkening as he canted his head for her, squeezing her lightly. The tease though, gets him off guard as he stared at her with wide, blank eyes. “ I- “ He flushed, at a loss as he appraised her smiling features before catching that it was a joke. “ You’re a terrible tease, “ He leered, tugging her as he moved to pin her on the lounge chair, nipping at her collar bone and chest playfully before resting the side of his head on her breast - listening to the sound of her heart thumping in her chest. “ Can I.. come inside? “ He asked after a moment, his lips finding a pert nipple which he quickly latches onto.

“Mhm.” It was unclear if he was following exactly what Noctis was saying or if he was simply too caught up in the motion; either way there was a definitely flicker of a smile on his face. He was never one to lay down and get well, only adding to show how badly the illness had swept through him. The fever only calmed under that damp, cold cloth even though he was surely heating the water up in the process.

No interruptions, no one to call them apart, it was nice. Gladio did attempt to push himself up onto his elbows to watch Noctis but his muscles were too weak, instead simply slumping back down and closing his eyes when that cloth was placed on his forehead. Rather than hot, raw heat, his skin was tingling with temporary coolness and he nodded, swallowing thickly and licking his lips.

“Yes… feels better… He reached out and grasped Noctis’ hand, opening his eyes ans he pulled him closer. “Stay.. here, with me please?”

Noctis placed the towel down once the water felt a little less tepid and more inclined to cool. He had thought to do another round of sponging before Gladio’s hand disrupts his mechanical process. It surprises him that the elder still had the energy to manhandle him, grunting as he clambered onto the bed and laid beside him albeit a little unwillingly. “ I should be caring for you, not just keeping you company. “ He huffed, resting his chin on the elder’s chest before making himself more comfortable beside him. He doesn’t remember a time where they could be this leisurely and not fear Ignis or Prompto walking in on them. He gave a quiet sigh, easing his head up to press a kiss to his cheek before nuzzling him contently. “ I want you to be well, “
