I am truly devastated by the comeback situation. The fact that all members are finally available, even LAY, and we're still, somehow, not getting an OT9 comeback is insane to me. I don't know anything about the Korean legal system, but if it's as corrupt as ours, I would bet SM continues to win every lawsuit for the same reason any multi-million dollar corporation wins its court battles. Money is the only thing that seems to move anything these days. I just...the fact that CBX keeps requesting documents and keeps getting denied??? If there's nothing to find, why not release them?
I don't know what I want to happen. I wish CBX could win, but I don't think they will. And if they keep pushing, I think the chances of SM ever letting them participate in group activites get smaller and smaller. So should they let it go for the sake of the comeback? I don't know. Honestly, I guess I wish the members still with SM would just...leave. But I'm sure they have their reasons for not doing so.
I also don't know what to do about this comeback if CBX is excluded. I don't think a full-out boycott is the answer, because that's unfair to the participating members, but I'm admittedly too depressed by an OT6 comeback to even want to participate. I will probably listen to the music, just to see, but I can't see myself buying the albums. Like...does SM know how much money they're going to lose over this? EXO-Ls have been foaming at the mouth for a full comeback. I would have bought every version of an OT9 album. I would have bought all the merch. I would have watched every livestream. I would have streamed the album 25/8. And I know I'm not alone. And now that enthusiasm is just not there.
To be clear, I am not angry at any of the members for the decisions they have made. SM is the only villain here in my mind, and I place all of the blame on them.
Anyways, all of this is just upsetting. I'm not as involved in the fandom as I once was, but I still love this group, and I would love to see them all together again. Ultimately, though, I think I just want what's best and fair for all of the members...and I guess if that means we have to keep waiting for a full comeback, well, it is what it is.
