(important) Headcanon!
((ooc. So when Robin wakes up post-Awakening after having been found by Chrom, he doesn’t suffer from his amnesia inflicted by Grima anymore–he wakes up and after a chance to come to, realizes he can remember his mother, and important chunks of his childhood. This is because when Robin sacrifices himself, he kills Grima, and in doing so, kills any ties he would have shared with the dragon. This includes Robin’s amnesia–it was a side-effect of Grima’s failed attempt to take over Robin’s body, yes, but it’s still something that was caused by Grima. It wouldn’t make sense for Robin to continue to not have any memories after slaying Grima, and having been revived by Naga. But he doesn’t remember all of his lost memories at once, either, since Naga was afraid suddenly hitting him with ~20 years worth of memories would greatly overwhelm him. So what she did was make sure he was revived with memories Robin thought to be important–his mother, which was his only family before the Shepherds, and again, important parts in his childhood and upbringing. The rest of his memories are all “there”, but Robin just hasn’t uncovered them yet. He remembers them in time, though, and I’d imagine some of them are remembered via a trigger of some kind.
This also means that, when Chrom and co. find Robin out in that field, once he completely comes to and after the initial reunion with his friends, Robin realizes he remembers his mother vividly and, frantically, asks Chrom to take him to her. Of course, this would also lead to Chrom eventually revealing that his mother is currently ruling Plegia, so Robin tells his friend that they need to leave for Plegia as soon as possible; that he wants to see his mother after being separated from her for 3-ish years. Though, Chrom would also probably reveal that the rest of Robin’s family are in Plegia also, which would just urge Robin on to want to get there even more. This also means that, after the events of Awakening, aka Post Awakening, Robin will probably never return to Ylisse unless it’s an important trip of some kind, like something done on business or just to pay Chrom and his family a visit. He is the crown prince of Plegia, and so has every reason and intention to stay in Plegia because a) it’s his home and b) he will eventually take the thrown from his mother, and in the meantime needs to shadow her. ))
Body/ Self- Image Headcanon
While Robin’s build is far from extremely muscular, it should be noted that he is not physically weak, either. His brute strength doesn’t come to par with units such as Chrom or Lon’qu, and doesn’t even touch Basilio’s, Vaike’s, or even Frederick’s, but for a unit that is arguably more useful as a mage than a swordsman, he is still quite fit. His stomach is flat, and although he doesn’t have defined abs, he does have a well toned stomach, partly from a workout routine he tries to keep up. His chest and biceps, however, is what Robin is really proud of in regards to his own body. His pectorals are quite defined and very well-muscled, as are the tactician’s biceps. This is mostly because of his training routine for his swordplay, so his chest and upper arms are overall well defined, and perhaps not something someone would expect the average mage to possess. His back and shoulders, while defined with lean muscle, are not quite as spectacular as his chest or arms, but they are not ‘boney’, either. Past his stomach and chest, to his waist, hips, and legs, Robin’s confidence begins to be lowered. His hips are lean and narrow, – as should anyone’s be with his body build–, and although his thighs are covered in lean muscle and defined from his years with the Shepherds, he still thinks them to be less than desirable, and he thinks the same of his lower legs, unfortunately.
Robin makes an attempt to keep his lean but muscular build for a few reasons: he needs to have at least a decent level of physical strength if he wants to wield different types of swords with relative ease, and simply because keeping an athletic body is good for one’s health. He makes an effort to try and stay in shape, partly because he fears falling behind, or losing his ‘touch’ with swordplay, but also because he needs to stay in good health. He has far too many people that depend on him to not stay fit and lean, and regularly tries to remind himself of this so he does not become some liability for his family.
TL;DR: Robin isn’t as buff as some of his friends, but his physical strength shouldn’t be laughed at either since he still has to be strong enough to wield certain weapons. He has a lean and lightweight but powerful build.
