You know what I’m actually mad about this now. I can understand preferring someone’s performance as the character, but if you decide to draw the broadway cast, go fully through with it or just draw the two river cast! It’s not that hard! 

The bmc fandom has so many little things that are just outright racist, and it just slides? Like everyone knows Michael is part Filipino and part Ecuadorian, yet in fics he only ever says “Mahal kita” in Tagalog and that’s it! Not to mention he’s constantly infantilized and called “the gay uwu baby who needs to be protected” because he had one panic attack?

Christine goes largely ignored by most of the fandom, despite her being a canonically nd woc?? She sings two songs and is arguably one of the more fleshed out characters, but she gets either villainized or pushed aside so people can ship Jeremy and Michael.

And back to my main point, Britton Smith and Tiffany Mann are amazing! They’re great actors and great singers, yet hardly anybody talks about them or draws their versions of the characters? It doesn’t make any sense!

honestly when i first saw this page (blog?) i thought you were going to be rude/homophobic but i think you have some really good points and views of the musical. i used to ship boyf/riends and that was part of the reason i figured out i’m mlm and trans but i agree they don’t have any chemistry. i think Jeremy and Michael both are toxic but they’re teenagers, anyways what i mean is i think they’re really toxic to eachother and i agreee with you that they’re a bad ship. from what i remember, there was a lot of fetishization on the boyf/riends side of the fandom and ironically it caused me some internalized homophobia.

Hi, sorry, but I just wanted to ask a question regarding me writing Jeremy as a Jewish character. I’ve done research but I don’t quite trust all the sites I’ve visted to not be whitewashed.

So, in summary, when Jeremy’s mom left, he and Mr. Heere kinda stopped “celebrating” Shabbat (they still lit the candles and had challah n stuff, but it was kinda quiet and they didnt really interact). And then, when Mr. Heere shapes up they reconcile with a proper Shabbat and its a nice friendly dinner scene with father-son bonding.

Would this be a bad idea? I dont think it is but, obviously, im no expert.
