paul matthews, you are so special to me
Made an Eridian oc using the picrew
They have the personality of a ball of sunshine. They lost one of their parents to the sun mission and became a deticated student for their equivalent of highschool and college. Now they’re old enough to be on the bio-dome team as a new engineer hire. They’re extremely interested in earth materials, and meeting Grace & Rocky of course.
Any name suggestions for the fella?
sorry to post religious ads but i got this ad
and i can't get over how the artist/graphic designer clearly went in knowing they were replicating classic holy white bird imagery and did a decent job with the editing too, except they either don't know what a dove is, don't know that the bird being specifically a dove matters, or just got real lazy and chose the first all white bird that came up in search results because that is fully a seagull in that image

Uhm so basketball I guess? This is creepy
Don't drink alcohol y'all
That's- very uhh not good
So convincing
*you find some blue rose petals lying on a roof*
“What bullshittery is happening today-“
*You hear coughing in the distance.*
Seagull jumped across the rooftops to her friend.
"Your sick, you shouldn't be patrolling- it prolongs recovery."
"I'll be fine, it's just a cough."
There are more blue petals around her.
“A cough, of flowers?”
"Ummm..."
For a moment, she considered lying. Considered trying to pretend the flowers were coming from somewhere else. Maybe in the past she would have. But she owed it to her friend to be honest.
"Yeah. It started a few days ago... haven't been able to figure out why."
"Doctor. We're going to find that hero doctor."
"I think she's out of town right now... tried to go to a regular Urgent Care, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong."
"Of course a regular urgent care won't know what's up. This isn't an everyday sickness."
"You're right... I assumed it was something that ... one of the villains did... but she says she doesn't know anything about it."
“Which she?” Seagull asked coldly, already making a suspect list in her head.
"... Belladonna... I thought it might be Penguin or Black Mask because it started during a mission involving them, but it doesn't seem like their style."
“I can always go- find out. If you want.” Seagull failed to hide the excitement in her eyes at the thought of having another planned encounter with the rouge.
Obsession didn't like how eager Seagull seemed about that, but then she had also been certain it was Belladonna at first.
"I really thought it was her at first, but I think she was telling the truth when she said she didn't know anything about it."
“Ok, so then we do ask Ivy or Honeysuckle if they know anything. Probably Honeysuckle, she’s less dangerous.”
"That sounds like a good idea."
“Give me some time to track her.” Seagull disappeared over the rooftops.
"Alright, thanks."
She managed to say before another fit of coughing hit.
Seagull sent coordinates to her friend. And spoke into comm. “I’ll shadow you for backup, but my presence might make her angry.”
// @honeysuckle-not-ivy incoming
"Alright."
Obsession headed to the coordinates, and carefully approached Honeysuckle's location.
@honeysuckle-not-ivy
The ex-sidekick was staking out a factory, trying to learn the schedule and figure out when she can attack without harming the poor minimum wage workers.
“What are you doing here?” She asked Obsession without turning around.
"I want to ask you about something. Not related to the factory."
She turned her head to look at the vigalantee.
“Did google give you bad house plant advice?”
"No, an old friend taught me to use better resources than that. My question is about a disease. Do you know anything about an illness or curse or poison or something that makes a person cough up flower petals?"
“Have you’ve never heard of Hanahaki disease before?” The villainess asked causally.
Then Honeysuckle laughed. “Oh you poor thing.”
"So it's bad then?"
The name Hanahaki sounded familiar... wait, hadn't she seen that in a fanfic somewhere?
“Well theirs flowers growing in your lungs, it’s going to make it hard to breathe, and you might suffocate.”
She waited a moment before asking. “Does that sound bad to you?”
"Yeah... that sounds pretty bad."
“So, who’s the special someone causing you all this trouble?”
"It's ummm, none of your business. Thanks for the info."
She turns to hurry away.
The village’s just laughed with amusement
She leaves, her face an embarrassed flush beneath the mask, and finds somewhere to try to compose herself before contacting Seagull.
@fry-stealing-seagull
Seagull was in front of Obsession a mere second after her friend contacted her.
“My database says that the flowering committing dresses is fictional, and often used in fanfic. How did you get it?”
"I have no idea. I didn't think it was real."
"Anyways you should confess to them. It might cure it."
She looks away.
"I... maybe... I don't know..."
“If the fanfic is correct the other option is hoping your feelings and flower just go away which basically never happens, or getting surgery to remove them and forgetting everything about you little somebody.”
"I don't want to that last option..."
"And your not allowed to die on me so just waiting and hoping isn't realistic."
...
Just tell him, and all this coughing might be over. What was so hard about that? But it scared her. To share what she had kept hidden for so long... she didn't deserve to love him. The thought of finally revealing the truth scared her. Maybe more than the thought of dying.
She couldn't look at Seagull. This whole thing was so embarrassing, and it was worse because of what he meant to Seagull.
"I'll... think about it. "
“Good. You should get some rest while you think. You’re not exactly in patrol shape.”
