Campaign 2 Episode 14:
Molly ‘WHO IS IT!?’ Tealeaf
Fjord Yasha Fjord Yasha Fjord Yasha Fjord Yasha Fjord Yasha
how to tell if your worldbuilding is Bad
i didn’t wanna reblog this just cos it doesn’t deserve to get seen but:
a) dwarves don’t share the gender binary that humans use, heterosexual versus homosexual is meaningless to them
b) gnomes have such a predilection towards illusions that gender is primarily based on presentation. because of consistent interaction with humans, they tend towards visually hetero relationships just for sake of public ease but gnomes all know gender is an ilusion
c) halflings are super community oriented. they would be incredibly accepting of homosexuality because frowning on someone for liking a particular gender is counter to community building
d) goblins don’t believe in sexuality they believe in food
e) orcs are 100% butch lesbians and bears. they are totally gay with a small side of being attracted to muscles and soft hairy bellies “but if they’re all gay how do they reproduce?” magic rituals motherfucker it’s a fantasy world
f) tieflings never have a predominant culture and tend to ascribe to human values, with a bit of “i’m already an outcast, so anything goes”. i don’t wanna say tieflings are super gay just because there is a lot of baggage that comes with the evil demon race being super gay but tieflings are super gay
g) dragonborn carry a lot of draconic values, one of the most notable being vanity. if a dragonbron is gay, they will literally be the embodiment of that “move, i’m gay” video. taboo my ass just try to stop that dragonborn, they’ll show you the meaning of flaming
bottom line here is really that if you thought the dnd races were straight you were so wrong. i am going to find you and rub my gay ass on your player’s handbook
bury me with this post it’s perfect
I feel like characters can be whatever sexuality they want without having to deal with “Teiflings are super gay” and other racial sexuality molds
Start a business selling faulty rpg items. Such as brass knuckles that do 1d6 lightning damage but due to conduction you also take damage.
A flail made from aloe leaves so it healed as it dealt damage.
A ring of frostbite. Over time your hand slowly gets more and more frostbitten.
An enchanted scythe. Once in battle, it becomes painfully obvious the “enchantment” was Minor Illusion. It’s actually made of cardboard.
An axe that doesn’t do damage but makes enemies smell nice.
A bow that only shoots where you’re aiming if you’re blackout drunk.
A sword that does untyped area of effect damage. With d12s. Many of them.
A sword that is actually just a really big butter knife.
A crossbow that when not in use becomes a large raven to fly around on its own. It has its own, very specific ideas as to when and where it is in use.
A Staff of Goodwill that rather than making peace with others just gives you bargain bin items.
a shuriken that is actually a fidget spinner
A human made sword that is just a small sharp person
A weapon that is actually secretly a doppelganger
A tome you can only read if you drop ink in your eyes
A magic scabbard with a sword, when the sword is drawn, another scabbard is underneath
A potion of Heeling. It only repairs damage done to your heels.
An item that boasts giving you the strength of 10 men, but instead just gives you DID so you have 9 people in your head alongside you. They never stop talking.
An item sold as speaker but is actually a box that screams for no apparent reason.
Vanishing spell ink, you write your spells down and they vanish permanently an hour later
A quill that behaves as if it were the animal it came from.
+1 weapon, it’s a bogo whatever weapon you buy so that if your players buy a +1 rapier in character then they get 2 rapiers for the price of one
A sword that’s half off. You only get the blade.
A potion of darkvision that make everything look dark
A mask of many faces but only lets you look like your own face.
A goblet the entirely drains if you pour too much liquid into it
An orb of future sight but only sees a single nanosecond into the future.
A microphone that instead of projecting your voice, it instead makes it micro, by making it quieter.
Scorching Hand gloves that scorch your own hands.
A scroll that casts cone of cold but instead of a cone of ice, it creates an ice cream cone in the hand of everyone in the cone.
A robe of many things but every one of those things is a signed photo of danny devito.
A “Ring of Clarity” that makes characters aware they’re characters in a game.
A sentient torch that refuses to light in dark areas
Warlock? I think...
I got this idea from s friend of mine who made a drow warlock named after her cat, this warlock also had a cat so I had a theory that she was actually the cat. Anyways for this you’ll need to make any type of warlock and then take pact of the chain then just collaborate with your DM on how that would work out, maybe you have the stats of the animal or maybe the animal took over the brain (this can be used by Hexblades but replace the animal with your weapon). The one I created worked best because he had been taken over by his cursed axe and I played as the axe would rather than the character.
Fjord theory
So I saw a theory that Fjord is a water Genasi. I really liked it but it seemed like there just wasn’t enough. Here’s the Og theory and a little bit I added myself
1. He has no tusks (which Travis said we’ll find out later)
2. He’s a gradient green rather than grey or light green, which gradients are a Genasi trait
3. His eyes are slits which are also a Genasi trait
4. He didn’t use his resistance half orc feat, but previously he had resistance to acid which is a water Genasi trait
5. His sword grew all those barnacles when he activated his blade curse
6. He’s a sailor therefore accustomed to the water (not all sailors are Genasi
7. Genasi tend to have names based of their element. Fjord means a long, narrow, deep inlet of the sea between high cliffs
The biggest part that practically confirmed it was when he responded to why doesn’t he have tusks.
Wizard Divination
This post isn’t so much as prompt but rather a situational D&D idea. So an amazing friend of mine is running a sci-fi campaign (another player and I are doing collaborative characters) and with all of the ideas floating around my head I haven’t been able to decided what to play! So eventually I decided to watch episode two of Critical role, I really liked Calebs character in that and decided to make a divination wizard. He’s a scholar who dropped school to steal from important government buildings with his gunslinger friend. His abilities come in handy when needing to see who or what is around the next corner, finding important magic items, weapons, or (especially) books.
Bard, College of Blades
Now I know, I know. Where’s the Player Hand Book classes? The next one will be from the Player Hand Book! Anyways on with the show! To make this blade bard, you’ll need to pick the College Of Blades and the following spells
Cantrips:
Mending, True Strike
1st Level:
Heroism, Longstrider, Thunder Wave, Disguise Self
2nd Level:
Cloud of daggers
Now, you’re really only gonna be using Cloud Of Daggers if you really want to embrace the blade dancer. Once you have your spells, you should move on to equipment. For this character your instrument should be “dance” (talk to your DM about this), and your weapons should either be two short swords, or a short sword and a dagger, I picked these because they’re light one handed weapons. Your background it doesn’t really matter though entertainer works the best. And last but probably least, for skill proficiency the only one you’ll really need if performance
Wizard, Transmuter
You’ve dedicated your life to the magic of transmutation trying to create a stable out come of transmuting themselves trying to recreate the Druidic beast shape. Take proficiency in Alchemist tools and Brewers tools, for skill proficiency pick medicine, the rest are your choice . Ask you DM if you can use the druid cantrip, primal savagery, your spells wont matter to much but when the time comes pick alter self. This character should try to get DNA from random non humanoid beings to conduct experiments. Another fun aesthetic touch is to use either material components to cast spells, or have a scientific flask as your spell casting focus! (Also this character should only have damage spells from the school of transmutation)
Paladin, Oath breaker?
You’ll have to talk with your DM about this one about class and oath breakers. An Oathbreaker is a Paladin who has disobeyed his oath guidlines or gods will. Oathbreakers can he extremely dangerous so proceed with caution! Normally when an Oathbreaker dies his corpse and mind are turned into an undead threat named a Death Knight. So the overall prompt for this one is a suicidal Oathbreaker who does not know that he’ll turn into a Death Knight.

Mighty Morfin Power Druids!!!
So a few friends of mine decided to play an “all druid campaign”. So they brought the idea to “the DM” (it’s because he’s really good at it). So his response was what is this? The Power Rangers? It quickly developed into “The Mighty Morfen Power Druids”. In all of our campaigns so far there’s been at least one Mighty Morfen Power Druids refrence. It will forever be a meme.

Rogue Inquisitive
This one is inspired by a werewolf oriented campaign I played in (as a human), anyways, on too it! A Rogue (inquisitive archetype), who’s extremely paranoid and is very suspicious that one of the other PCs of having a horrible case of lycanthropy. This character always will carry at least one piece of silver at all times and can’t sleep without it on them. The Inquisitive does their best to keep an eye out on the suspect and never sleeps during a full moon.
