Finally having Kamala say “embiggen” and then actually do it was SUCH a great moment. And then them dropping the word “mutation” in regards to her DNA with the ‘97 X-Men theme playing in the background? Yeah… the showrunners for this show knew what they were doing and how to get the fans hyped.

I’m also personally a big fan of how they changed her powers and made them look. Besides just wanting to differentiate her from Reed Richards, stretchy powers never look great in live-action anyway. It’s always very body horror adjacent. Her powers in the MCU allow her to do everything she can do in the comics AND MORE.

Just so people know - since Ms. Marvel is a show about a Pakistani family, they showed us how Hasan and his family were uprooted from their home on the Indian side of the border and forced to move to Pakistan because they were Muslim. What they didn’t show was the fact that the same thing was happening to Hindus and Sikhs on the Pakistani side of the border. Of course, I’m not saying that they should’ve, because it’s not a part of Kamala’s story so it isn’t the main focus. Plus they can only cover so much in 45 minutes. But I just want to clarify that because I know a lot of non-South Asian Marvel fans are learning about the Partition for the first time from this show and it’s important to know that just because certain things were not shown on screen doesn’t mean they didn’t happen in reality.

The horrors of Partition are so widespread that many families are experiencing the after effects to this day. I'm glad that they're showing it, raising awareness about it, because the Samjhauta Express is something people need to know about. They need to know how much the British Colonizers took from us, because it is very integral to show how we have suffered and are still suffering because of some people whose greed was unmatched.
