throughout my lifetime, periods of stress & illness have corresponded to weight loss, while periods of recovery have corresponded to weight gain. If people I see once a year are going out of the way to tell me how healthy I look when I’m at the lowest point of health in my life, and those comments disappear once I start actually recovering–that tells me we have to have a serious conversation about the way our culture criminalizes weight, and uses “health” as an excuse to do it.

GOOD point. my reasoning is based on a fallacy of body stereotypes. given no other information about these two individuals other than gender, even assuming that lietliet is wrongly equating gender with sex, it’s impossible to know which of the two would be the more take downable in hand-to-hand combatant. i was assuming that both prisoners were at their most emaciated and unwell, just based off of being held captive in a room where a stranger is coming in to shoot them for no reason.

even correcting for this, however, i think i still shoot the man because studies have shown that in a single-instance social dilemma, women are more cooperative than men, and in mixed-sex groups men are less cooperative than women. therefore, i want a woman on my single-instance social dilemma team.

i mean i know it sounds harsh but that’s just science

Yo, Trump got less votes than Romney; any claims of a "surge in support" from angry rural voters is bullshit. Maybe they were excited, but they didn't win the election for him. Meanwhile, Hillary ALSO got less votes than Romney--and about 5 million less than Obama. The rise of Trump means nothing but what we already knew: partisans vote for their party, and turnout is all that matters. This year I failed to help get out the vote, but i sure as hell won't next time around.

I did a worse job turning out the vote. I got a little lazy and a lot overconfident. It’s a hard lesson to remember, but find a way to be this mad in a year and a half during the midterms. And be as active as you can outside of politics, making sure to fucking TAKE CARE OF THE VULNERABLE PEOPLE who will be hurt by Trump.
