throughout my studies in interior architecture and amalgamations of contributing influences (hobbies especially) are shared in my blog! i'm very selective vis-a-vis my finest and notable works and perhaps hobbies to inspire and provide sense of influence to embark on the journey of my career and lifestyle as a whole. i hope y'all would enjoy my blog and perhaps give feedback so that i can improve next time :)
The study of student community embarks the requirements for fulfilling tasks as students. Workplace is a subjective space where it does not corporate a fixated place. The students, as occupants, influence the nature of space function of such place to achieve the tasks where cultivating their methods are feasible. The relative culture of students initiate the subject matter of multi-purpose space. Hence, hybrid emerges to incorporate the idea of harmonizing aspects of fulfilling different tasks in a common place. The emphasis on workplace should be a pinnacle of the space function as primary.
Phase 1: Site analysis
SEGi University & College Kota Damansara tower has shoplots alongside the premise. These shoplots are mostly empty as assumed the businesses weren’t sustainable. Given the major demographic within the vicinity is students, cultivating such space should endorse the aspects of SEGians (students of SEGi) in term of needs.
Conducting case study allows the insight of elements to consider in order for the design proposal to be successful towards the benefits of the community.
Phase 2: Design development
With the information gathered from site analysis, the development progress towards design aspects. Constructive and consecutive design structure should be conducted properly and organized. All potential designs should be in relation to design feasibility and respective to project brief and progressive design.
Identify and evaluate the aim and objective are important in order to achieve the requirements of the project brief. Aim and objectives should constantly be referenced to throughout the design progression.
Sketches of furniture and space planning would help to envision the potential perspectives of the proposed design.
Phase 3: Design proposal
In accordance to the finalize proposal, the design development data should be referential and brought to progress the next phase. Producing drawings and perspectives should be of documentation structure and formalized.
Drawings:
Autodesk AutoCAD 2017
Adobe Photoshop CS6 rendering
For further details that need description, detailing drawings adhere special furniture design in order to pertain the sense of idea for constructing the adverse design.
3-D Perspectives:
Autodesk 3ds Max
Vray rendering
The study model was built with scale 1:100 for visualizing the space planning dimensions.
Materials:
Foam core / board
Manila card
Mounting board
Phase 4: Presentation
The contents suffice the summary of the project as a whole.
Advance Interior Design 2: Project 1 - Activating Underutilized Spaces; Innovations in Public Space; Designing for Community
EXHIBiT proposed by Qayyim
In search of a suitable underutilized spaces within the compound of SEGi University & College Kota Damansara, the most attractive point of attraction is criminally underutilized. Hence, selecting such space would be respective to the criteria of the project brief.
The centralized hall of SEGi University & College is the icon and identity of SEGi itself, as seen in the logo. The vast staircase leading vis-à-vis the grand hall. The hall is unfortunately underutilized as it occasionally activated when events / activities are held in that space for such occasions (i.e. promoting, students enrollment). Upon analysis, the absence of the value within SEGi was not described for public viewing. Thus, proposing an exhibit comprises of SEGians finest works developed and produced by the students to emphasize and illustrate the value of becoming SEGians.
Phase 1: Finding underutilized space
Scouring different facilities and spaces within the premise of SEGi, the feasibility and potential activation was taken into consideration. Although, such design and spaces are to be cautious of due to the specification of building shall not be disrupted or disturbed.
For instance, the hallway was selected but upon further analysis, proposing a design will disrupt the circulation of the hallway resulting violation of building-by-law code, moreover the allocation of the space seems underutilized despite of proposing a recreational space for community. Therefore, the hallway is non-feasible for proposing design as it is a standard requirement for a building design factors.
Eventually, the selected space was the SEGi dome hall as the consideration factors suffice the requirements and aspects of the project brief.
Phase 2: Design development
Analyzing the site was then encouraged for further analysis to uncover the potential benefits and predetermine the utilization of design. Illustrations of the analysis findings help to develop sense of understanding and ease. Design proposals were sketched to visualize the potential design suitability.

Autodesk AutoCAD 2017 for furniture layout plan
Autodesk AutoCAD 2017 for floor rendering
3-D perspectives:
Butterpaper, drawing pen, T-square, adjustable set square, and pencils are used to draw

After extensive case study, upon the young demographic needs are trending for cafe and music with lofty ambiance. Hence, guitar is a notable and well-known instrument embedded to music as a whole. The variations of genres incorporated are represented in a spectrum of tune in terms of volume, composure, style, etc. The balance between the low-end and high-end of that spectrum leads to an archtop guitar (known as hollowed body guitar).
The evolution that evolves within the archtop era has distinct elements that represent the unique factors of the guitar, thus these elements were influenced into Archtop // Lattes cafe design through space planning.

Piano Bench proposed by Qayyim, Dhia, and Alshlash
The furniture design was an outdoor bench to which the creativity embarks within us, the designers. We were tasked to use recyclable materials provided by the client: Anggun City Rawang New Town.
The design came about when the discussion about the culture that reflects Anggun City Rawang New Town as a whole. The ideal atmosphere that Anggun City envisioned was to centralize the infrastructure of the land development through cultural centre. With music as the media used to gather the community, musical instruments were evaluated for inspiration and conceptual idea. Hence, piano was discovered and known to be an integral instrument to incorporate music.
Phase 1: Design proposal
Drawings:
Autodesk AutoCAD 2017 production
Adobe Photoshop CS6 rendering production
3-D Perspective:
Autodesk 3ds Max
Mock-up Model:
Popsicle sticks for bench
Manila card for tyres
Phase 2: Constructing furniture
Materials:
Reusing wood pallets - dismantle them and assembled according to the drawings
Five used tyres of same sizes were selected
Nails are used to adhere
Phase 3: Transport and furnishes
Benches were transported from SEGi University & College Kota Damansara to Anggun City Rawang New Town. Furnishes are done there.
Furnishes:
Sanding
White natural paint
Beige natural paint
Phase 4: Handover, display, and ceremony
Once the bench is completed, the benches were allocated in the open hall for display. The award ceremony held by presenter - Anggun City Rawang New Town and organizer - Bugz Studio for the students of SEGi University & College Kota Damansara for participating in Anggun World Earth Day 2018.
