i really don’t care what you think poetry is or isn’t.
When i am happy, i am in control; And when i am writing, i am trying
To learn my demons by name, so maybe i can tell yours too.
By Elise Gravel
In all that time I've been learning how to give theoretical space, there was not much time left for the real ones.
I also now need a bag of patience. A fresh bag of chalk would also be cool.
you may reach me at the ungodly hours these days whilst i try,
try terribly to sleep on thoughts of change and things behind.
one more month, and a job offer to finally breathe; you might not hit me anymore but i have not stopped shaking.
Maybe this is how it all begins
To end; when I can finally hold on
To a breathe that will be unwasted on
You; maybe I will not suffocate to death.
Your brain's rounder than your good arse with no sharp points.
i woke up today from getting lost in a jersey-barrier maze, when that song found me - the one we both loved. it feels like it’s been forever since we last met. not that one. i mean the ones before the great wall. not that one.
i can’t believe that i’m only now realising; maybe we - but i’ll never know the things you never want to speak of.
i tried finding your ghost today. i remember the sneaky crumbs you left; a trail leading back to you. it’s gone now. but i remember walking it a couple times when i was curious enough, to watch you from a distance you’ve allowed.
it’s funny how it seemed like i’m the open book. i’m tired of turning a side to the world now.
did you read them?
i want to scream like
fingers pulsing on six strings
guitar - electric.
shall I eat cat before I love one? cat sashimi or cat pizza?
will I eat the one I love? cat belly or human tongue?
love is a disquired taste; cat ruined it for us.
