A small friend.

This girl is so majestic I had to include every acceptable photo.
*timidly swims across dashboard*
update on the ying yang tank! it’s finally complete! all I need now is to figure out how to keep the algae down on the white side (my white pre filter sponge looks green yikes!)
A shrine with a court of crimson
Yummy wood.
I’m so excited, my yellow shrimps are starting to show saddles! They still are pretty young, but I’m going to just explode the day I see babies. Also pardon the diatom algae, the tank is going through it’s ugly phase.
The bottom pic is still too young to tell what sex it is (probably male), but it was just posing nicely.
Rainbow darters from SW MO , not a game fish, but very beautiful. Found here

Behold the Mombasa lionfish. RAWR!
In the wild, #lionfish can be found in the Indian and Western Pacific oceans on rocky reefs, where they spend the day under overhangs and ledges and come out at night to feed. They are fed shrimp and silversides here at the Aquarium. But in the ocean, they are opportunistic eaters and will eat almost anything that fits in the mouths.
Unfortunately, the common lionfish (the brown and white version) have also made their way to the Caribbean Sea and parts of the Atlantic Ocean, where they are a voracious #invasivespecies.
See three species of lionfish in our Armored and Venomous exhibit. (at New England Aquarium) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpFyMh3AcB8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=119bsrpndkp5x
I’m always in love with his red. <3
My Athena ❤
He’s dealing with a bit of bloat right now, but he’s still really, really ridiculously good looking.
Beastie-pie is doing so much better today! The instability has righted itself and he’s nice and active. He actually chases me when I go past the tank!
