He’s in a group of Yale boys gathered around the pool table. More specifically, he is leaned over it, aiming the cue carefully. He is about to show Victor and all their friends that he is the superior pool player of the two, if he gets this shot right he can win, and hopefully shut his pompous friend up for a few days. Something catches his attention though and he looks up to see her enter. He gives the cue a half hearted push, barely touching the white ball, and passes the cue over to one of his very confused friends, frankly he’s not even sure who takes it as he mutters, “finish the game for me, I need to talk to that girl.” 

Determined steps lead him halfway to the bar, where the truly astonishing girl is already positioned, accompanied by another girl. Then he stops, questioning himself for a brief moment. He glances back at the boys who still look confused, but Victor offers him a thumb up. He inhales and moves on, closing the distance between him and the girl. 

“Excuse me, would you let me buy you a drink?”
