make peace with what didn’t happen, what passed you by. what wasn’t there for you wasn’t meant for you.

things that are always beautiful now matter how bad things are
sunsets
stranger’s smiles
roses
people reuniting at the airport
the smell of books
the euphoria you get when you’re way past tired
butterflies
hugs
the sparkle in someone’s eyes when they talk about something they love
rainbows
the first bite of a meal you’ve been looking forward to
when you listen to a song you’ve never heard before and just feel it

it’s time 2 quit being sedentary. If you are physically able, go outside. Not in a “go outside you strange internet hermit way” but just a “go walk down the street and be present in your own neighborhood” type way. Just noticing the seasons changing and paying attention to people and houses and street signs and critters is very very good for mental health and shakes off that dissociation, depersonalization feeling.
Yes! We did not evolve to live inside small cages devoid of nature and community, it fucks us up, even introverts. Just walk outside your door and look. Feel the breeze, the sun, the rain, the heat, the cold. Feel your muscles move, rejoice in the fact that you can. Look at colors, look at real people in the flesh, look at animals, look at bugs. Watch how the concrete breaks down from water and wind and wear. Watch how the dandelions will grow through the cracks, their marvelous yellow blooms, their magical seed pods disperse in the wind to spread life in new places.
