Aftg is such a trip because like. The timing is objectively off. It's better that way. It's badly written but actually no it's not. Here's a whole new sport. We lied, its just lacrosse in a silly hat. Trauma galore. By all known laws of book tropes, the main couple should be toxic as hell. They're too cagey and paranoid and possessive not to be. But the main couple, not caring about trope law, creates the healthiest relationship ever written anyways. It's problematic as fuck. It's the best series ever. It's completely unrecommendable. It's gay, but not how you think it'll be in the first book. You'll hate it the first time you read it. Six months later you'll have a whole blog for it.

Aftg isn't a book, it's a fucking experience.

Is it just me that thinks abt how Kaz's middle name is probably 'Jordan' and how it's probably bc their parents let Jordie picked it out, but he was only four years old and he only knew his own name? Great, now we can all think abt it and suffer-

honestly if neil hadn't been so grievously injured in the aftermath of Baltimore, andrew probably would have tackled him in that hotel room and clung to him so tightly with no intention of ever letting go again.

Neil whispering sweet nothings to Andrew in French when it’s just the two of them in the darkness of their bedroom. After a while, Andrew starts to understand them and he learns them so that he can whisper them back to Neil

Do you think that Neil ever gets worried that Andrew will actually get bored of him eventually?

Like maybe after practice one day he'll be rambling to Andrew about exy plays and how the practice could've gone better. He stops mid sentence as he realizes he has been talking about the same thing for five days now. He goes quiet as he searches his brain for a new thing to ramble about to keep Andrew interested. To keep himself interesting.

But then Andrew says, "keep going, I'm listening" and Neil's face lights up as he continues his rant.

Andrew doesn't really listen to the words Neil is saying, he just listens to Neil's voice because the sound of it is comforting and grounding. Andrew will never get bored of Neil or Neil's rants because he could never get bored his voice.

Something I think about a lot is, like, Aaron is part of Neil's family. Like when Neil thinks of the Foxes as his family, he's not excluding Aaron from that list. In the aftermath of Baltimore, when he thinks about how he feels so safe and secure because he's surrounded by his friends, Aaron is included on that list.

Even when they're at odds, even when they don't particularly like each other, Neil never once stops thinking of Aaron as one of his own.

And if you think for a second that if Aaron was in trouble and Andrew was unable to get to him, Neil wouldn't step up? You are sorely mistaken.
