i think one of my favorite things about uma musume is that, despite being a game about sports and top athletes who are also idols, it is basically always the "correct" option when you're given an event in-game that lets you to tell your horse to take a break. tell them to be healthy. don't let them do extra training. if they want to splurge on a treat, you should give them that treat, because while occasionally there are negative consequences to eating too much at once they're rare enough that the reward is worth it.

from a game design perspective this is because energy is precious, so anything that restores energy so you don't have to rest/have better training odds is basically always the correct option in an event, and eating or taking a break normally restores energy, right. but i like that in-universe this means that "your horse girl is overtraining" is basically always treated as Bad, as opposed to giving in to the sports anime trope of "doing extra practice makes you better" or "not eating while also expending lots of calories is a good idea". no! overtraining hurts you for minimal reward! when you can apparently run at 60 MPH, you SHOULD eat a bunch of energy-dense food, actually! injuring yourself by pushing yourself at low energy can end your career, actually! take a break and eat cake, you will need the rest to beat the arima kinen in the coming days.

i had a dream last night that grantz and tanya were in a pokemon tournament together doing double battles, so i have to imagine that it was a divine message

picking a partner pokemon for Grantz was so easy because i remembered an illustration by @/feng_ft on twitter which featured him with one, and it was so perfect and adorable that in my heart it was the only option

tanya's partner on the other hand was difficult. i wanted it to be a fairy type, but I also wanted it to be able to mega evolve, so I landed on altaria. its a little funny bc mega altaria has an ahoge like tanya

the mega stone she uses is inset into arceus's ring thing, as a sort of vague nod to god/the type 95. if i had some time, id definitely redo the outfits and color them. plus make full teams. but for now this is what I have

When I applied to nursing school in Finland, they did check for criminal record, but only checked for sexual and violent crime. They legit did not give a flying fuck if you have a previous criminal record from a history of doing stupid shit due to a substance abuse problem from untreated mental illness, for as long as it has never brought you to hurt somebody.
