The Only Five Shoes You’ll Ever Need

OK, maybe not the only 5 you'll EVER need, and the detailed 'accumulators' out there will be messaging me saying, "which do I wear to the gym"- clever answer- "depends which gym you go to". However, what this does represent is the five staples of shoe that every man needs, and when you find the version you love, buy multiples, you'll thank yourself in five years when you've had 10 trips to the cobblers and they still hug your body like your girlfriend used to.

The list contains- but is by no means limited to:

No matter the situation you’ll have it covered with these 5 classics. I want you to engrain this in your head. The Devil is in the detail. What I mean by that is that it’s the small things that count. You could be wearing a £100 suit, but if you have it tailored to fit, with the right shoes, the right tie and the right shirt you’ll look like a million bucks. The Devil is in the detail. Just remember rule #1. Your worth what you wear. Don’t be fooled by a cheap pair of shoes. When it comes to shoes always go for real leather. It’s going to cost you about £200+/-, but in the long run you’ll thank yourself.

My favourite Parisian lounge, La Vue (Bar Panoramique) @ Concorde Laffayette Hotel, Paris

A change of name to begin with, Hotel Concorde La Fayette’s Panoramic Bar is still one, but is now called “La Vue”. Farewell to 70′s interior design, it’s now a refined and trendy bar lounge, whose layout has been entrusted to Italian designer Luigi Copa, making way to a 2-floor bar with 180 seats and a 50 feet long tap-room.

The choice of drinks has been revisited too. It was the task of Stephen Martin, voted best mixologist in France in 2009, and has taken over the place as head bartender. This carte puts great emphasis on the imaginary, and has been inspired by the history of the most famous bars all over the world. Thus, for example, you may be tempted to try the Rive Gauche, a vodka and Sauternes syrup based cocktail, or maybe the Punch à la Romaine, a cocktail dating back to… 1889.
