Trying to be supportive...
So apparently, crows often mate for life & they stayed together until one of them is dead...Dottore spent 300+ years with Pantalone by feeding him the elixir of immortality, treating his injuries and even replacing his lung..keeping him alive..
Lohen apparently used to be an adventurer, but he later joined the Knights just because he was bored... what is his goal? Motive? Honestly, I think his intention is not too deep, and he genuinely enjoyed choosing an ethical way to satisfy his needs for violence 😅🤣
Dead Man's Revenge [Dottore/Pantalone]
The segments knew that Pantalone's true love is the OG Zandik. No matter how hard they tried, they could never make Pantalone smile just as OG Zandik used to make him smile. Full of love & softness, they could never see that again after OG died. Pantalone still treats them well, clearly favoured the segments above all other harbingers. Their proposals are always quick to be approved compared to the other harbingers (especially Sandrone).
But that only placed them as Pantalone's favourite colleagues. No matter how much mora Pantalone provides them, they know it's worth less than the love Pantalone had given to OG Zandik. Only 8 is satisfied with the current ordeal, Pantalone spoiled him as if he were that banker's child. But 8 is too young to understand what others are missing. 18 is old enough to understand, and he is jealous that 8 doesn't have to suffer like he does simply because that child could not ask for something he could not understand.
For 18, being a teenager for hundreds of years, the "one-sided love" hurts more than being rejected by his homeland.
For 20, being in love with an immortal 45 year old man puts him in a position of constantly working on "big" projects just to catch that man's attention.
For 45, he believes he has the most chance in getting Pantalone's love due to being the same age, but he still could not reach OG's level no matter how hard he tried.
65 has already made peace that Pantalone would never love him like he had love OG, so he just accepts whatever love Pantalone had left for him.
But 35...oh 35...even after hundreds of years, his jealousy only grew larger and larger. He did not regret getting rid of OG, he certainly did not regret getting rid of the other segments, even little 8 who craved a different kind of love from Pantalone but 35 did not care, Pantalone is his and his alone. Or so he thought.
Once again, Pantalone is not mad at him. Even after finding out what he had done, that man is still very warm towards him. 35 thought he could finally have Pantalone all to himself, but nothing changed. Pantalone still treats him like before, with a warm and welcoming presence, but there is a distance between them. A distance that Pantalone puts with the rest of the segments as well. OG Zandik is the only one that has ever closed that distance. To be defeated by a dead man, even after hundreds of years to win Pantalone's heart, 35 felt overpowered. Unlike the other segments, he knew he wasn't Zandik. He is just Dottore but never Zandik. He wanted Pantalone to love him as 35 year old Dottore segment, but he lost. Pantalone is forever in love with THE Zandik. Even when he possessed his looks, voice, body, and a part of Zandik's soul, Pantalone's loyalty lies with Zandik. The pain is worse than death. And he did, experiencing death. It's still less painful than knowing he is close to gaining the love of his beloved, but he will never achieve it.
When he lost his body and became just a bunch of data, he could sense the sorrow in his beloved's face. He didn't want to hurt Pantalone, but he knew that there was no way for a happy ending. He took away Pantalone's true love, and he must pay the price for that. He remembered his final conversation with Pantalone, and that man seemed to make peace with his current situation. He didn't seem to care that he would die in a few years due to insufficient stock of the elixir of immortality. 35 had hope that Pantalone would beg him to stay, maybe even shed a few tears, but none of that happened. Pantalone is just tired and accepts his goodbye. Thus, 35's remnants disappeared into the fire, with the rest of the segments dragging him down to suffer for eternity. As he and the rest are burning and melting away, he could have sworn he heard Pantalone's voice saying,
"Goodbye, Zandik"

Leith was there from the moment Harley woke up in the experiment 1354 tape. But his silence always sticks with me.
There are more clues of this: Dr. White says "Oh! It looks like he's waking up." almost as if he's addressing someone else. It's a weird thing to say out loud to yourself.
When a character is moving there tend to be footsteps or a door opening. But there is none when Leith speaks.
Harley senses this - he demands to know who else is out there with him (indicating he can't see).
Leith could have said something immediately, but he just sits, and watches.
So it looks like Leith was just silent...to watch Harley writhe.
That's why I think Leith is the real sadist. Harley's cruelty is motivated by a total disconnect from humanity and his own goals and ideas of "mercy".
Leith, he just likes to crush people under his foot and see how they squirm as he pushes them into the dirt.
One is better than none [Dottore/Pantalone]
Imagine Pantalone holding lifeless 8 in his arms, where just a few minutes ago, happily talking about his new proposal.
He can't put the poor boy down, so he kept carrying the body until it was discovered that all of the Dottore segments are found lifeless except for one who's on a mission in Sumeru. Many assumed he must have something to do with this, but regardless, the segment bodies must be given a proper funeral, according to Pantalone, who arranged the entire thing for all of the segments.
It was a quiet funeral attended by Dottore's subordinates stationed in Snezhnaya. Other harbingers didn't bother to attend since Dottore is technically not fully gone, but Childe did stop by to give some flowers to 8's coffin. Pierro & Capitano later stopped by after the funeral to pay some final respect to 65, a segment they were quite fond of. It is not worth its own mourning period, though, as it's just his segments. Instead, there were some celebrations said to be done in the Palace since the surviving Dottore received two gnosis. But Pantalone wasn't in the mood for some celebrations.
To others, those may just be mere segments, copies of the real Dottore who is now long gone, but to Pantalone, those "copies" were his family, his community. The loss of the real Zandik still left a hole in his heart, but his segments at least filled the void. Even if they're not the real Zandik, they still carried a part of him. Especially 8, sweet 8, who light up his life with imaginative ideas and adorable proposals. He could still feel the warmth from 8's body leaving his arms. He wished he didn't have to let that little body go. He has wonderful memories with all of the segments. All of them have a special place in his heart, including the very segment that killed them all. He didn't know what to say when he met that Dottore. Should he shout? Tried to listen to that segment's reason? Maybe he should just give a cold shoulder for a month or so and cut all his funding. Or punch him in the face... Pantalone thought to himself as he was still sitting near 8's little coffin. He should just have them all buried, but he didn't think he had the right to do that without the surviving segments consent, so all of them are put inside coffins that can preserve their bodies for a while.
Waiting, he was waiting for what to do next. This all happened so fast. It felt like a nightmare that he desperately wanted to wake up from. It takes him back to when he lost the OG Zandik, but at least little 8 was with him, who was also missing the OG Zandik but had to dissect him for the elixir of immortality. Pantalone understood that, though secretly, it took him years to accept that. How is he supposed to accept this? He had many Dottores to accompany him before. Now, all that's left is just one, the most selfish one. Pantalone knew the possibility of this segment wanting to dissect all of these bodies is high, just as he does with the OG Zandik. Can Pantalone allow that? Must he allow that?
As he was thinking, footsteps approached him and, as he turned around, faced a familiar figure, which resembles the ones in the coffins. Dottore seemed to be happy to see him but stopped when he saw the coffins behind Pantalone. For once, he couldn't utter a word, especially after looking at Pantalone's sunken eyes. No, this is not a happy reunion. He wanted to celebrate his success in getting the 2 gnosis, but the one person he wanted to celebrate the most appeared to be disoriented. So he just stood there, possibly waiting for the consequences.
Pantalone most definitely knew that he's the cause. Oh, his "partner" must've been furious with him. It happened again. He will lose someone again. He just wanted to achieve his goals, but once again, he would be pushed away because of it. He will be rejected again. Pantalone stood up and walked towards him slowly. Dottore is ready. He's ready to be hurt, to be insulted, to be rejected, to be - he felt warmth instead.
Pantalone pulled him into a tight hug. Dottore took a few seconds to return the hug. This is not the first time Pantalone was being affectionate towards him, but why now? Shouldn't Pantalone be mad at him? Did he read the room wrong? This didn’t feel right, but he didn't want to say that it's wrong either.Pantalone looked at him in the eyes and cherished his face like it's the most precious thing in the world.
"Welcome back, Zandik."
I like these two in particular
" Birds of the feather don't always have the same fate. "
What if...🥲
Anyway, the thread is very good, link below 👇
Imagine being a Fatui recruit who didn't know about Dottore's segments, saw Pantalone carrying 8 with candy in his hand, followed by an older segment (maybe 35), and immediately thought that the two harbingers are married and had a child 🤣
Weak In The Knees
rough color sketches
All of Dottore's segments are so intriguing.
The ages they are show a piece of Zandik and the interactions between one another is something in of itself.
Like 18 bullying 8, Zandik offering to go in place of one of the segments iirc, them actually kinda liking Sandrone, and them actually liking Columbiana.
My favorite design wise is the plague doctor one.
Yeah, each segment portrays how Zandik was at that point in his life which made me wish we could learn more about them so that we can learn more about Zandik's life.
18 bullying 8 because he feels 8 is too childish and possibly had many traumatic flashbacks when he was 8's age, which possibly feels fresh since they are closer in age, made them constantly bicker.
35 or Omega thinks he's the best Dottore because he is the "peak" making him feel entitled to carry the OG's dream and deleted the rest of the segments to achieve it.
I feel like Columbina might like 8 a lot and fed him lots of sweet snacks and like a neglected child that 8 is, would accept those kind of attention, possibly making 18 hates him more.
Either way, I hope that maybe in Snezhnaya quests, we get to learn more about Dottore's segments from the other characters.
My favourite, of course, is OG Dottore.
Harley is Not Lazy Compilation
Of all the many allegations levied against Harley, I decided to start with the most minor and inconsequential, as well as possibly the only allegations we can actually truthfully say are false.
Number 1, From Elliot:
Number 2, From Elliot:
Number 3, From Lockharte:
Number 4, From The Prototype: "You beat us. Burn us. Tear at flesh. Do you feel it?"
While Harley did not have his Miranda Rights read to him before acknowledging on the record that he did in fact cut, burn, and tear at the flesh, it is accurate and does show that-proving Harley not guilty of laziness by pointing out a much worse crime! *Sigh*
(Personally would rather be guilty of laziness then of beating/burning/tearing other people, but...) Number 5: Harley was so adamant that he do some specific surgery by himself that it made its way into the BBI Proposal document.
Number 5, From the ARG: Harley, internally resents the idea of merely sitting idly.
While I can see Harley grandiosely absorb himself into something and overvalue his important (another strong potential indicator of mental unwellness) One example is when he tells the executives, "When I look at this company we've built"
He has only been at the factory for a few months when he says this, and the company is six decades old.
Note though that he says this directly to people who know better, and he doesn't appear to be "patting himself on the back", after inserting himself into the history of the company being built, he follows up with, "I do not feel proud." This statement is far too transparent for Harley to be coldly stealing credit (like Bruno does later on). Making it feel like in Harley's egotistical (possibly grandiose or narcissistic, but I won't label anything) mind, he has built this 60 year old company alongside the executives...somehow. So I can see Harley overvaluing his work, and Chloe disliking that, but he wouldn't just, stand by and do nothing. That's what about her phrasing angers me.
It's why in The Doctor Cinematic Trailer, Harley mentally categorizing The Prototype along with the BBI experiments as "MY CREATIONS" might not be a continuity error. If my speculation about Harley suffering from grandiose delusions is correct, then he might actually have decided that the Prototype is his creation, even though he literally has to rip apart Prototype's flesh to try and figure out how he works, and even if Elliot is the one responsible for Prototype, and even if he wasn't working at the company when Elliot resurrected Oliver as the Prototype, the prototype is his creation now, logic be darned.
This is a very common grandiose delusion, to sort of "absorb" yourself or see your achievements as slightly exaggerated or inaccurate. But I will refrain from diagnosing Harley.
So I can see what she might have been trying to say, "he gives himself more credit then he should" but that's NOT what she said. She implied that he did nothing and just forced others to do all the hard work while he kicked back his feet and stole credit! That's NOT who Harley Sawyer is. He is horrible, but he is one hard working guy.
He wouldn't simply be "letting" other people "break their back" implies he wasn't part of it.
Furthermore I note that, despite Chloe being at the factory for a few weeks, it appears she doesn't yet know about the orphan experiments yet and hasn't actually worked with Harley in his area of work when she wrote this.
Why can I say this for sure? In the first letter where Chloe slanders Harley as lazy...she says the scientists are sad, but she doesn't know why.
Next letter, it's made pretty clear she has in fact found out why they are sad:
If she's never seen Harley in his domain of horrific orphan experiments, then she would only have seen him, likely standing around looking self-satisfied without knowing who he is or what he does, and concluded he does nothing and is simply looking pleased with himself over others hard labor.
I also notice she doesn't mention Harley again after this letter. She probably wouldn't have liked him much still, given he wasn't one of the regretful scientists, and she was part of the rebellion, which is full of people who seem to like to focus on how outright bad he is, to make themselves feel better.
It's also sad and ironic that if Chloe met the Brain Trust, she would also have met Bruno, the real leech of the bunch, but because Harley is socially awkward enough to sit around and posture for people who he is forbidden to actually tell them about his work, and Bruno seems charming, kind, and doesn't blurt out achievements that have been grandiosely distorted, he slips by.
I'll share a skit I posted in PPT discord for a bit of very very dark comedy:
Chloe on Harley before she sees what Harley really does: "Eh. paper pusher who coasts off our hard labor." Chloe after she sees what Harley really does: "OH SHOOT. OH NO. THIS IS MUCH MUCH WORSE THEN THAT." Harley: covered in blood "I'm so happy I can finally share my own labor with you! Did you think I was merely sitting idly?" Chloe: "I WISH YOU HAD BEEN."
Harley is evil but he's not lazy 🤣
