Paul the Apostle - Who am I?

Greeting, I am Paul “the Apostle” - I am a follower of Jesus Christ and most famously known to be a persecutor of Christians. I am not thought of as an apostle like my contemporaries Peter or John, but more so as a Jewish religious leader, speaking and interpreting the death and resurrection of Christ. Some say I am the founder of Christianity, but that notion is up for debate! However, more than anyone else, I am responsible for shaping the future of Christianity, due to the fact that I wrote most most of the books that make up the New Testament, which has coined me as one of the most important and influential figures in Christianity.

My Letters - Paul’s Epistles

My letters are very near and dear to my heart - I wrote them during my time on missionary trips. These letters largely make up the 13 books of the New Testament and provide an insight into the beliefs and occurrences of Christianity during my time. The letters were addressed to various churches and occasionally dealt with specific problems in specific churches. They discuss "salvation" through Christ's death and resurrection, which is not just representative of the political restoration of Israel, but freedom from sin and death for all humanity. Lastly, these letters are "apocalyptic" in nature, discussing the "revealing" of the truth of the world in both a future and present sense. More specifically, this apocalyptic context was based on how Christ payed the price for our sins in order to reconcile humanity (and the cosmos) with God. Ultimately, just as Christ came once, he will come again in glory for those who followed His word.

My Teachings (Explained):

In looking at my teachings at a more in-depth overview, I should first note of the “New Age” or “Creation”, which represents  how the end of the age has now come in Christ, however, its fullness has not yet reached its full potential. What I mean by this is that the resurrection (in the present) is a sign that death has been defeated and there will be a future resurrection. This also represents death to the “old, sinful self” and resurrection in one’s new identity in Christ. “Baptism” is a representation of one dying and rising with Christ. Ultimately, as Christians we are called to be conformed to the image of Christ, which includes “dying” with Him and being “raised” with him.
