Rey Soloists:
I really like how Rey’s new costume has similarities with Leia’s first costume from A New Hope. Like it’s white
and has a hood
it just reminds me quite a bit of Leia’s first dress
I don’t know if the costume design team for TRoS made Rey’s costume to resemble Leia’s on purpose, or if I’m just fooling myself and seeing a connection that isn’t really there, but I still thought it was interesting enough to share.
This shot of Rey was cut exactly like Han from A New Hope. This was done on purpose don’t tell me it’s a coincidence. Loving all the Rey Solo in the trailer.
“The two women move for each other. And Leia takes Rey’s face in her hands. Despite her heartbreak, she is grateful. She embraces Rey. A mother’s embrace.”

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS (the script)
JJ Abrams on Rey’s parentage... “There’s more to the story”
In other words... RETCON
April 14, 2019... the day Daisy Ridley killed Reylo.
Who’s ready for a Rey Solo revival?
Every time I see reyl0s talking about Rey and Kylo’s Force bond as if its concrete proof that their relationship already is clearly romantic this is what runs through my mind:
Darth Maul and Ezra had a Force bond, Vader and Luke had a Force bond, Luke and Leia have a Force bond. Exactly none of those Force bonds are romantic and 2 of them are familial. Yes in the old EU Luke had a Force bond with his wife Mara Jade but 1) it only formed after they had known each other for a decade and 2) only AFTER they’d fallen in love with each other.
It drives me up the wall that reyl0s act like they are the only ones who predicted a Force bond between Rey and Kylo. They weren’t, most ReySkys and ReySolos were predicting one as well. And based on what we’ve seen so far in canon and even the now non canon EU the fact that Rey and Kylo have a Force bond and that it formed so quickly lends much more credence to the idea that they are family than the idea that they are fated lovers.
Reyl0s like to laugh at us ReySkys for thinking Rey and Kylo could still be related at this point but seriously there’s nothing that Rey and Kylo do in TLJ via their Force bond that Luke and Leia aren’t able to also do.
Oh! I completely forgot, look who else has a Force bond in TLJ:
Huh would you look at that? Another familial Force bond.
A new Star Wars: Episode IX rumor suggests that the upcoming sequel may contain a big surprise regarding Luke Skywalker and his bloodline.
More rumors circulating regarding a big reveal regarding the Skywalker bloodline in Episode IX. And some interesting details on scenes with Luke.
Probably just that... rumors. But at least it’s something. For now.
so if rey and anakin or luke do the same pose it doesn’t mean anything but if kylo and rey do, it does? ok rylos i see you
This is so true lol.
Rey’s parents storyboard leak?
First off, I’m taking this leak with a grain of salt. But there is a new storyboard leak for Ep IX that supposedly shows Rey’s parents. It is said that it shows the backside of a man and woman, glowing white, both reaching out to her and the woman is touching Rey’s face. The glow tells me they are both dead. If there is any truth to this, and I’m very much on the fence, but, it would make no sense for Ep IX to physically show Rey’s parents if they truly were nobodies. Filthy, alcoholic junk traders who sold her for drinking money? Nobody would care. It would have zero emotional impact on the audience. Unless... Rey’s parents are someone we know. Kylo is not a trustworthy source for honesty. And that’s all I am going to say.
me: “i love all seven star wars episodes”
someone: “what about episode 8?”
me:
To everyone who enjoys the subversion of two of the biggest TFA subplots destroyed in TLJ, I have some advice if they ever want to take up writing:
Don’t write a character with a mysterious past, no last name, taken from their family, and put an emphasis on how mysterious the character is, if the end game for the character’s origins is unimportant. Wasting your audience’s time on irrelevant subplots is a sign of terrible writing and planning, and if anyone tells you otherwise or calls it good because it’s subversion, drop kick them in the throat.
Don’t waste time promoting, advertising, or foreshadowing something in your story if you have no intention of actually doing it. Using false advertising to appeal to a certain audience isn’t only immoral, it’s a guaranteed way to lose that audience and their trust forever.
Sure wish I could go into the Episode IX tag without that infestation of R*ylo crap. I just want leaks and canon content is that too much to ask for?
R*ylos don’t interact. I’ve had enough of your BS.
This is Poe Dameron
Poe is a Pilot in the democratic government the New Republic, and a freedom fighter in the Resistance.
These are his Parents, Shara Bey and Kes Dameron. They were soldiers in the galactic Civil War and fought along side the original trio and became close friends with them. Shara died after the war, when Poe was still a child. Kes now fears that the suffering they all went through might have been for nothing as the remnants of the Empire return.
Poe went through agonizing torture by Kylo Ren and the First Order after finding the map to Luke Skywalker, yet he still didn’t blame Finn for being apart of their army and trusted him because he was a good man forced into the wrong side.
Even after being tortured relentlessly and almost dying alone in the desert, Poe still pushed forward and fought with his squad and close friends to destroy Starkiller base, the weapon of mass destruction that had killed billions.
Poe and made the decision to disobey orders and destroy the dreadnought, a decision that cost the lives of many good soldiers, but the decision was the right one since the First Order had been tracking the resistance, and if they hadn’t destroyed the dreadnought, the resistance would have been sitting ducks.
Poe was forced to put blind faith in a commanding officer who refused to tell anyone her plan, his mentor was unresponsive in a coma, two of his friends and comrades were on a suicide mission, while his other close friends were scattered around the galaxy, and all Poe could do was sit in a ship and wait to die as the First Order pursued them relentlessly.
Poe had been forced to watch every single fear he had ever felt come true as he witnessed the First Order demolish the new republic, Kill almost all of the resistance, invalidate every single sacrifice he and his family and comrades had made, and just like his mother’s death, he had no control over the situation.
And yet regardless of all the pain he has had to endure in his life, Poe Knows that he can’t stop fighting, he knows that others are still suffering worse than he is, and he knows that regardless of the enemy, he must stay a good man and do the right thing, regardless of orders.
He’s not a hothead fly boy, he’s not some eye candy to fetishized because of his skin color or sexuality, and he’s definitely never going to betray the trust of his friends, comrades or hurt innocents.
Poe Dameron is a damn good man. He’s a hero, just like Finn, just like Rey, and he deserves better than anyone painting him as the real villain.
THANK YOU!!!! I’ll never understand the mind of a r*ylo and how they have been bashing his character lately. And coming to conclusions based on his new “clothing”. God I wish they would stop with their nonsense.
What SHOULD HAVE Happened in that scene.
Kylo (to Rey):
K2SO (walks in like a damn boss ass droid and not actually dead):
K-2SO knows what’s up! Lol!
Honestly we all have our theories and personal headcanons we have for IX, but let’s take a step back at look at this from Disney’s perspective of wanting IX to be more TFA than TLJ.
TLJ was not a success even if it made a profit. The fact Solo bombed to hell, the fan base split, and they hired JJ back instead of Johnson says enough.
So here are the most likely options. These are options that Disney would more than likely approve of and what JJ would do going off of his TFA themes and movie style.
Luke is alive in some form and is more in tune with his EU or in ROTJ.
Why: Luke’s death was bad for business. Like it or not, the majority who pay tickets wabts to see Luke and the OT characters sell more tickets. Ignoring Luke is like Marvel ignoring Spider-Man/Iron man or DC ignoring Batman/Superman. It’s brand recognition.
Luke would go on to to restart the Jedi Order as the Grand Master.
Why: whether or not you like Luke’s inclusion in EP-IX, Luke is nostalgia money guaranteed and after TLJ and publicly saying he didn’t care anymore, Mark Hamil would not return unless he had a decent part.
Rey turns out to either be Luke’s daughter or finds out her parents were at least good people.
Why: JJ already said Rey was kidnapped and giving her either good parents who are gone or giving her a father through Luke provides proper closure to her family’s arc.
Finn and Cora turn out to be brother and sister, and both are confirmed to be force sensitive.
Why: JJ already laid the seeds for Finn to be looking for his family and the Jedi need more force users. It provides a closure to two of Finn’s ambiguous character arcs.
Rey would go on to become part of the order or give up fighting and become a senator for Jakku
Why: Rey would either want to teach other force users like herself or want to clean up Jakku so no child has to grow up like she did.
Finn would also either join the Jedi Order or go to worlds like his home planet and work as a force sensitive ambassador between Outer Rim worlds and the New Republic.
Why: Finn would want to help a new generation of force users grow or like Ahsoka would think that Orders weren’t for him and want to keep his independence and help the other worlds rebuild.
Chewbacca will stay with Finn and/or Rey and help them with whatever they’re doing.
Why: Chewbacca has already expressed a fondness for them and even said in the TFA novel after Han was murdered that his job was to watch over the kids (Finn and Rey) now.
Leia is made Chancellor of the New Republic and her reputation is restored from Vader.
Why: It’s a respectful and logical way to exit Leia from the movies, yet still use her in the EU.
Kylo is thrown in prison, and cut off from the force forever or dies by his own actions in battle.
Why: This is JJ, so it’ll probably be played as a bittersweet thing either way, but Kylo will have to face consequences for his actions.
Poe goes on to become a general in the military of the new republic and potentially starts a family.
Why: Poe will continue fighting the good fight, because that’s just him and regardless of what Lucasfilms confirms his sexuality to be, I don’t see them making a huge deal about it. Mostly cause they’re cowards and fans are crazy.
Finn and Rey either end up in romantic relationship or in a romantic position to be in a relationship in the future.
Why: Realistically thinking, Finn and Rey ending up together would be a positive thing, and Disney always wants to cash in on those things. furthermore , JJ Abrams already set up a relationship between them and even Johnson didn’t ignore it completely.
Lando will retire and return to cloud city as its senator and work along with the New Republic.
Why: Like Mark, I doubt Billy would be returning if they were gonna pull a Lonly Luke like in TLJ. Lando’s handling along with Luke’s seems like it’ll be an apology for how the OT cast was treated.
Rose more than likely will become an engineer with the New Republic.
Why: Rose knows knows Tech and the Republic could use her skills.
The First Order is destroyed .
Why: JJ is not writing a fascist apologist movie. The FO will fall.
Reylow isn’t happening.
Why: The cold hard facts is that JJ isn’t ignoring the relationship he set up with Finn and Rey for something he doesn’t approve of and Disney would not want the backlash that would come from the racist, abusive, and apologist implications that Reylow would bring.
Finn and Rey are equal co-protagonists again, and Luke and Poe share around the same amount of screen time.
Why: TFA worked the way it balanced Finn and Rey, JJ will probably fine tune it a little. Luke will take the spot of Han as a supporting main character and Poe will join him like that as a good balance from his TFA screen time.
If the movie is received well and makes a good profit, the trilogy format will end, but there will be future anthology movies and future trilogies about those anthology movies.
Episode IX is going to be more like TFA than TLJ, so if you’re expecting some Reddit theory to come true, I wouldn’t hold you’re breath. Disney and Lucasfilms aren’t blowing up the Falcon. They’re not killing off the Jedi. They’re not even killing off the Skywalker name or giving it to Benny Boy, which they couldn’t since he’s an Organa/Solo. Finn isn’t dying as a terrorist. Rey isn’t losing her independence and joining the knights of Ren. Poe isn’t being court martialed. Rose isn’t dying in a coma. Kylo isn’t going to be hailed as a benevolent ruler. Luke isn’t serving a minor role as a coward again.
Some people need to understand that this is Disney and they own Star Wars. They are not going to do franchise suicide and screw up their brand recognition. This isn’t twilight, hunger games, or even 50 shades. They aren’t going to make an ending that craps on the 40 year IP.
Remember that Disney and Star Wars is a business and they will take whatever decision makes them not only money, but makes them look good, and allows them to keep brand recognition.
Finn and Rey being heros sends a good message and makes them look good. It gets the money from the diverse fan base that wants to see them as heroes.
Luke being alive and happy sends a good message, makes them look good, and gets them money from the nostalgia fans.
The Jedi surviving makes them look good and provides a future to make more money. The Jedi are one of the most known things about Star Wars, they aren’t going anywhere.
Kylo, the knights of Ren, and the First Order are the bad guys. 100% of the deaths caused in the movie, or because of their actions. Them winning is not going to be seen as a good thing and neither will making the heroes or the original characters out to be the villains be seen as a smart move. It sends a bad message and it hurts the future for the movies.
Treating the original trilogy heroes and the sequel duology heroes, makes Disney and Star Wars look good, gets them nostalgia money, and provides them with a platform to launch their future movies from.
This is excellent. I agree with everything here.
