So it’s been a while but I’ve been consistently working on new stuff. Peep this new song, it’s done on an instrumental produced by “akihxbara”, a producer I saw reposted on my soundcould TL a few days ago. I heard it and just had to write to it. The track was also mixed by yours truly.

It’s officially 2016, (January 13th, 2016 11:16pm to be exact) and I haven’t dropped anything on here since October. Yes, this is long overdue. My apologies to you, life’s been hectic. So, I was randomly checking for music & this Remix was inspired by J-Cole’s “Enchanted”, a track I discovered a couple of days ago as I was listening to the “Friday Night Lights” Mixtape for the very first time (Yes I KNOW Im SUPERRR LATEEE), but hey I finally got around to it. Of course, the track is Gold to say the least and once I found an instrumental I wanted to do something to it. I know I know, I haven’t given you anything in a few months so enjoy this teaser for now. Also, I have good news, despite the mixtape being pushed back believe me I’ve been working. I want to give you a quality single as my first offering, it’s a song I’ve written and recorded a draft to that I’ve been replaying over, and over... and over before I go to the studio officially with it. It’s an instrumental produced by an extremely talented individual and I truly believe it has no category (not trap, not pop, OUT of the BOX) and I believe it’ll be exquisite to your ears. The lyrics and delivery came with ease -(I know that was all God). I can’t even tell you how I wrote it (I was at work and before you know it I was done) but that’s an update for now, (I know you’re thinking “when’s it droppin’ Jay???” it’s coming it’s coming lol, be patient I’ve GOT YOU I PROMISE. 

Sidenote with this current leak -I’m no pro by far but I’ve been practicing more with my mixing since the first track I released on here a few months back. Feel free to share your thoughts on that, as well as the lyrics/delivery. As always, thank you.

Hallelujah night performance. Funny thing about this picture is how it came about. I'm naturally a behind the scenes person, not an extrovert at all. A month ago one of the children's church teachers mentioned I could rap during this event. In my head I was like "no no no no no I can design the shirts, do media everything else but..." But Then I also knew what God wanted me to do. See I had this beat I produced that I had no idea what to do with, and God told me to write a children's song to it. This evening two of the kids asked to come up wit me, I was overjoyed to have them do so, then before you knew it ALL the kids were up there. I had all of them sing the chorus wit me. Wouldn't trade that moment for the world. 😎

Allow God to be the source of your happiness

So, I was cruising around on this golf kart -as seen in the photo above lol, (I was filming a golf tournament hosted by my job -life is good right?) as I was doing that I was thinking about how great God has blessed my life.....

 More importantly, I was allowing God to expound upon a conversation id had with pastor Chandler the day before about allowing God to be the God that makes you happy. This seems like a simple statement but many times we lose track of it since were so consumed with everything else in life that makes us happy -whether that's an item, person, place etc. we never really know if any of those things/people have inadvertently become the source of our happiness... Until we lose it or them. Our reaction at this point tells it all. To be transparent I was going through this and didn't realize it. After going through a tough point of my life in losing something that I valued very much I sought solace in other things that I tried to focus on to bring happiness, -games, hobby's, a slew of friends, but it never filled the void, because in the sense of it I was using those things/people to run away from what I was going through. See... Those things are great RESOURCES to enjoy happiness in, but they could never be the SOURCE of happiness. Can God not make you happy with or without that person or thing? Of course He can, and He wants us to realize that. While cruising around on that golf course I realized that even though I had lost something (apologies I don't want to reveal what this is at this time but I was a relationship that I valued greatly) that was important to me, it didn't mean that God isn't still the source of my happiness -regardless of what I do or don't possess. This blessed me and caused my thinking and perspective to evolve. I won't go extremely long with this post (I probably already have lol) bit nevertheless I leave you with this: It's good for friends, loved ones & things that we value to be resources of happiness that we enjoy, but God always wants to be the source of our happiness and the reason that we enjoy these things to their fullest extent.
