Tonight’s The Night
Cassandra could definitely tell the energy in the room had shifted when Sam introduced her. She could tell Kurt and Blaine didn’t seem too upset if at all about it but she could tell Platypus was quite pissed and wasn’t accepting this at all.
Rachel couldn’t believe this. Sam of all people was dating the person that made her life a living hell at NYADA! She then had to remember though that Cassandra admitted why she did such a thing at the end of her freshman year last year. She took a breath and looked over at Sam and back at Cassandra, her expression softening. There was such an age difference between them though. It wasn’t her business though. She cleared her throat. “Cassandra and I have had our issues in the past but I like to think we handled that, so if you are both happy then I guess that’s all that matters” she said, offering them both a smile. Blaine and Kurt’ face was full of shock as they looked over at Rachel, not believing what they were hearing coming from Rachel Berry of all people.
Cassandra looked at Rachel, a bit shocked by her reaction. “Thank you, Rachel” she said, a small smile tugging the corner of her lips. She was relieved everyone seemed to be accepting of it including Rachel.
A smile grew on Rachel’ face. That was the first time Cassandra ever called her by her name. “Why don’t you help me in the kitchen, we can pull some wine and pour some glasses and this dorks can decide what they’re gonna order”.
“And dorks they are, especially this one of all” Cassandra said playfully giving Sam’ arm a squeeze. “And perfect…” she added, pressing a kiss to Sam’ cheek before following Rachel to the kitchen area to get some wine for everyone.
It didn’t take Sam long to realize that the energy in the room had changed as he had introduced her as his girlfriend. It was a bit surprising that his friends weren’t as upset as he had thought, or that surprised, well, Rachel was. He could tell that he had a hard time to actually understand what was going on, or maybe she didn’t want too, at least not at first. He knew that it wouldn’t he easy for them to accept this, but as he realized that Rachel was looking between him and Cassandra, he couldn’t help to smile, and just maybe, just maybe, it wouldn’t b too awkward.
At least now he wouldn’t have to sneak around, and he could actually tell them were he was going, and not lie to them. “I’m happy,” Sam replied, “I totally get that this is like weird and not something you’d expect but like I know her and I’m sure that if you got to know her too you’d get it too.” Sam was still not sure if what Rachel said was true, maybe she’d tell him what she really thought when they were alone if this wasn’t the truth.
Sam turned to Cassandra with a smile on his lips, “yeah, maybe I’m a dork,” he replied, “but I’m your dork and you totally love me,” he replied with a smile, before he took her hand and pulled her back, and gave her a small peck. “I’m gonna order for you just so you know.”
