“Yeah, I travel.” He smiled, tongue pressing against his canines for a moment before speaking. “ All over. I pretty much travel anywhere for good tea to bring back to the shop. Last week, I was in Tibet.” Vendel smiled at him before chuckling. 

The tea shop owner tried to be gentle as he shook hands before speaking again. “ Harry. I like that name. It’s cool.” He pointed out before pulling his hand away gently. Looking over at Stephen, he rolled his eye before laughing a little. 

“No… Stephen is a bit of a  jerk and tends to focus on his…next conquest.” Vendel rolled his eyes before sipping his tea. “ Can I interest you in something to eat? I think I have some non laced food around here some where he teased.”

Harry’s interest was suddenly picked and he looked up at the man “Tibet ?” If he could have animals ears they would be highly raised on his head. “Isn’t it... Like... Cold ? But it must be beautiful...”

He uncomfortably shrugged “I... I don’t know it’s um... Common. Vendel is... Quite... Stranger. Where does... Where does it come from ?” As soon as he got his hand back he played with his fingers, twisting them, nervously intertwining them together.

He sighed when the barman told him Stephen would not likely come back so soon. “Ah... That’s... Unfortunate. He said... He said he’d be back. I don’t... I don’t want you to... Waste your time.” As someone entered the bar and let the door shut a bit brutally, Harry jumped and looked around him like a frightened rabbit.

Late Night pick up // Dee

He stared at her and shook his head. “Are you kidding me Dee? You asked me to pick you up, I’m not even dressed. I’m not here to have a drink or something.” And he really had his just woke up face.

She grinned as the drinks were placed in front of her and she handed him one “C’mon little bunny foo foo. Drink up” Tweedle Dee picked up the other drink as well and started to drink.

He let out a heavy sigh and knew she wouldn’t move until he’d done what she asked. So he closed his jacket over his bare chest and grabbed the glass. “And we go back home, okay ?” He asked before drinking it. He immediately cringed and coughed. Way too soon after waking up.

Reunion - iamwonderlandoracle

Oh dear, something was wrong. Something wrong was coming, March could feel it in the air but his gift was back for very little, not enough for him to actually be used to it again, for it to be fully functional. The fact this world had very little  magic definitely had its role here.

“Of course I was. Harry was. He found you down there. More than once did he try to find the courage to steal keys to be able to talk to you properly, to bring you something to eat. Now I remember.”

But suddenly the former cat flinched away, as though scared by him. He raised one hand toward him but quickly took it back, afraid he would just make things worse. “Cheshire… Chess… It’s alright. It’s okay. You… Are free now. Do you remember? I’m sure you do, I’m sure you can. You know who I am Chess… Look at me. I just want to help.” 

But if he was perfectly honest, he was more driven by how much he realised he’d miss him, back in Wonderland when the Hare’s gift was such a plague he kept him lock in his rampant madness, in Storybrooke, as he couldn’t remember. Now he knew why Harry was so fond of cats, why he’d kept his kitten and loved it beyond measure. He was missing his friend.

Chess shut his eyes, desperately trying to make sense of what was happening. He knew March, he was friends with him. But this man was somehow different. It wasn’t the same. Harry, that was him. Chess remembered him. He was the only one that ever spoke to him as an equal in that dark place.

He looked up, straight at the man above him. He saw a familiar kindness in his eyes. It made the voices calm a little, as if the mere sight of him lulled them. He reached up, hand twisting into the man’s jacket. It felt warm and safe, grounding him.

“Can you help? Can you help me?” His voice sounded small, even to him. He honestly didn’t know what else to do.

He let the man clench his hands on his white lab coat and managed a soft smile. “Of course I can, of I will. Whether I’m March or Harry.” he replied in a soft voice. Poor poor man, poor poor Cheshire. Harry could feel how disturbed he was, how miserable and it broke his heart.

He raised a hand and was about to run his fingers through the former cat’s hair but as soon as his digits touched him a flash burst into his mind, branding him with something that wasn’t his. 

Alone. In the white room. Alone. His arms hampered by a straitjacket. Alone. But not so alone. Voices. Voices whispering, voices chatting, voices screaming. In his ears, in his head. The pain, the distress, the sorrow. The fear, the horror, the silent prayer for everything to end.

Harry immediately took his hand back, realising those memories weren’t his but Cheshire’s. His head hurt and his breath was a bit out of control but he tried and kept his face straight in order not to frighten his friend. Damn gift the hare had, forbidding him to ever touch anyone. Instead, he put his hand on his old friend’s shoulder, over his shirt.

“Come with me. I have a place, you can stay. You’re free now.”

“You brood when you’re alone. I can feel you miles away.” He said in a sweet voice.

A moment of weakness

18. My muse is been beaten badly and is in bad shape, yours finds mine in this state.

Her frame was slumped against the alley wall, her shoulders shaking with quiet cries, her dress disheveled, and bruises so dark against her skin, one could see where their fingers had grabbed her arms. A hand was clamped over her eye and cheek covering the blackened, scraped tissue. 

She didn’t want him to see the worst of it.

Middle of the night and Harry was running barefoot in the street. He was silently praying not to be too late. He just had this dream… This bad bad dream about Alice and he knew. He knew he had to be fast, he knew it was happening, he could feel it.

He knelt beside her as soon as he saw her, pushing back the wave of rightful rage that threatened to take over him and gently grabbed her hands with his gloves. 

“Alice… Alice I’m so sorry, I should have been here sooner. Oh dear… Oh my poor poor girl. It’s okay, it’s over, I’m here.” He softly pulled her against his chest. “We must get you to the hospital right now.”

It took a great deal of effort to swallow her cries, quiet herself, But it all began anew when he held her.  There were no words to describe the flush of comfort she felt to have him here.  Why was he the one apologizing?  She wanted to tell him– It’s not your fault, how could you blame yourself, you’re here now. But she could not–her embrace tightened–all she could hope was that he would know how she felt. 

Then Alice shook her head. What more could the hospital do? There were no bones to be mended, the pain could not be alleviated by medication. She just wanted this night to end.

One hand ended up on the back of her head and he cradled her in his arms, hoping to ease her cries a bit, to show her he was here, to prove her it was all over. “Hush my dear. It’s over. It’s over now.” His gloved hand tenderly stroke her hair until her broken voice answered him.

“Home? Really? But maybe it would be better if you...” But he stopped, realising it was useless to try and talk her into going to the hospital. Slowly, carefully, he slid a hand under her knees, the other around her shoulders and he lifted her up. “Okay, let’s go home.” he whispered.

He began to walk toward her place, keeping her in his arms like a princess.

“Come on, Harry,” She holds up the bottle, shaking it a little. “ Let’s have a little fun.” Verdi cooed before pouring them each a shot.

She gave him a grin, not caring if others were around. “ Come on, what’s the worse that could happen? We have a really bad headache and shit. But still, come on.”

Giving him a wink, she grabbed her own. “ That’s the spirit, Rabbit.” The seer teased before holding her shot. “ Alright, on three. Three!” With that she downed her shot and instantly began to cough. “ Goddess’ tits! That’s terrible!” She managed to get out between hacking up her right lung.

“The worse ? Oh, I don’t know, my gift wildly firing up and frying my brain like a chicken wing ?” But apparently he didn’t actually care and follwed her with a stupid giggle. 

He grabbed his shot and was apparently surprised she didn’t count to three. He swallowed his shot and immediately cough too, leaning on the table, sure he was going to die.

“Why didn’t you... Count... Ohmygod... I’m dying...”

A moment of weakness

“ You can’t leave okay?!” She told him, trying to block the door as best she could, given her small frame. Her body was shaking as she struggled to keep her breathing until control. Verdi was sure that her heart was going to break her ribs if it beat any harder. She could feel her stomach clenching as she looked up at him, gripping his shirt tightly.

“ Please, Harry, you can’t!” Verdi couldn’t remember the vision but it was bad and it involved Harry in some way.

Before he could reach the door she was blocking it with her body, apparently shaken and half traumatised. 

As she grabbed his shirt he looked down at her hands then up to her face with a very quizzical look. “Verdi... I’ve got to go to work at some point... Despite the fact I’d love to stay home with you to drink tea and stuff myself with cakes, I need money...”

He tilted his head and squinted. He tenderly put his hands over his and asked. “Are you okay my butterfly ?”

The car parked in front of the Rabbit’s hole and Harry went out of it, seeking the girl in the street. Once he found her, he shook his head and sighed.

“Come here, you idiot.”

He’s got his sleepy hair, sleepy eyes and is only wearing his pyjamas pants and a jacket. Not even his gloves or shoes. He definitely ran from home to go get her.
