Go ballistic the store i work at unfortunately sells those How to Draw books that are only like 20% helpful and the WORST CONTENDER is Chris Hart's Romance book that

1. Does not go through how to draw actual chemistry

2. Focuses solely on tropes

3. DONT TEACH YOU??? HOW TO DRAW AFFECTION???

I get it, his recipe for a tutorial book (and weirdly everyone else's) is to use tropes and talk about character design but my issue with that is, while its true that tropes are a good jumping off point, almost none of his books actually break down the logistics of said designs

If you're listing your book as how to make romance, chances are the kids already have characters they want to ship. What they WANT is to know things like hand holding, good cuddling/date poses, and the infamous KISSES

Don't get me started on the heteronormativity in it

Sure, you can get shit for free online, but the family/loved ones with good intentions will grab it and not know its incredibly unhelpful

Im serious when I say these tutorial books have harmed my ability to develop as an artist when I was young

For the love of God stop pumping out every how-to book thinking that you don't need to elaborate YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO
