@ianxmickey

i have never watched a single episode of shameless but i'm happy for the ginger and his angry bf
“i love you” “i know”
OMG i am so glad that mickey said that, honestly. after hearing so many people doubt ian’s love for him (in fandom), i am glad that mickey told us how HE felt about ian’s love.
people get mad at ian’s behavior (starting in season 3), about how he wants mickey to commit to him, but refuses to confirm HIS feelings first. which yes, i get it, it does seem hypocritical, but MICKEY never feels this way about it. because HE KNOWS THAT IAN IS IN LOVE WITH HIM! everything ian said to lip about him in s3 is 100% true!!! he was spitting straight facts on us all.
also, ian’s “you can’t fake that” goes both ways. there is no way that mickey would be SO devoted to someone, and go out of his way to be with them if he ever doubted ian’s feelings. mickey has pride, people. he knows ian better than anyone. they have an amazing emotional intimacy, even with the lack of verbal communication. they are each others other half.
i think i trust what mickey thinks of his own relationship/feelings over anything.
“I want to be where you are, Mickey.”
Rewatching old episodes and it almost hurts to hear the discussion between the judge and Fiona when he says that she’s be in charge of Liam legally for 16 more years, YET it’s only been 7ish and she’s already gone :(
my biggest gripe with fiona leaving is that she didn’t take liam with her. liam was monica’s child in name only. Liam is HER baby imo. he was the only one that she was an adult when he was born and that is significant. she says in season one that he doesn’t know who monica is. fiona is the only mother that liam knows.
I get they couldn’t exactly write Liam off too, and I’m not sure how they’d handle that but I fully agree. She didn’t even say goodbye to him personally! I needed a teary heartfelt scene between them, or had Fiona ask Liam if he wanted to go with her so l could at least know Fiona wanted to continue raising him. Liam was definitely Fiona’s son and I wish they had older Liam call her mom like kid Liam did.
they could’ve written him off, but i can understand not wanting to lose the actor. i would never advocate for someone to lose their job, especially in a hit and miss profession such as acting. i think it would’ve been a better ending for the characters, though. especially for liam as he deserves to have a stable parent and i just don’t buy that fiona would abandon him. she loved him with all her heart. i hope that since fiona raising him is off the table, either ian-mickey or lip step up to the plate and take care of him. idk, the way liam is treated leaves a bad taste in my mouth. he is the only black male on the show that hasn’t been treated like total trash (kenyatta anyone??) but his storyline in the newest episode seems to be a total joke when it could be a good storyline.
