"Ghosts in the Blood" goes to film festivals!

This project has been in development hell so to speak. I first wrote the feature film version of this story years ago in the L.A. Skins Fest feature film writing program. From there I have had every distraction possible, but it has officially been submitted to the Student Academy Awards among a small handful of other festivals.

This is my brother John and I. I love my brother. He was practically a father to me, taught me a lot about life: how to shave, how to dress, how to carry myself. The strange thing is I haven’t really been able to have the kind of relationship with him as an adult I feel brothers should have, and it’s almost entirely because of our difference in skin colors. The world has never really allowed us to live in the same world together. This world is divided. I don’t necessary like the destruction of the protests/riots, but if it can somehow change the world into a place where my brother and I can be as close as we were when we were younger and felt less affected by the constant cruelty and inequality that puts a wedge between us, I support it. I know we need to stay home, but I am one of those people that had to risk travel to handle business and family. Random perk; Got a free first class flight to NY, wonder why 🧐 2b honest my cousin told me, it’s a little “I am Legend”, and he’s right but these streets are still fearless. It’ll take a couple of apocalypses to put NYC down. I have a lot of love for LA no doubt but I had to bring my love & light where it’s needed most rn. I’m these troubling times I don’t pretend to have any answers about what the right path forward is. All I know is I’m gonna do my best to take care of me and mine, but I’m also gonna remember that I live in a civilized society where men and women have fought and continue to fight daily for our freedoms.
