The entire fandom depiction of them is the fetishisation of homosexuality, classist, and so so so incredibly misogynistic. Like god damn way to hit all 3 in one terrible fucking ship
tim is one of the most mediocre DC heroes ever. not to say he is unskilled, I wont deny that he is an incredibly talented individual. however, there is not one thing he can or has done that another gotham based vigilante cannot or has not done better. this goes for his hacking skills, easily trumped by babs. his combat skills as he has been defeated by i think everyone (?) in the batfamily at least once. adaptability wise and his desire to make gotham better, duke has been shown to adjust quicker to new challenges and help others with no training and without the same brand of batman idolization. his proficiency with weaponry outside of his staff, when jason uses one of the widest arrays of weaponry out of all of them. his detective skills, which i personally havent seen as proven beyond the skills of literally any of the others. his heroism and need to help others is not a fundamental part of his being when compared to steph, who became a vigilante by her own means and with limited supply with the will to help. his leadership skills are bested by both dick and bruce. his willpower, where helena is consistently more driven and determined than hes ever been. even his flare is bested by jason, helena, and dick. empathy, understanding, humanity skills, all things that cass has proven to value and practice more than tim. the whole argument for tim being the best robin, the best hero, the best vigilante, is just fundamentally incorrect when he's not the best at anything. so, no, not unskilled. hes still given an amazing display in all of these areas, he just simply isnt what DC has tried to build him up to be, and not what fans have mistaken him for.
The way the dc fandom portrays Jason and Tim are so princess and beast coded
(The dumbing down and criminalisation of poverty in general. Despite jason being shown time and time again as extremely intelligent and an amazing strategist - he is somehow against all odds depicted in fan work as violent, stupid and Brute-ish. Shown to be so much bigger than tim despite their minimal age gap- then Tim is always shown as being defenceless against the beast intelligent and depicted like he’s a generation younger than Jason. Theres something so insidious about Tim constantly being shown as the one that thinks and Jason’s the one that rushes and charges into danger (despite Canon being quite the opposite.) )
Of course this is encouraged by dc- that’s the whole point of Tim’s character to be “better” than Jason in every way. It’s not hard to connect the dots- Jason is a kid that grew up in the slums and Tim is rich.
And no, I don’t think the way Jason is treated is “racist coded” before you dumbfucks jump my ass- he is line by line the perfect representation of what classism results in.
Jason is depicted as bigger, stronger more violent and volatile, depicted as if he’d not loved school- not wished to go to college- depicted as if he’s below knowing about consequences. It’s disgusting, and I don’t fucking care.
And the “tim shows him how to be a good person and forgives jason for hurting him” is just the fucking cherry on top.

Tim is genuinely such an asshole in canon- like I love that about him but there’s no fucking denying it,,, he always taunts and makes fun of Jason- if anything Tim hurts Jason more than Jason hurts Tim- and Tim feels little to no remorse.
