➸ Gray was exhausted. He’d just finished a tough mission on his own. It had been one of his first solo missions in a long time, but he needed the money soon and nobody else was available so he decided to take this one alone and was able to manage it pretty well. The village he’d come to was quite far from the Fairy Tail guild, so he decided to rest someplace for a while before heading out again. He searched around for a place to stay, the unfamiliarity of this new place making him feel slightly on edge.

“Fairy Tail. They’re the most welcoming.” She said, grabbing onto his arm, then leaning on him. “Not too fond of them destroying everything though.” Alice spoke, limping back to her room with him.

Gray takes a deep breath, trying not to let red bloom on his pale face.  ❝You’re damn right about that. They’re all my family and I would die to protect them.❞ He chuckles lightly when she talks about the destruction, because really, they can’t help themselves sometimes. They’re just so boisterous that such a result isn’t surprising for the energy and enthusiasm they all have and he guessed a couple buildings and things did get destroyed here and there but it wasn’t like they did it on purpose. He didn’t really feel like arguing though, so he helped Alice walk the rest of the way to her room, and then gently helped her to the bed when they got there.

Alice nods a bit. “As you should. Family doesn’t stop at blood.” She said, sitting down on the bed. “Now, lets get me patched up.”

Her lacrima buzzed and she glanced down, squinting slightly to read the message coming through as she was jostled by the sea of bodies around her. Cana had dragged her clubbing, and while - yes, technically, she’d had a few drinks - she was nowhere near drunk. Buzzed, maybe, but definitely not drunk. No…if her text was difficult to read, it was because Cana had grabbed her and dragged her out onto the dance floor right in the middle of her trying to text Gray, and it was EXTREMELY difficult to text while being bumped from all directions by a swarm of people. So she slipped out of the crowd and made her way back to the bar, climbing back up onto a barstool and opening up the reply screen.

[text : Ice Stripper] No, I am NOT drunk. Buzzed? Most definitely, but not drunk. Cana dragged me out clubbing and then out onto the dance floor. It’s really hard to type on a dance floor, did you know that?

He blinked twice, surprised from reading a message he could actually understand which was much better than the garbled previous text she had sent not too long ago.

He paused for a moment, imagining her with a bare minimum of clothing, chugging down barrels like Cana and dancing with a bunch of random people on the dance floor. The thought was weird to him, but not too impossible, he supposed. He hit send on his keyboard, hearing the sound of his text being delivered, and then sent a follow-up text of:

He’s glad the room they’re in is dark, because he doesn’t want her to know what he’s thinking.

He pushes thoughts out of his mind, shaking his head. ❝You really trust a man to go into your room with you alone?❞ He wants to make sure she really is comfortable and not making a bad decision, and he wonders who else is down here that could possibly be watching the two of them.

“If you wanted to do something to me, you would have already done it.” Alice spoke. “Besides. I recognize that symbol on your chest. A Fairy Tail wizard. Your guild can be trusted. I rather it be you here with me than anyone else.”

I mean, we are pretty popular I guess, but I wasn’t aware that you knew about us.❞ He calms down a bit, looking down.

Alice nods. “Now. Help me back to my room so we can make sure I’m not broken and to treat any wounds.” She said. “I’m aware of every guild. Saber tooth, lamia scale, yours.” She listed.

❝Yes ma’am,❞ he obeys, holding his arm out for her to grab on to. ❝I didn’t know you were so knowledgable about those things. So, do you have a favorite guild? Any you’re interested in joining, if you’re not already a part of one?❞ He watches her expression, hoping she’d give him the answers he was expecting.

🐰 Gray falling into a rabbit hole and meeting Alice

This wasn’t supposed to happen. All Gray wanted was a leisurely stroll, a nice, calm walk to escape that psychotic stalker known as Juvia. That description of her may have been a bit harsh, but he really was annoyed with her constantly obsessing over him. She was not his type, and the only way he could escape her was wandering out into the middle of the woods. He expected to be out here for a while and then return to his home, but his plans had changed suddenly when he tripped and fell into a random hole in the ground, falling god knows how many feet down under. 

He shrieked all the way down until he hit something soft and squishy, landing on it with a thud. When he looked down to see what was underneath him, his face went red as he realized he had fallen on top of a beautiful, young woman. 

❝H-holy shit, I’m so sorry!❞ he spluttered, his whole body going warm. He was too frazzled to even move off of her, so he remained on top of her, struggling to find the right words to explain himself.

Alice looked pained, face a dark red. “It’s fine. You didn’t know I was there. But, Please get off. Who are you?” She asked, looking up at him. “I think you bruised me.”

❝R-right!❞ he said in a flustered manner, quickly rolling off of her. He looked down at himself for a second and realized he only has pants on, and his ears burn a bright red to match his face. He can barely meet the girl’s eyes afterwards. ❝Uh…pardon me…I am Gray Fullbuster. And you are?❞

Alice sat up, rubbing the back of her head. “Alice Liddell.” She spoke, and looked over at him. “How did you even get here? Were you looking for an escape?” She asked, blush fading slightly.

❝Actually…I’m not sure why I ended up here or what this place is,❞ he replied truthfully, scratching the back of his head. ❝One moment I was just taking a regular walk, and the next, I’m falling down this random hole and end up here.❞ He took a moment to look around him, realizing this place was quite different from ‘up there.’ It looked crazy, in his eyes, something that may have been out of a storybook and not reality.

Alice’s blush faded. She got up. “Alright. Well. I’m not sure how you’ll get out. But we can try.” She said. “You don’t belong here. I do. I can help you.”

❝That’s great!❞ he exhaled, putting a hand on his chest. ❝Guess I ran into the right person, then.❞ He grinned widely, partially to show his gratitude and also to prove he wasn’t dangerous.

“Just stick close to me and don’t do anything stupid.” She said. With that, she began leading him through Wonderland. “Follow my lead.” She said, stepping on a mushroom and flying up into the sky, landing up above.

He stepped on another mushroom and it went up, startling him slightly, but he stayed calm, letting it take him to where she was.

Alice heard the running feet and stayed in her room. She didn’t like drawing attention to herself so she got a book out, and began reading.

❝Where are you?❞ he yells, searching desperately. He stops near a tall building to catch his breath, and that’s when he senses another presence nearby. He thinks it might be the person whose voice he heard just a few seconds ago and searches for a way inside, hoping he could find an answer.

A nearby ladder draws his attention, and taking a deep breath, he sprints to it and hurriedly climbs up, landing in a balcony.

Alice stares, seeing him on her balcony. She got up from her bed, moving towards the door. She dropped the book, and ran down the hall.

Alice continued to run, full speed, down the hallway. What she didn’t notice, was the cord in front of her feet. She tripped, falling to the floor, sliding a bit. She breathed in sharply, getting up. She was in pain.

Gray spots the mysterious girl get injured, and panic resides in his heart. ❝H-hey, are you okay! Please stop running!❞ He prays she won’t get up and take off again, especially since that fall she just took looked painful.

Alice didn’t speak, moving away from him. She couldn’t get up. Her leg was limp. She pushes herself away from him. She seemed scared.

❝Hey…I’m not gonna hurt you. Please listen.❞ He begs her to stay where she is so he can help her. ❝I promise I don’t have any bad intentions. Just give me a chance.❞ He doesn’t move, waiting for her to show signs of trust. He watches her carefully, wondering what she’ll do or say.

Alice’s blush faded. She got up. “Alright. Well. I’m not sure how you’ll get out. But we can try.” She said. “You don’t belong here. I do. I can help you.”

❝That’s great!❞ he exhaled, putting a hand on his chest. ❝Guess I ran into the right person, then.❞ He grinned widely, partially to show his gratitude and also to prove he wasn’t dangerous.

"Carry on, my wayward son. There will be peace when you are done. Lay your weary head to rest. Don't you cry no more." Alice sang softly. (Modern verse?)

❝Huh…?❞ Gray looks around, wondering where the soft sound is coming from. He wills himself to stay awake, because there’s something about this music that is trying to lull him to sleep. ❝Why does this sound familiar? What’s going on?❞ He’s never been this confused or tired, and it’s making his mind all hazy.

Alice heard the running feet and stayed in her room. She didn’t like drawing attention to herself so she got a book out, and began reading.

❝Where are you?❞ he yells, searching desperately. He stops near a tall building to catch his breath, and that’s when he senses another presence nearby. He thinks it might be the person whose voice he heard just a few seconds ago and searches for a way inside, hoping he could find an answer.

A nearby ladder draws his attention, and taking a deep breath, he sprints to it and hurriedly climbs up, landing in a balcony.

Alice stares, seeing him on her balcony. She got up from her bed, moving towards the door. She dropped the book, and ran down the hall.

❝Hey, wait!❞ he shouts, his arm reaching out for her. He sees her running and follows suit, making sure not to lose his sights on her. He can’t lose her again. Not this time.

Alice continued to run, full speed, down the hallway. What she didn’t notice, was the cord in front of her feet. She tripped, falling to the floor, sliding a bit. She breathed in sharply, getting up. She was in pain.

Gray spots the mysterious girl get injured, and panic resides in his heart. ❝H-hey, are you okay! Please stop running!❞ He prays she won’t get up and take off again, especially since that fall she just took looked painful.

🐰 Gray falling into a rabbit hole and meeting Alice

This wasn’t supposed to happen. All Gray wanted was a leisurely stroll, a nice, calm walk to escape that psychotic stalker known as Juvia. That description of her may have been a bit harsh, but he really was annoyed with her constantly obsessing over him. She was not his type, and the only way he could escape her was wandering out into the middle of the woods. He expected to be out here for a while and then return to his home, but his plans had changed suddenly when he tripped and fell into a random hole in the ground, falling god knows how many feet down under. 

He shrieked all the way down until he hit something soft and squishy, landing on it with a thud. When he looked down to see what was underneath him, his face went red as he realized he had fallen on top of a beautiful, young woman. 

❝H-holy shit, I’m so sorry!❞ he spluttered, his whole body going warm. He was too frazzled to even move off of her, so he remained on top of her, struggling to find the right words to explain himself.

Alice looked pained, face a dark red. “It’s fine. You didn’t know I was there. But, Please get off. Who are you?” She asked, looking up at him. “I think you bruised me.”

❝R-right!❞ he said in a flustered manner, quickly rolling off of her. He looked down at himself for a second and realized he only has pants on, and his ears burn a bright red to match his face. He can barely meet the girl’s eyes afterwards. ❝Uh…pardon me…I am Gray Fullbuster. And you are?❞

Alice sat up, rubbing the back of her head. “Alice Liddell.” She spoke, and looked over at him. “How did you even get here? Were you looking for an escape?” She asked, blush fading slightly.

❝Actually...I’m not sure why I ended up here or what this place is,❞ he replied truthfully, scratching the back of his head. ❝One moment I was just taking a regular walk, and the next, I’m falling down this random hole and end up here.❞ He took a moment to look around him, realizing this place was quite different from ‘up there.’ It looked crazy, in his eyes, something that may have been out of a storybook and not reality.
