You can call me Beany or Ace (two of my many nicknames). I was once, a long time ago, acewritesfics before k-pop took over my life. I thought I would get back into writing non-k-pop-related fics again.
I hope you all enjoy my new fics. I will be posting some rewrites of old fics here when I can.

Summary: After suffering a horrific tragedy, Y/N Harding makes a stop in Las Vegas, Nevada, during her move to Santa Monica, California, after being invited to her cousin's bachelorette party. She was completely out of her comfort zone until she met a man, who was there for the bachelor party of one of his rodeo pals. The two clicked from the moment they met, and Lottie thought things were going well between them until she woke up the next morning, alone, naked, hungover, with a wedding ring on her left hand and a last name she didn't have a clue about. Until five years later, when two old friends find her and convince her to come home back to Oklahoma during a tornado outbreak. *I got inspired to write this as I was listening to Carrie Underwood's song Last Name. Other songs will be mentioned*
Warnings: mentions of nudity, a little tiny bit suggestive in one small area, mentions of drinking and being drunk, mentions of drunken s*x and eloping (it's Vegas), doesn't talk about the start of Twisters but mentions guilt and grief. This is set after the tornado at the beginning.

2019 - Las Vegas, Nevada - After the incident.
In the bustling city of Las Vegas, Nevada, Y/N Harding awoke in her hotel room; her head pounding with an intensity that felt like it was splitting open from the inside. The harsh light of the morning sun pierced through the gap in the curtains, forcing her to squint her eyes as she tried to gather her bearings. With her head spinning, she sits up slowly, clutching the sheet to her naked chest as the events of the previous night flood back to her.
The night began with Y/N feeling distinctly out of place in the chaos of the city known for its sinful desires. Among the group of energetic and untamed women, the only familiar face was her cousin Carissa, a country girl turned showgirl. When Carissa, just two months younger than Y/N, learned that her older cousin was traveling to California, she begged and pleaded for her to make a detour to Las Vegas to join her bachelorette party. Y/N had made all the excuses in her head not to go but ultimately kept them to herself, thinking a night of reckless fun could just be what she needed after the events of last month, and promised her that she'd be there.
Two hours into the festivities, the bachelorette group changed venues to a cowboy-themed bar at the bride-to-be's request. There, they came across a group of rodeo cowboys who were also in Las Vegas celebrating one of their own who was also getting married. After attaching herself to Y/N's side as soon as she saw her, Carissa eventually broke away from her and joined the other showgirls who were swooning over the cowboys.
With an amused smile, she leaned back and watched the two groups converse. She failed to notice that one of the men had broken away from the group, seeing she was sitting alone until he approached her. He introduced himself as Tyler as he sat across from her and offered to buy her another drink. At first, Y/N was hesitant, but when he gave her a charming smile that made her heart skip a beat, she couldn't deny his offer, but only if he allowed her to buy the next round.
The rest of the night progressed in a whirlwind of neon lights, laughter, and dancing as Y/N and Tyler hit it off well, finding herself completely captivated by Tyler and his easy confidence. She couldn't remember ever connecting with someone like she had with him. The never-ending days filled with guilt, grief, and sleepless nights faded into the background as they shared stories about themselves, their laughter mingling with the country songs playing from the jukebox across the room. It was as if he had swept away the heaviness of her heart, even if it was just for a night.
Groaning in pain, shame, and regret over how much she drank after telling herself she'd only have a couple, she glances to the now-empty side of the bed, where she can still smell a faint trace of cologne, a mix of cedar and something sweet, whiskey, and sex. Her memories of leaving the bar fade into blackness until she has flashbacks of how she and Tyler drunkenly ended up in her hotel room bed together. However, for her life, she couldn't remember leaving the bar, arriving at her hotel room, or anything in between aside from Tyler being just as drunk as she was.
Her cheeks flush with the warmth of a thousand suns as her mind drifts to reminiscing about the way Tyler's lips felt against her heated skin and lips, how his rough, calloused fingers intimately caressed her body in a way she had never been touched before, and how his hands tightly held her close to him as he whispered sweet words into her ear. The memories swirled around in her mind, leaving her longing for more.
Snapping herself out of it, Y/N got up from the bed and wrapped the sheet around herself before heading into the bathroom. She could still taste the booze in her mouth as she fought the urge to throw whatever was left in her stomach back up. Turning on the cold water, she splashes some of it onto her face, hoping to ease the pounding in her head. As the cold droplets cascade down her cheeks, she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror and finds a disheveled version of herself.
After several frantic attempts to remove the ring proved unsuccessful, Y/N decided she needed to confront the situation head-on. She picked up her phone from the nightstand and looked through her recent texts and calls, praying to find some hint as to what had happened. When she found a string of texts from Carissa and a few missed calls, her heart sank into her stomach. She gives Carissa a quick call back, and after the second ring, the younger cousin answers.
"Where are you?" Carissa demanded, her voice a mix of concern and frustration. "I thought you said you had to check out by 9, and then we were going to have breakfast together before you had to hit the road again."
Y/N notices that it is 10am when she glances at the clock on the wall. "Rissa, I'm sorry. I'm on my way now," she apologizes, hurrying around the room as she goes into her bag and starts pulling out some fresh clothes to get dressed in.
"I'll wait for you in the lobby," Carissa says. Y/N can hear the smile in her voice and wonders how she could be so chirpy after last night. "You missed breakfast, but we can go and get brunch, that is, if you're in no rush to get to California."
"Give me 10 minutes," Y/N tells her, promising she'll be down there as soon as she can be.
The call ended, and Y/N hurried to get dressed and collect her things before making her way down to the lobby and the checkout desk. Once everything was done and paid for, she found Carissa waiting by the door. Y/N took a deep breath as she approached her cousin, forcing a smile despite the turmoil swirling inside her. Carissa's bright eyes sparkled with excitement. She looked far from hungover.
"There you are! I was starting to think I'd have to come up there and drag you down here myself," Carissa teased, linking her arm through Y/N's as they stepped outside into the warm Nevada sun. Y/N pulled her sunglasses from her bag and placed them on, blocking the glaring light from stinging her eyes.
Forgetting she had the ring still on, Carissa's eyes grew wide as her eyes became locked on Y/N's hand. "Miss Y/N Harding, is that what I think it is?" Carissa exclaimed, her southern drawl coming through thicker as her voice rose with a mix of disbelief and glee. Y/N instinctively pulled her hand back, attempting to hide it from her. "So where is the lucky guy? Tyler, right?"
Y/N felt her heart drop. The realization hit her like a ton of bricks.
She's now married to a man she only met the night before...
"I don't know," she whispered, panic clawing at her throat. "I can't remember anything after we left the bar," she partly lied. "He was gone this morning."
Carissa's eyes softened with concern as she leaned closer to Y/N, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "Okay, let's take a deep breath here." She took Y/N's hands into hers and squeezed gently. "We'll figure this out together. Do you have Tyler's number?"
Y/N's eyes widen as another realization hits her. They never exchanged numbers.
"Oh, no, this isn't good," Carissa stammered, her voice tinged with worry. "What are we going to do? We can find him, right? How many cowboys named Tyler could there be? What if Tyler isn't his actual name?" she rattles off all the questions that had been floating around in Y/N's head.
"What if we can't find him?" Y/N muttered, panic rising in her chest.
"We will," Her cousin assures her, sounding about as confident as an introvert in a crowded room. "Until then, Mrs. Tyler," she said, earning a glare from the older of the two. "Let's get some food into that stomach of yours before you leave me again."
Y/N reluctantly agrees and lets Carissa lead her to a cafe just up the street, talking about all the ways they could try and track her husband down. From experience, Y/N knew if Carissa wanted to locate someone for any reason, she worked harder than the FBI trying to catch a serial killer.
However, what Y/N didn't know is that she would not see Tyler again for five years, and it would take returning to Oklahoma to make it happen.
Featuring: The rest of the Twisters characters, Bill & Jo Harding (Twister), and OCs—Carissa, Jessica, and George.
Warnings: a Vegas wedding and a one-night stand are mentioned a lot. tornados, Glen Powell in a cowboy hat, and nudity are mentioned in the first part. I guess it's kind of suggestive since there will be mentions of s-x but no smut. Warnings will be placed at the start of a chapter.

Hiii!! I saw you had requests open for Jay Halstead, which is kinda rare in this day and age since he left a while ago 💔
I was wondering if you could write a fic between Jay x female!reader, where she’s also a detective in Intelligence, and it’s an established relationship! It’s serious you know, but one day reader realizes that Jay technically never asked her to be his girlfriend, it’s just been always assumed. So when’s their anniversary? When did it transition from dating to established territory? What are we, Jay?
It’s just dumb and funny and not serious whatsoever, if that’s your vibe! Thank you for reading, even if you don’t write anything from it :)
I honestly have only watched a couple of episodes of Chicago PD after he left, so I don't know what's happening on there now. I missed writing for him, so I thought I would again. I have a few old Jay Halstead fics I'm editing and rewriting to post here.
You're my first request since I've been back, so I'll do it the best I can.
And don't worry, it's totally my vibe. I don't think many of my old fics were serious haha.
Pairing: Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw x Seresin!Reader
Summary: Y/N doesn't want to end her "summer fling"
Warnings: None
Requests: Open - Requesting Guidelines

A/N: Hi everyone! I used to be on here as acewritesfics/dlmlufics and probably half a dozen other usernames (I could never settle on one back then). I deactivated my old account while I was going through some personal stuff, tried to come back but left again but I am back now and want to start writing non-kpop-related fics again (I'm still writing k-pop and k-drama fics). So here I am, working through some old fics I managed to find through reblogs and Wayback Machine, rewriting and reposting them.
"Hey sis, I hope you packed your cowboy boots because we're going dancing tonight," Jake calls out to Y/N as he walks through the front door of the beach house she's leased for the summer.
While stationed in San Diego, her brother had persuaded her to come spend her summer under the Californian sun. Despite being nothing alike in personality as well as looks, the Seresin siblings are close. Her big brother was her hero growing up and she truly admired the person he is underneath his egocentric and cocky demeanor. She also couldn't pass up the chance to spend the summer at the beach.
"When are we leaving?" She asks as she walks out of her bedroom.
He informs her, "You've got an hour to get ready."
Y/N spends the next hour showering and getting herself ready. She wears a short-sleeved white dress that is adorned with tiny pink and white flowers. The skirt of the dress flowed freely over her thighs and ended just above her knees, while the top of the dress hung loosely from her shoulders. She wears it with a belt that is the same dark brown color as her cowboy boots, which were a birthday gift from Jake two years prior.
She leaves her hair alone, not bothering to do anything special with it, and then applies a little make-up, aiming for a "no make-up" make-up look before putting on her jewelry. Her jewelry included a set of small, hooped earrings, her watch, a bracelet, and her cross-pendant necklace, which she wore every day.
"Are you ready to go?" Jake inquires, standing at the doorway as she clips her earrings into her earlobes
She nods and retrieves her small handbag from her bed, double-checking it before following him out of the little two-bedroom beachfront bungalow. "Where are we heading tonight?"
He sheepishly answers, "The Hard Deck."
After being here for 10 weeks, she gives him a little smack on the arm as they arrive at her rental car. "Here you were getting me all excited that we were going someplace new, finally asking me if I packed my boots because we're going dancing."
"I thought you loved the Hard Deck," he chuckles as he takes her keys and walks over to the driver's side. When he's around his sister, his country twang always comes out more strongly. "Oh, I'm sorry I forgot, you like going there to see the Rooster that's there."
"Bless your tiny little heart, Jake Seresin. How's the new girl doing, by the way? Have you chased her away with your oversized ego yet?" She retaliates as she climbs into the passenger seat. He glares at her, shaking his head, as he climbs into the driver's seat and drives to the navy bar they frequented.
-
"You're staring," Y/N hears Natasha say from beside her as they're sitting at a table watching Jake, Bradley and a few of the others around the pool table.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she denies glancing at her before returning her admire Bradley and raising her bottle of beer to her lips to take a drink. "He is a beautiful man," she continues, not denying that she finds him attractive.
Natasha scoffs, smirking at her and says, "Oh please, you and Rooster haven't exactly been subtle."
"I didn't think we were trying to be," she replies, looking back at her new friend.
Natasha turns to face the men after noticing a woman who wasn't wearing a navy uniform stroking Bradley's arm. She looks past the woman, seeing Jake's scowl as he eyes the hand that doesn't belong to his sister.
"Are you going to let her know that he's already taken?" Natasha asks, gesturing towards Bradley and the unknown woman.
When Bradley shrugs the woman's hand off his arm and says something to her, Y/N knows and trusts that Bradley has it handled. "I don't have to, but I'm going to make it known."
As a slow song starts playing on the jukebox, she gets out of her chair, leaves her empty bottle on the table, and walks towards Bradley. She approaches him and places a hand on his shoulder, getting his attention as she stands in front of him. He hands Bob the pool cue, his eyes not once leaving the woman in front of him, and moves his hands to her hips, tugging her closer.
"Dance with me?" She asks, looking up at him through her lashes.
"With you, always," he replies and takes her hand, leading her onto the small area that's cleared for a dance floor in front of the jukebox.
Standing in front of her, Bradley moves an arm around her waist, placing his large hand on the small of her back as the other takes her hand in his and holds it to his chest. He pulls her close as she lays her free hand on his shoulder and starts swaying to the music.
Never did she think coming to California would lead her into the arms of her brother's 'friendly' rival. From the moment Jake, reluctantly, introduced them, she knew her and Bradley would become great friends. Little did she know that they would become more than that.
She wasn't in San Diego two weeks when Bradley asked her to dinner, ignoring Jake's threats of shooting down his jet if he even dared touch his sister. Jake tried to convince her that Bradley only asked her on a date to spite him, but once he realized that there was no stopping the two, he gave up. But that didn't mean he didn't keep a close eye on them.
The more time Y/N spent with Bradley, the more she could feel herself falling in love with him. She tried to stop it, but it was impossible. Both she and Bradley had agreed that this would be a summer fling, but the thought of leaving to go back to Texas in two weeks makes her heart hurt.
"What's on your mind, sweetheart?" She hears Bradley's voice cut through her thoughts. She looks up at him, her eyes meeting his pretty ones.
"Let's go for a walk along the beach," she says, stepping out of his hold but keeping their hands interlocked as she pulls him out the bar doors.
As they walk along the beach, Bradley lets go of her hand and slings his arm across her shoulders and pulls her into his side. Y/N reaches her hand up, covering his hand with her own.
"What's got you so quiet?" He asks after a few minutes of them walking in silence, the only sound coming from the crashing of the waves and the music slowly fading in the background as they move further away from the bar.
"I don't want this to end," she tells him, looking towards the ocean, not wanting him to see her sadness as she thinks about her approaching departure date.
"Who says it has too?" He asks her as he stops walking and turns her to face him. Placing a finger under her chin, he tilts her head up so she'll look at him. "Who says it has to end?"
"I'm leaving in two weeks," she reminds him.
"Cancel your flight," he says like it's the simplest thing to do.
"I can't just cancel my flight," she says as though it's the most difficult thing to do.
"Why not?" He asks. "We can find you a house here. You're self-employed so you don't need to find a new job. You'll be closer to Jake and Nat and this," he pauses, pulling her closer, burying his head in the crook of her neck, his lips brushing against her sweet spot and his moustache tickling her skin. A soft and pleasurable sigh leaves her lips as she runs her hands through his curls before gently tugging his hair. He smiles, seeing that her eyes had closed as she enjoyed his affection, and plants a soft kiss on her lips. "doesn't have to end," he finishes when he pulls away.
Her eyes flutter open, and she bites the inside of her cheek as she thinks about what he's said. He did make a very convincing point.
"How can I say no to that?" She asks, a lazy smile on her lips as she looks up at him.
"You can't," he says, pecking her lips.
"Want to get out of here?" She asks, running her hands down his chest.
"You know I do," he answers stepping back from her, taking her hand and leading her back the way they came.
-
Y/N lets out a breathy chuckle against Bradley's lips as they stumble through her front door.
"Sorry," he mumbles against her lips, kissing her hungrily.
"No, you're not," she chuckles after breaking the kiss, stepping away from him. "There's one thing I need to do before this goes any further," she continues, holding her hand against his chest to stop him from advancing on her.
Y/N turns on her heel as Bradley whines in protest at the slight disruption. Taking her phone out of her handbag, before dropping the clutch to the floor as she pulls up her flight info. Bradley comes up behind her to see what she’s doing. His hands are on her hips as he places soft kisses along her shoulder and up her neck to her ear. She bites her lips, as she tilts her head to the side, giving him more access.
"What are you doing?" He asks, his warm breath hitting her ear and sending a shiver down her spine.
"I think you know what I'm doing," she smiles as he rests his head on her shoulder, watching her finger hover over the cancel option before pressing it and confirming it. She turns back around to face him, dropping her phone on the couch before wrapping her arms around his shoulders. "After all, it was you who convinced me to do it."
"No regrets," he smiles and kisses her again as he lifts her off the floor and wraps her legs around his waist. Walking them into her bedroom, he kicks the door shut.
