The Magic Of Disney (D.S.)
Description: You’re going through some rough times and nothing can cheer you up, not even Daniel. Daniel decides that he needs to cheer you up somehow. You’ve always wanted to go to Walt Disney World as it was “The most magical place on earth”, but you could never afford it. He takes you on a trip to Disney World and it actually cheers you up.
I looked down at my pile of homework. I had so much of it and it was stressing me out. That wasn’t the only thing bothering me though. My mom had lost her job and she was the only thing supporting my family. My dad was a drunk and a drug addict and was never at home. He was too busy at bars, drinking, taking illegal substances, and hooking up with other women.
My mom and I stuck together, though. She was there for me when I needed her and I was there for her. She was especially there for me when I started harming myself. She was the only one I told and she encouraged me to stop and helped me to make sure I didn’t do it again. She was always there.
I had been down a lot recently. I admit that. Ever since my mom lost her job and we ran out of money, I hadn’t really been as a social. My mind started going back to my harmful thoughts and it really bothered me. I had a bunch of assignments, which just added to everything. My stress and anxiety level was sky high.
As I sat in my bedroom trying to do my assignments, I heard my phone go off. I didn’t bother to see who it was before I answered. “Hello?” I asked, the tiredness and stress clearly in my voice.
“Y/N,” I heard the familiar voice say softly through the phone. I could hear them smiling through the phone. He was always smiling. I was relieved to hear his voice.
“Daniel,” I said, a smile forming upon my own face.
I was dating Daniel Seavey from Why Don’t We. Did he know what was going on? The answer to this is simple. No. I hadn’t told him anything. He didn’t know about what my dad did or that my mom lost her job, or even that I had harmed myself before. I couldn’t tell him. He couldn’t know. I always had to fake a smile around him because even he couldn’t cheer me up. I loved him more than anything, but he couldn’t cheer me up. Nothing could.
“Everything okay, Y/N?” He asked. “You sound a little off.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I can tell when you’re down. I can tell when you’re stressed,” he replied. “You’ve been that way for a while now and I know you haven’t told me what’s going on and that you really haven’t been happy.”
I was taken aback. He hadn’t confronted me about anything. I had thought he believed I was okay. That he couldn’t tell that anything was going on. Maybe I had been wrong.
“I’m fine, Dani,” I lied, through the phone. It’s not like he would believe me, especially since I didn’t even believe me.
“You’re not fine. Stop lying. I’m coming over and you’re going to tell me everything that’s going on. I don’t want you to be upset,” he said, before hanging up.
There was no point in doing my homework now. I mean it was good that it wasn’t due for a few days because my college professors would’ve killed me.
I threw my homework on the floor and collapsed backwards onto my bed. I needed to get my brain away from the stress, but I didn’t want Daniel to be here. I loved him yes, but I didn’t want to pour my problems on him. That’s why I didn’t tell him in the first place.
It wasn’t long before Daniel came into my room and sat next to me. He pulled me into his chest. It was always comforting when he did that. It made me feel safe, when I knew I wasn’t. He hadn’t even said anything to me.
“What’s wrong?” He asked me.
“Nothing,” I lied. I always lying around him now. I didn’t want any pity or sympathy and I thought that’s what I was going to get. Also, it wasn’t his weight to carry. It was mine and I thought I could carry it alone.
“Y/N, babe, something’s up and I want to know. I want you to be happy. Is it me? Did I do something?” He asked me, a worried expression shown on his face.
“No, Dani, you did absolutely nothing wrong,” I told him, kissing his cheek. “You’re perfect and you could never do anything wrong.”
“How come I haven’t been able to cheer you up then?” He asked, pulling me closer to him.
“Because there’s nothing anyone can do to cheer me up,” I explained to him, sighing.
“For one, my mom lost her job and now we have no money. Second off, my dad’s a drug addict, he always drunk, he’s never home, he’s always having physical relations with every woman he can find in the bar. Third off, I’m so stressed with school. Fourth off, all of this is building up inside of me and I’ve been doing this,” I told him, rolling up my sleeve.
His soft expression of worry changed as soon as he saw my arms. It changed to a more serious expression. “Y/N, how long?” He asked me.
“A few months,” I replied.
“Are you still?” He asked me. I shook my head no. “Thank goodness. I’m gonna do something that’ll cheer you up.”
“Daniel, I love you, but I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do to cheer me up,” I told him, sighing.
“I will find a way,” he said, getting up and walking out.
It was Christmas time. I was still upset. I was celebrating with my whole entire family, even my dad was there. All of the gifts from my mom were homemade because we couldn’t really afford anything. All my other family all bought me something expensive.
My other family had also brought the food since we couldn’t afford all of it this year. It was hard without my moms job to really afford anything anymore.
After opening all the gifts, my cousins and I just chilled for a bit. They were all my age and we were all close, so why not?
All of a sudden, I heard the door open. My eyes shot to the door and I noticed Daniel. “Daniel?” I asked, getting up and walking over to him.
“Merry Christmas, Y/N,” he told me, pulling me into his embrace.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, a small smile forming upon my face. “I thought you were with your family.”
“And I am, but I needed to see you. I would love to spend Christmas with you, but I have to spend Christmas with my family,” he replied.
“Your family is welcome here, Daniel,” my mom told him. I turned my head to look at my mom. It’s not like she ever disliked Daniel, but I could never see this coming.
He nodded and pulled out his phone to call his family. He talked to them for a little bit and then hung up. About ten minutes later they arrived. “Mr and Mrs Seavey,” I said, nodding towards them. Daniel’s mom smiled back at me. She had always liked me. “Anna, Christian, Tyler.” Anna hugged me. She was one of my close friends.
I sat back down on the floor next to my cousins. Daniel followed and sat next to me, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. “Wait, I have gifts,” he told me. He handed me a few boxes.
“Daniel, you didn’t have to get me so much,” I told him, looking at the boxes in my hands.
“I wanted to, though,” he told me, kissing my cheek.
I opened a few that were good gifts, but they weren’t meaningful between us at all. I got to one that I opened and it revealed a silver necklace with a S on it. “For Seavey?” I asked. He nodded. I opened the last gift and screamed. “You’re kidding me, right?” I asked. He shook his head.
“I wanted to do something special to cheer you up and you’ve always mentioned you’ve wanted to go to Disney World so surprise!” He told me, smiling. “Do you like it?” I nodded, crying. He pulled me into his embrace.
“Awww, that’s so cute,” my cousin, Lizzie, commented.
The last box I had opened had a set of two magic bands, Mickey ears and a small stitch backpack. It also had a slip of paper explaining everything.
“Whose all going?” My other cousin, Mya, asked.
“Just me and her,” Daniel told her.
A week passed and we arrived at our hotel in Walt Disney World. We were staying at the Polynesian Village Resort. It was beautiful and it had a lilo and stitch themed restaurant.
I sat down on the bed and looked around the room. “This is incredible, Dani, thank you,” I told him, smiling.
“Anything for you babe,” he told me, kissing my forehead. “Wanna go out to the park? We have tickets for Magic Kingdom today.” I nodded and he grabbed my hand.
We took the monorail to Magic Kingdom and he took my hand as we got out. We got in line do they could check our magic bands.
We eventually finally got in the park. “You excited?” Daniel asked me, taking my hand.
“Heck yeah,” I said, intertwining our fingers. “What do we go on first?”
“You can choose,” Daniel told me.
“I’ve never been here. I don’t know what there is,” I explained.
“Let’s go to Space Mountain,” he told me.
“Okay,” I said, following him to the ride.
We rode Space mountain and it was so much fun. Disney was so much fun. I had finally been able to go to Disney. I was also able to share it with my boyfriend, who was just incredible.
A few days passed and we were at the Magic Kingdom. It was our last day here. All of a sudden, I saw Daniel get down on one knee and pull out a ring box.
“Y/N Y/L/N, I’ve loved you since the minute I met you. I know you’ve been going through a lot and I have successfully cheered you up. I wanna make you happy every single day of your life. So Y/N Y/L/N, will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?” He asked me.
I nodded my head, tears falling down my cheeks. “Yes!” I screamed as he put the ring on my finger and pulled me into his embrace. “There’s no one else I would want to be with for the rest of my life.”
