Hey btw, here's a piece of life advice:
If you know what you'd have to do to solve a problem, but you just don't want to do it, your main problem isn't the problem itself. Your problem is figuring out how to get yourself to do the solution.
If your problem is not eating enough vegetables, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make vegetables stop being yucky". If your problem is not getting enough exercise, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make exercise stop sucking ass". You're not supposed to just be doing things that are awful and suck all the time forever, you're supposed to figure out how to make it stop being so awful all the time.
I used to hate wearing sunscreen because it's sticky and slimy and disgusting and it feels bad and it smells bad, so I neglected to wear it even if I needed to. Then I found one that isn't like that, and doesn't smell and feel gross. Problem solved.
There is no correct way to live that's just supposed to suck and feel bad all the time. You're allowed to figure out how to make it not suck so bad.
Do you have any advice for young women?
In general? Sure. Read whatever you can get your hands on, but especially work written by women. Put your hands in sticky things at least once a week (clay, paint, dough, soil), don’t date anyone for a few years, travel when you can where you can, learn the skill of listening to your body— rest when you are tired, eat when you are hungry, drink when you are thirsty, and move when you are anxious. Swim as often as you can. Try to live alone at least once. If you can’t live alone, make time to be alone often. Carry pepperspray and do not learn to hold your tongue. Learn to sew, or weave, or knit. Unlearn the impulse to apologize for things that are not your fault. Pleasure yourself. Every once in a while, remind yourself of how loudly you can yell, how quickly you can run, and wildly you can dance. Allow yourself to cry for your mother. Spend as much time as you can in female-only spaces. Spend even more time with older women. Listen to their stories. Memorize their gray hair and lined faces, their swollen joints and sagging breasts. Cherish the gradual appearance of these things in yourself as an inheritance. Hold hands with other women. Spend some time naked in your home. Adopt a cat, or a fish, or grow some caterpillars into butterflies on your window. Eat heartily and drink to enjoy it. Go hiking and scream from a peak somewhere. Sometimes, allow yourself to act like a child again— climb a tree, scrape up your knees, and lick cake batter from the spoon. When you clean your home, open all the windows and beat the dust from all the curtains. Laugh loudly. Do not become self-deprecating to encourage others to laugh with you.
somehow developed a book idea while i was dreaming
main character is not in contact with their friends (from school etc). they start seeing dreams set in fantasy/magic/past where they are surrounded by their friends.
in modern world they tell their parents about it (as their friends are also their parents friends' children). they keep seeing dreams in which they fight for their life. in modern world they somehow end up getting sick and in one bedroom apartment w their sibling and their significant other. in dreams they are also sick after fight went wrong.
after they get well their parents come to visit them with their friends who are happy to see mc. best friend from school is clinging to mc (and this is ~maybe~ not related to mc being really sick in dreams).
they end up picking up talking to their friends again. oneday they discover they have same dream reality and are into research on how to heal mc in dream world.
Fyodor Dostoyevsky // Alanis Morissette
one thing i need to start living by is “become the thing that you want” if i want friends who throw themed parties maybe i should start throwing those parties. if i want someone who writes me love letters maybe i should start writing letters for the people i love. if i want to hang out at museums and pretty cafes maybe i should invite my friends to these places. and maybe even then i won’t find the kind of people i want to be around. but then i would have become the exact person i want to be around. and maybe that’s good enough.

organize & stay organized
introduction:
hey loves! one of my biggest pet peaves is messiness. i hate rooms that are out of order, houses that are a mess. it's just not a good look. additionally, it's been proven that having a messy external world can affect your mental health. since organiztion is such a struggle- what habits can help us stay clean?
daily habits:
keep clothes off the floor. never leave clothes on the floor! either put them in your dresser/closet or in the laundry room.
clean up after yourself. lets say you're sketching and you've got all your materials out. when you're done- put them back!
tidy up at night. i like to just clean up before bed because it's pretty relaxing, and when you clean your room consistently then it eliminates the need to do giant cleans once a month, you just spend a few minutes everyday instead.
keep to do lists. this isn't really external orgaization, more of a mental thing, but keep a to-do list and a calendar so you stay organized in life and have everything in order :)
weekly habits:
organize your backpack. get out old paper, put things where they need to go, just create a space that's easy to find what you need.
wash your sheets. you can do this every two weeks. but please no longer that that. our sheets hold dirt, dust, dead skin and we all should sleep in clean beds.
change out your towel every week or so. you can also do this every 3 days or so, just please don't keep the same towel for too long.
dedicate a morning to cleaning. on the weekends i like to spend one day where i just tidy up during the morning- dusting, rearranging stuff, playing music in the background, it's very relaxing :)
conclusion:
a clean living environment is not only pleasing to the eye, but it's been proven to help with mental clarity, and in geeral is a good habit to have. if you want to build discipline, having an organized external environment is a great first step :)
it was 6:50am when I took these pictures and the place was empty!! I always try to go to a coffee shop near my school if I have early class just to go through my notes because the air is cold and the streets are empty and the coffee is delicious
