Upon opening it is the man smiling from ear to ear, and before long are his cheeks starting to hurt from smiling for such a long period. Jun’s quick to latch himself onto his fiance, and now Alejandro is being smothered in a plethora of lazy kisses!

“Oh—I’m glad—you don’t already have it then?” When Jun starts to pepper kisses all over him, Alejandro flusters. “H-hey!” He leans in toward the kisses despite his protests. “You’re gonna get me goin’ if you keep that up!”

“You must be joking.” What would you possibly get a man who can get anything he wanted? To try the money route would be a lost battle from the very start. People seemed to think it was the only way though, when the trick was fairly easy. Alejandro, thanks to his family’s tradition, has figured it out. Get Steven something personal, something self-made and heartfelt that can’t be bought. “This is the best gift ever, darling. The chocolate looks absolutely delicious, you’re so talented.” 

It was sad to hear Ale say ‘when I had a family’. It’s okay, Steven was his family now. “A wonderful tradition. Thank you for sharing it with me.” One arm curled around Ale’s waist while his other hand took a piece and popped it right into his mouth. “Mmhh.” The pleasure exploding on his taste buds was mirrored all over his face. “Delicious.” He kissed Alejandro’s lips, sharing the sweet taste with him. “Of course, kissing you tastes even sweeter.”

“I have a gift for you too. Don’t worry, I didn’t bake or cook.” Having someone taste what Steven cooked doubled as a torture method. “I’ll go get it, yes?”

It’s true—Steven is a rich man & he likely has everything he could possibly want. Alejandro knows that handmade things have value, but he still wishes he were still rich so that he could properly woo Steven. “I’d...like to go to culinary school someday, I think. You know. . .if I’m ever able to get out of Team Rocket.” Perhaps some things are better left unsaid.

“I’m glad—that you don’t mind me sharing.” Alejandro smiles sweet and soft. He makes a soft noise of surprise when Steven’s arm wraps around him. He watches the man eat expectantly, eyes wide with curiosity &—he seems to like it! Thank Arceus! When Steven kisses him, Alejandro closes his eyes. He wishes moments like this could last forever. “I’m—you fluster me, Steve, as per usual.”

Alejandro laughs nervously. “A gift, for me? Whatever for?”

Neo was not really one to celebrate MEWMAS; he was raised in a very MIXED household where his father — the one who really seemed to care for the holiday in the home — would celebrate, while his mother only went with the motions and celebrated for her son’s sake. To uphold the INNOCENCE that he had, before it all would surely DISAPPEAR. 

When his father was arrested GONE, they only celebrated Mewmas for the JOY  it brought about. They didn’t practice anything besides the giving of presents and dressing FESTIVELY, and even when they dressed in such a manner, it was more on the Kantonian side of things, wearing warm kimonos and alike, which were more often worn to honor the New Year rather to celebrate Mewmas.

It was worth mentioning that Neo didn’t HATE Mewmas; no, in fact, he thought it was FUN, but it had been some time since he received a gift from someone close to him for the holiday besides his mother. So when Alejandro gave him such a SWEET gift, he couldn’t help but begin to bawl.

❝ S-Sash…! You…You didn’t have to do this…! ❞ He caressed the gift box, bringing it close to his chest with a BRIGHT smile, despite the salty tears slipping down his freckled cheeks. 

❝ THANK YOU…! ❞

“Oh—?” Alejandro tilts his head to the side. “Why are you crying, Neo?” He immediately wraps his arms around Neo’s muscular body. ( He loves feeling those muscles. Oh boy, he’s guilty of that. ) “Are you okay? Was I too forward?” He’s concerned. Muscles aside, he cares about Neo and wants him to be happy.

“Like. . .they’re happy tears, right?” Sometimes he has a hard time telling. Especially when it comes to people he hasn’t known for years. ( Oh, it’s a shame they didn’t meet sooner. When Alejandro was successful. ) “You’ve got a beautiful smile. Has anyone ever told you that?”

It’s a rather humble offering, but he hopes that something handmade and tasty will be enough for his boyfriend. “But I did make you something!
