hellooooo I have a little terran monkey wrench dump of art and ramblings for you
I think I have refined my Terran Shrike design. I decided I'll give him his red eyes; like I said before I'm working with the idea that while they're more realistic human designs there's still wacky sci-fi bullshit going on. And Shrike is a special boy so he can have his cool red eyes. I was also too worried about making his eyes more "unique" I guess, but the round oval shape works for him, even as a Terran. You can also see here he still has the gem in the back of his head, though I'm unsure if I've made it look right? Idk. But it's there.
I also wanna mention with his hair, originally I was trying to make it a bit simpler with just being a kind of slicked-back thing to mimic his tentacles, but I ended up adding those little strands of hair hanging off because I felt it was missing something. I think it adds to the rhythm of his design, plus I feel like if he had hair it would be a little styled but still kind of messy. In general he should look a little messy.
Also starting to work on his body, it won't change much, maybe he'll be just slightly less skinny in the arms and legs? He'll still be a skinny weirdo though. Keeping his fingers square as well, I like the square fingies. Idk not much to say there.
Also realistically most of these characters are probably gonna be different heights as Terrans, like Shrike probably wouldn't be 6'3", but ehhhh idk how much attention I'll pay to that lol. I've never been good with consistent heights anyway.
Anyway, doing that redraw in the second image really helped me get a better grasp on what I'm doing with this design. I'll probably do some more redraws in the future, not even just to help me figure out the designs more but also because it's fun :)
But yeah anyway anyway! I'm really liking my Terran Shrike, he's a silly guy :3
Starting to figure out Terran Beebs. He won't look that different since he already looks quite Terran-shaped, but I wanna change his head shape slightly, and I wanna give him different hair, something more textured. Trying to keep him squarish, though. I'll probably change his eye-colour, too? Just feeling out the waters rn, but I'd love to hear some opinions on my direction here.
Oh and uhhhhhh more Terran Jaw Bone ewwww get the spray bottle. Refined his design a little, I also redrew his whole expression sheet because I have a problem to further help me figure his design out, mainly his head shape. But I think I've got a good grasp on it now. Figuring out his body shape as well, which is interesting to do since I'm mainly working off of his skeleton. He's got some meat on his bones obviously but I do think specifically he should be at least a little soft in the middle. Idk like if he's consistently winning food eating competitions I think he's gonna be at least a little squishy, right?
Also a little bit of yellow Jaw Bone. Idk does he look ok??? Idk about the colours. I thinkkkkkk the hair might be ok but I'm so iffy idk hair is a weak spot for me sometimes. I think he looks ok but I'm uncertain. I think his eyes are fine, actually.
I wanna do Terran designs for other Monkey Wrench characters but I'd like to at least draw them normally first, lol. (I'll get to Ricket eventually I'm having trouble figuring him out.)
