I hope not.
[He gets enough of that in the League already.
Theyāve reached the door, now, and he pauses for a second, as if thereās something he wants to say, watching Manjoumeās face carefully.
ā¦then he turns and enters the building.]
[ Good luck having itĀ not be a spectacle, in a school run by Samejima.
He grunts a little in place of an actual response though, staring back at Kaiser (a lot more awkwardly than Kaiser's staring is). And then Kaiser's just going without a word which should be great because now he can goĀ home but.
He thinks about having to walk the rest of the way alone in the rain, and probably get harassed when he gets there, and as he's thinking a drop of rain slides off the deflated buzzsaw and lands on his nose, making him sneeze miserably. ]
[ ...he trots after Kaiser. ]
No.
Not yet, at least.
[He wonders whether his opponent will be there, rather than Obelisk. Itās not implausible, given the location of the recent talentā¦]
[ 'Not yet'... yeah. Because it probably is Juudai, isn't it?
(maybe Juudai isn't as bad as Manjoume likes to pretend he thinks, but... it's still a little hard not to be jealous sometimes, even now)
(his room in Osiris is pretty nice, but he still misses theĀ status in Obelisk sometimes) ]
...guess if you're dueling they'll make a spectacle of it, huh.
[ A grin grows on his face at the prospect of facing Manjoume again after so long. And, well, Manjoume hasnāt lost his flair so, definitely, this would be a challenge.
Juudai nods enthusiastically. ]
Up for it? Of course Iām up for it! I bet youāve gotten tons better since the last time we dueled! I canāt wait to see your strength.
Aaah, Iām so excited! Do you think we can duel while we eat? Itāll be fun!
[ No, Juudai, donāt do that. You might choke. ]
YouĀ bet I've gotten tougher. Tough enough to wipe the floor with you.
[ You wish, Manjoume.
He raises an eyebrow at the question, though. ]
I'm. Pretty sure they don't allow dueling in the sushi place.
Of course.
[Heās not about to deny that. Itās just more fun this way. Things can get boring when Ed isnāt around for mutual harassment.
ā¦well, at least the school building where he left his case is in sight, now.]
...tch.
[ He. Figures he's probably going to be leaving Kaiser at the building when they get there, since it's the only place between here and Osiris.
(good riddance, except for the fact he'll be without any buffer for the wind) ]
Guessing you're not going to Osiris.
Not very grateful, are you.
[ā¦he wipes a splotch of dirt off the end of Manjoumeās nose with a fingertip.]
Spot of mud on you.
[And now heās walking again.]
You surprised m--
[ --finger. Nose? What.
...oh. Mud. Okay.
(give him a moment to reboot. Not every day a huge buff dude in leather wipes your nose) ]
...I could've dealt with it.
Picking you up.
[He sets Manjoume down on his feet.]
I thought that much was obvious.
[ā¦he looks Manjoume up and down, then. Pity he fell on such a muddy path.]
Don't just pick someone up without warning!
[ He looks down at himself too when Kaiser looks.
...oh. Gross.
(he might even have to (shudder) wash his jacket) ]
Dammit.
ā¦
[He reaches down to grab the back of Manjoumeās coat and hoist him back up.]
[ OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL ARE YOUR MUSCLES MADE OF HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS WHY AM I OFF THE FLOOR WHEN I MADE NO MOVE TO GET OFF THE FLOOR ]
W-what are you doing?
Left my case. Donāt want it taken.
Someoneās going to be stupid and get himself killed.
[Itās not as if the case isnāt contributing to Kaiserās own situational stupidity and possible early demise, butā¦
Well. He knows what heās doing, at least.
Besides, he doesnāt want someone elseās sweat and blood on the things, not unless itās part of his duel.
He keeps walking as lightning flashes in the distance, followed by another booming roll of thunder. His hair is falling into his eyes ā he brushes it aside, letting the drops from the ends roll over his fingers.]
[ 'Get himself killed'. ]
[ Kaiser what the hell is in your briefcase.
Manjoume just kind of. Blinks. Stares a little.
--and then proceeds to trip over his own feet because he's not looking where he's going. ]
...ow.
Like I said. Havenāt been informed.
[Dueling Juudai again, thoughā¦that could be interesting.
Maybe this time it wouldnāt end in a tie.
(but)
(though he doesnāt want to admit it to himself)
(it would be difficult to risk juudaiās life in the process)
Thereās a roll of thunder in the distance. What an excellent time to be a living lightning rod.]
Tch. Well it's notĀ me.
[ And he's not at all bothered by that. By apparently not being on Kaiser's level.
(he knows about that duel with Shou and he might go by Manjoume Thunder but he'd still rather not deal with the 'lightning' side of the equation like that) ]
Where are you going, anyway?
Hm, well. Anything that anyone needs me to do! Like, saving cats up in trees or fixing a broken car and stuff like that? Iām good with my hands!
[ As if to make his point, Juudai waves his hands around and laughs a little.
He follows Manjoume without complaint, but frequently turns around to follow a passing shopās sign that he recognizes. Itās been so long. ]
I even recorded a few things for a company, once! Although they were things like āthis phone isnāt in rangeā so it wasnāt too exciting.
[ He tried to pick up any sort of work for extra cash because while, yeah, Yubel could fly him anywhere so that cut down transportation cost, but he still needed food money. ]
How about you, Manjoume? Itās been a while! Actually, I havenāt been able to duel too much since Iāve been working. Ne, ne, can we duel after lunch?
[ Well, heās dueled Yubel and Daitokuji-sensei, but they donāt count.Ā ]
Good with your hands?
Guess you've gotten less clumsy, then.
[ Hm. Definitely weird hearing Juudai talk about mundane things like that. Didn't he usually sleep through anything like that and only wake up for important things like 'people trying to end the world' and 'lunch'?
And then Juudai's asking about him, and. Well. He might sort of puff his chest out a little. ]
I'm the number one rising star in the pro leagues, ofĀ course. ...and not working under Ed this time.
[ Thank god. ]
So we can duel, if you think you're up to it.
[ā¦ah. Right.
His pace slows ever so slightly. Which isnāt ideal, in the rain.]
I donāt know.
They promised me an opponent worth my time. He hasnāt materialized yet.
[Which has him a bit sore, for reasons anyone who knows him could understand.]
[ Thanks Kaiser he wasĀ trying to use you as makeshift leather wind-buffer.
(helps with the needing to trot though, at least) ]
So... what, Juudai?
[ Is there anyoneĀ else Kaiser seems to care about duel-wise? Maybe Fubuki, but... ]
He's probably stuffing his face in the cafeteria, anyway.
ā¦that makes sense, actually.
[His usual flat countenance returns as he seems to contemplate this.
(And he ignores Manjoumeās attempts to keep up, thankfully.)]
[ Of course it makes sense. The Chazz Manjoume Sanda is a fountain of great ideas.
He keeps on trotting to keep up, and...
(well. He should just take advantage of Kaiser's size and not deal with any more conversation)
(but... he's a little curious, to be honest) ]
...what're you doing here, anyway?
Sushi! Wow Manjoume, thanks so much! And since itās sushi, even Pharaoh can eat a few pieces, right Pharaoh?
[ As if on cue, the orange tabby pops its head through the top of his pack and lets out a small āmroowā in confirmation. Juudai smiles and holds his pack a little closer to him as he walks beside the other.
At least with the promise of food, Pharaoh wonāt run off to do god knows what. ]
Hm, well. Iāve been to a lot of places! Like New York and Venice and even Oslo! You know, to visit Johan. But other than that, Iāve been helping around. Freelance work, yāknow.
1-800-JUUDAI at your service!
[ Heās been doing odd jobs, yeah, but he canāt exactly tell Manjoume heās traveling around to fix the various rifts in the world after the whole episode with Yubel and then Darkness.
Well, heās sure if he did tell Manjoume, he wouldnāt laugh at him or anything. It was just a matter of the whole world being destroyed thing is over and he would rather keep that mindset for Manjoume. ]
[ ...heh. It's been a while since he saw that cat, too.
Manjoume starts walking then, gesturing for Juudai to follow after him. ]
What kind of freelance work?
[ Something as vague as just 'freelance' seems fitting for Juudai, but... well.
You get used to Juudai's presence being associated with supernatural bullshit, mostly. Seems weird for him to be doing something so... mundane. ]
Woah, lucky! Iāve ended up somewhere I know. And hey, youāre here too, Manjoume! So thatās another plus.
[ He rocks on his heels as he takes in the familiar surroundings.
Truth be told, he wandered in sometime late in the night, and probably found the park by luck. Itās not like heās breaking any laws by sleeping in the park, right? ]
[ Juudai turns back around then, and greets Manjoume with an even brighter smile. ]
Hey, since youāre here and all, wanna get some lunch? I havenāt eaten a restaurant meal in forever.
[ Read: Hey, since you have money and all, can you treat me? ]
[ Given that Juudai's, you know, sleeping in a park - plus the fact that he doubts the guy's got much of an income, with the whole 'running all over the whole of creation doing god only knows what' - it's... not horrendously hard to put two and two together.
(the quiet when Juudai's not around is not, in fact, all bad)
Manjoume shakes his head a little with a sigh, then turns away. ]
Come on, then. There's an all you can eat sushi place around the corner.
[ He kind of figures that some kind of buffet's going to be the smallest hit to his wallet, given Juudai's appetite. ]
What have you beenĀ doing, anyway?
Of course not.
[The wind is whipping the back of his coat around. Watch out for that, Manjoume, you might get hit with a few pounds of flying leather.]
So you ran to catch up.
[ He'll, uh. Just make sure to get more to Kaiser's side.
(which might mean of a bit of a trot on his part, given Kaiser's strides)
And. Well. The least embarrassing thing here, for once, is probably the truth. ]
...you're big. And the wind's behind you.
You seemed like you were in a hurry to catch up.
[His posture isnāt quite as stiff, now, and his shoulders donāt seem so ridiculously padded when heās not holding them as perfectly straight.]
I donāt think I gave you much to come after besides low regards.
...tch. It's cold out, like I said. You're going the same way I am.
[ If he walks next to Kaiser, mayber he can put some of that ridiculous height and buffness to use as some kind of buffer against the wind. ]
Certainly nothing to do with the joys of your company.
