I read some stuff about HS Ichi. Seems like he was depressed or sad since the beginning but put on this mask and pretended being happy maybe ‘cause he didn’t want to be a bother. But at the end he couldn’t bear it anymore and let his mask fall. He doesn’t want to think about his HS self 'cause he can’t take the fact he never was „himself“, that he never really was happy and maybe hates Karamatsu so much 'cause he probably puts on that mask too. (Just a small theory)
