TITLE: "Keylocker"

GENRE: Turn Based RPG, RESIST DEFY DESTROY, Rhythm, Queer

Sing revolution as the doppelganger vocalist Bobo and burn this world of liars to the ground. Keylocker is a super long and thrilling rpg about a ground up revolution in a silenced world, where music is a crime and no-one can sing. The hex based battle system has timed inputs and multiple styles of attacking or defending for each character.

It can be a slow start if you pick a defensive class, but the build options are really robust and allow for lots of customization. The battles are a highlight but I enjoyed the world building and the complex relationships between characters, or the interactions with others in different locations. sometimes the pacing lags but if you can be patient in the lulls the full story is excellent, anyone who likes rp'ing defiance or enjoys radical action should consider this story :)

TITLE: Nightmare Knight: Sacred Maiden and Fallen Magic

Rain is a Holy Knight in service to the church of the holy demon, in the events of this story she travels to Hakudeti. The story writing is very fun!

This game has some creative mechanics and fresh music, a lotta combat encounters are engaging even if experience can trivialize them later. Lusty scenes require levels in specific acts and there are many scenes that focus mostly on manipulation and coercion under enchanted horniness and dubious/no consent, sometimes for both parties. Masc attracted manipulation fans will love this game.

TITLE: Ys X Nordics

RELEASED: Oct 25, 2024 (PC)

GENRE: Youth, Traveling, Hopeful, 3D action adventure, Sailing

This is the latest release in the Ys series of RPG's and it was my first time playing any in the series. I was really enthusiastic from what i'd heard before, and playing through this game was a joy! The game centers around two protagonists, Adol, a traveler and beloved previous protaganist of Ys 8. And Karja, a young Norman femme who is a sea captain and warrior in the Balta Sea force.

The game is full of lush sailing and sea battles brought to life by a growing ensemble cast of independant young people.

The open ended exploration is all anchored by a steady and thrilling main story with surprises and memorable zones. The action is pretty great and in involves switching between either character and blocking hits to build a power modifier for dual attacks, where both characters attack together. It starts simple but it can be difficult at times, the stronger items you get from exploring frequently help take the edge off.

Anyone who loves hopeful, optimistic and inspiring RPGs should check this out! This is definitely one of the high budget hits of the year.

This iconic retro aesthetic survival horror game is a must play, a queer highlight of the year. Highly recommended for anyone going through a breakup or contemplating love.

TITLE: Night Stones

GENRE: Peaceful, traveling, puzzles

A short and bright game about traveling thru a dream and finding your way home. The gameplay is simple and polished and you are mostly left free to wander, there are some battles and by solving environmental puzzles you can defeat them safely. This has an upbeat and appealing artstyle with charming writing and character customization incl a choice of binary pronouns. A highlight is the indirect writing style that allows you to solve many puzzles contextually, and without a map you can find your way without pressure.

I would recommend this game for anyone looking for a relaxing game to poke around in.

TITLE: Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus

This game is short and breezy, the art is hand drawn and captivating! A lot of the tough encounters encourage you to focus on staying airborne and there are many options to launch yourself into the air and stay flying! Even the level design encourages lengthy and creative aerial platforming, and there are challenging platforming sections that keep a fun difficulty. The sound design is lush and the characters are fun!

I would recommend this game to anyone who likes metroidvania games and would like to experience some rare satisfying air battling.

The soundtrack is fantastic and the levels are creative, a must play title for any genre fans or speed nerds. The story is simple and touching and the conclusion was hopeful in a way that made me happy

Christian embarks on a quest for vengeance as he rips and tears thru nightmares and the NEO-SANCTUM to crush their power and snuff out their organization. Team up with old friends and rebel groups to crush their sick fantasy and rise up against fascist theocratic atrocity.

The gameplay is slick and stylish and tho the visuals made me seize (until they didn't???) they are extremely unique! i really recommend this to anyone seeking vengeance or catharsis, especially for its discussion of solo vengeance!

TITLE: "Mary Skelter Finale"

RELEASED: Sep 12, 2023

GENRE: Dungeon Crawler, Visual Novel Turn Based RPG

The finale in the mary skelter series of 3d dungeon crawler RPGs! You could easily play this after "Mary Skelter 2" because the timelines of 1+2 merge for 3 and the backstory of 1 is well summarized. The opening has the blood maidens face to face with some intense violence so it might be hard to play this first. An ensemble cast of Blood maidens fighting to escape a warped earth where living jails consume and twist human lives. Marchens roam the dungeons and powerful nightmares stalk the halls but at the end of this finale the cast finally reaches out to live their freedom from jail once and for all. Its a satisfying end to a great series but a long long game.

The game is a quick romp & stomp thru dungeons with side quests and some optional content. The main story a touching slow build, and I really liked Liss the demon paragon.

The Ero content is f/m, mean non-con with a misogynistic gross out flavor. Theres also a lot of fantasy race play, heavy intox scenes, and multiple slavery ends.

I liked the title, and the art & imagery was thin. The gameplay is okay, and the story is short and sweet! You could play thru most or all of this game in one session and as an undertale-like it's fun! I liked how the turn based boss battles draw a window with the typical action gameplay for dodging and charging moves. Apparently this is part of an upcoming series so its more of a taste of whats to come. If u like weird rpg's its a great one-shot.

Hot new release from CreSpirit, devs of previous snake x bullet ocean rec "Last Command", and action platformer "Rabi-Ribi". This Battle platformer blends bullet ocean mechanics into boss and enemy encounters to create a ranged/melee system that feels gripping and definitive. Abundant Sigils (costing build defining EP) and super diverse combo options make the systems feel super exciting. The movement and patterns in all encounters feel great, and the story is unmissable. This game stands among all time greats as a true pleasure for metroidvania fans. The character designs are diverse and stylish and theres touching and heartfelt LGBTQ+ representation!

I give this my full, sincere, recommendation as an all time hit!

Fun Horny beat em up with some repeating scenes, theyre mostly f/m with two f/f scenes at the end. It was difficult to avoid non-con grabs (more so with optional abilities) so i liked that you're able to be fully resistant and still experience the ero scenes. There are many skills you can develop with changing names based on xp levels but the title names can be a bit degrading (enjoyable?!). Big rec as a simple game with flashy combos and strong systems.
