The Blade Cards
Growing up as a kid, I was a huge fan of trading cards, baseball, football, basketball, didn’t matter, i collected them all and still have most of them to this day. So back in 2012, I created this series of baseball cards for my friends an myself as a half joke/half living out a childhood dream of being forever memorialized on the all mighty trading card.
The body of work was pretty extensive, all in all I probably worked on these for a month or so and when all was said and done I’d created 25 cards with photos and stats, a brand for the cards, and a crazy animated 3d promo video that never wound up anywhere.
After a couple printers falling through, and my ever changing living situation, the project just kind of sat on the shelf. Recently, Long Tonthat of Oak City Skateshop hit me up about using some photos for a series of trading cards he was creating so I offered to let him use the designs/photos I’d already created in hopes of actually seeing these things printed, and it looks like its finally coming to fruition.
So being that Gooder than Hell is nearing completion, quick edit 40 is close to being done, and a slew of other content is in the cue, I thought it would be a solid look to release these for everyone to see.
I’m stoked to see these things finally taking form and excited to see what they becomes in the future.
Stay tuned!

But like for real this time. All the homies came to town to help finish the last of the intro/outro this past weekend and the video is completely edited, now its just time for the very tedious final touches.
While everyone was in town, we did manage to snag a couple of photos at the first ever Atlanta Open in the midst of the craziness though.
Now that finally is actually really officially done. I’ll be hard at work combing through the video and fine tuning everything. After the video is done, sent off for audio/color and finalized, i’ll begin quick edit 40/promotional material for the video.
So there is a lot of work to do but its coming along nicely and should be done soon....dear god help me.
Final_Filming_Final_Finalv02
So a year after I said I was done filming for Gooder than Hell, I find myself back in Charlotte finishing up filming for Gooder than Hell. Despite the long times in between good filming excursions, business got handled just like old times. Phil and Thomas padded out their sections with final clips for the video and we managed to snap this deal of Thomas souling a most monstrous out ledge.
I have a few weeks off coming up which is when I’m going to dedicate a lot of time to editing Gooder than Hell and getting content ready to present the video to the world. So stay on the lookout for some sweet promotional material. Also, quick edit 40 is still on the way, I’m still going through the process of sifting through the footage and finding music.
So, back in April 2013, Long Tonthat of Oak City Skateshop contacted me and let me know he was organizing a mega session in Raleigh, NC. I headed down in hopes of filming a part for Gooder than Hell and got a ton of content from the first park we all went to and originally thought it would be a nice little section in the video.
As I’ve been editing, however, I realized that this doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of the video but it also doesn’t need to just be sitting on the shelf. So, here is a near 3 year old edit of a bunch of dudes blading a park in Raleigh, NC.
Hope you enjoy and stay tuned, I’ve got a lot of content cued to release in the near future!
So I’ve been sitting on this one for a while as I prepare and organize for quick edit 40. This one pretty much has all the homies sans the gypsy anew Tmart.
Next up in the cue is the Raleigh Mega Session from 2012, I believe. Originally, it was going to have a part in Gooder than Hell, but as the video is being edited I’ve realized that it doesn’t quite fit, so expect to see that one next.
Speaking of Gooder than Hell, the video itself is basically edited and I’m currently in the process of creating/finishing the intro, designing titles and then it’ll need another pass with a fine tooth comb.
As far as a timeline, now that QE 39 is out, the Raleigh Mega Session edit is next, followed by Quick Edit 40 and then Gooder than Hell will premiere sometime in the month after. So basically, soon.
For now though stay tuned for a few more of these bad boys and enjoy!
Here’s an old one of Montre I shot a while back.
Had a blast making this one.
