A letter to my 10-year-old self
Hey Meredith. This is you in 17 years. I hope things are treating you well. Especially since I know that, for the most part, they aren't. I know that your classmates are shitty to you and that, unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it. I know that they call you a "pig" and a "fatass," along with every other name they can find in their limited vocabularies. Sadly, this isn't going to change for a couple years. Meredith, I know that you want nothing more than to be thin. You look at Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in belly-baring clothes and feel like you've been rejected from a club you didn't even know existed. You see your classmates wearing bandana tops and bikinis and feel gut-wrenching jealousy at their confidence and their thin frames. But tonight, May 14th, 2016, you are going to wear a crop top to a party and everyone is going to tell you how good you look. You're going to spend almost 6 hours with a group of people who will not insult your belly or call you names. And you're going to do this as a fat woman with a round, soft stomach. People will still be awful to you for the way you look. But the people closest to you will not. One day, you'll mention in an offhand way that you were bullied as a kid, and these people will be appropriately horrified. One day, you'll be called "fashionable" and complimented on your appearance. But most importantly, one day, you'll show your fat belly to the world and the world will be okay with it. Love, Future Meredith
do you ever cry because the Arrowverse has several canonically queer characters and two major actors who are openly gay
get you a man who can do both
your friend group will gradually get gayer and gayer throughout the yearsÂ
Spot the difference.
Disney please steal this plot for Frozen 2
Elsa is the queen of Arendelle and is a bitchinâ but also fair queen. Â Sheâs beloved by all her subjects. Â Sheâs also helping to plan Ana and Kristoffâs upcoming wedding, plus keeping an eye on Olaf to keep him out of trouble.
One day, she gets a letter from the king of a faraway kingdom who is at his witâs end trying to help his out-of-control daughter. Â Elsa doesnât want to help at first, but Ana convinces her to go. Â (A duet ensues between the two of them) Â So they leave Olaf and Sven (as well as Elsaâs most trusted adviser) in charge of Arendelle and bring Kristoff along to visit this family in crisis.
You know how Arendelle is vaguely Scandanavian? Â Well this kingdom is vaguely North African.
Anyhow, the princess, it turns out, produces lightning when she is angry. Â She keeps accidentally setting the village on fire. Â Elsa takes her under her wing and teaches her how to control her powers. Â There is a Rocky-style training montage, and the two women grow closer and closer. Â The princess kisses Elsa in the heat of the moment, and Elsa runs away in confusion. Â Because thatâs what Elsa does. Â Elsa becomes fearful of her feelings and beings to lose control of her powers.
Meanwhile, Ana and Kristoff go on a sightseeing tour of the kingdom and find themselves ignoring the reason for their visit in favor of the beautiful sights. Â Blah blah they get distracted and arenât there to help when Elsa accidentally gets injured. Â They realize that theyâve been focusing too hard on the details of the wedding and not enough on the importance of family and helping others.
Also meanwhile, Olaf and Sven find the kingdom under threat from within.  One of Arendelleâs elite begins voicing dissent against the Queen, accusing her of abandoning the kingdom. (cue a song about âhow can a girl run a countryâ) He gains support amongst the townspeople and forms a mob threatening to overthrow the monarchy.  (basically a thinly-veiled reference to Donald Trump)
So Elsa is injured, the princess is still out of control, Ana and Kristoff are nowhere to be found, and Arendelle is under attack. Â What are they going to do?
Well, Ana and Kristoff decide to elope. Â They ask the king to marry them in a private ceremony with just them, Elsa, and the princess. Â As they proclaim their love for each other, Elsa looks to the princess and realizes that the same thing that saved her might save the princess. Â So she grabs the princessâs hand and they share A Moment. Â At that Moment, Elsa is healed and they realize that while anger causes the princess to produce lightning, love gives her the power of healing.
They receive an SOS letter from Olaf telling them to return immediately.  The princess gives a heartfelt goodbye to her father and announces that she must follow the group to Arendelle, but promises to return soon.  They all go to the kingdom and find a mob ready to destroy the entire kingdom.  Ana, Elsa, and Kristoff donât know what to do, but the princess steps up and gives a âlove cures everythingâ speech.  Then, she shakes hands with the instigator of the mob and uses her powers to soften his heart.
The movie ends with the princess and Elsa sharing a kiss. Â The end.

GUEST: Do you have discount tickets here for the Natural History Museum? CONCIERGE: The tickets we have here are full price, but the museum is a suggested donation. If you go directly to the museum, you can pay whatever you like. GUEST: So thereâs no discounts? CONCIERGE: Well there are a few ways to get discounted tickets, but the museum itself is pay-what-you-wish. GUEST: So you donât have any discounts? We really donât want to pay full price. CONCIERGE: We donât have discounts, we have full price tickets. You can go to the museum and pay 25 cents if you wanted to. GUEST: Okay, weâll take those. (she plunks down her credit card) CONCIERGE: No. The tickets here are full price. The museum is donation based. GUEST: You just said I could pay whatever I want. Iâm very glad that movies like Pacific Rim and Fury Road and The Force Awakens are as colorful as they are, because I am really, really tired of desaturated movies.
Iâm glad <insert movie> has blacks people because if it didnât meet my arbitrary percentage standard I might just have to call someone a bigot
